Coming to LA off the back of a massive 12 months, Wants is currently one of the biggest up-and-coming names on the UK house scene. Born and raised in Birmingham, her brand of bass-heavy house has been storming clubs everywhere from Ibiza to LA. Her releases with fellow Brummy Chris Lorenzo on labels such as Food Music, Ultra and Dirtybird have formed the core of a scene that’s spreading quickly.
She’s passing through LA as part of AC Slater’s NightBass tour with Jack Beats and will join us for a little sunset session in our Hollywood location.

it takes like 5 seconds to take a pic, and most people only had their phones out as she was starting, no were near as bad as more mainstream music events where its literally just people recording the whole time...

I apologize to all the Brits out there for my American brothers during this set. Not dancing, on their phones. This is quite typical in both music festivals and clubs. Drives me out of my fucking mind. I can't wait to come back to the UK to return to Fabric, Ministry, and Sankeys (not sure how its spelled exactly)

eric j I'm from Canada and I can't wait to finally be able to legally go clubbing in the UK this summer. I visit often since my family's from there, but now that I'm older I can finally enjoy the music scene. So pumped for this summer. Any particular places I should check out? I'll be all over the UK (birmingham, manchester, london, etc).
KREAMdawg Definitely Rainbow venues birmingham (Hannah wants was resident DJ there), Stealth, Nottingham. Fabric, London. Warehouse project, Manchester. (to name a few)
KREAMdawg The English will tell you to go to Manchester. Sanky's is one of the oldest and most famous venues with a very mature crowd. If you are in central London, you can't go wrong with Ministry of Sound, although Ministry is a bit more "mainstream" if that bothers you, as they usually host bigger artists. Fabric is more Drum n Bass, but I highly recommend the Fabric experience at least once at it is absolute insanity!!! (but a bit crowded). You can't hear or see anything in Fabric besides lasers, smoke, and straight ear-shattering bass. I couldn't hear for two days after a night in Fabric. On popular nights with bigger artists, show up a bit early or you will be waiting outside for awhile to get in. There are dozens upon dozens of other underground clubs that the English can clue you in on.
eric j Thanks so much man I really appreciate the suggestions! I'll definitely check out Fabric. Depending on who's playing at Ministry while I'm there I may check it out too. Everyone always raves on about how great the Manchester scene is so I'll have to ask some of my uni friends out there when I visit and I'll to hit up Sanky's too. I'm just stoked to see some of my favourite artists (hopefully they'll be in or around town) like Shadow Child, Cause n Affect (or Chris Lorenzo), Hot Since 82, etc.

can't that ("easy") exactly be fun too sometimes? I had SL1200's when tracks still had to be matched with an analog pitch slider. I sometimes loved the tracks that didn't were hard to bpm-match.
its beltran what im saying is that anyone can make this set using their songs. just go buy yourselves $100 mixer and pracitice. you probably cant produce but this set is superrrr easy to make.
I agree, I don't want to sound harsh, but her mixing for me is not on point, she claims to have vinyl turntables skills, but I do not hear any in her sets
its just... songs after songs. i make mixes at home, and i can easily imitate her set with the tracklist.

I couldn't agree more - PUT DOWN YOUR F'ING PHONES. I'm not sure if most of these people know how to deal with a DJ that's there to play a good set (and only play a good set). They think it's supposed to be a hype-it-up-and-post-it-on-facebook fest because they heard this was the cool place to be. And there's no better way to make it seem cool than to make sure everyone knows how cool you think it is... by posting it on Facebook. Not saying this isn't cool - it is. Don't me wrong , any upcoming DJ needs advertising, hype, marketing, etc. But, 3 people actually dancing out of the 15 people in the video frame that had their phones out doesn't exactly paint the picture that this crowd is there to dance which, don't forget, is what a DJ is supposed to be there to do - make you dance. (A little background - I hate people's obsession with FB. I'm feeling like that fueled the vast majority of this vent sesh.) Sooo call me an douche... Definitely a sick set but it just seems like a fake crowd... that was quite a rant... so sue me lol

Can someone not record a special moment to put on there laptop to relive at a later date? The entire reason a camera was invented is to look back on moments, although a lot of people that go to events these days only go for the hashtag an the facebook post, Me and some others record little parts so you can relive these small moments. so chill

I had just seen so much of the same thing recently and this was the place where I vented. Cameras are a valuable thing for preserving memories and I'd be lying if I said I didn't take a few pictures at the last event I attended. But, you definitely nailed my thoughts with what you said last - "its a mixmag event in LA so a lot of clueless rich kids will have obviously went just to say they did" . Exactly... and that's what annoyed me a LOT haha

What's with all the hype over Hannah wants? She is the most overrated dj out there! Her sets are average at best. Really don't get what all the fuss is about.
Well lets be hearing your sets then balboa? let me guess your one of those guys who spent so much time analyzing music and dj's technically ability that you forgot how to just feel music. I'll agree she's no Richie Hawtin or Dixon but she gets people dancing and in my opinion that's the true calling of a dj.

she claims to be a producer although chris lorenzo does all the work and she claims the credit. same with hot since 82. he doesn't actually produce any of his stuff, just puts his name on it!
she's also a pretty average dj. her track selection is pretty boring tbh!
