What does the purifier actually do? Does it help spread the essential oil around? And then I’d turn off after 2hrs till next day or they are intervals? Or just in the morning

Well, it's not a purifier but a humidifier...it makes the place humid...it depends on its size and space...
with this size...it can only occupy the entire a 1 bed spacer room or small office for single person.... as observed it turned off once it's empty.... the content will last til 2 hours.

Refrain from buying the small ones. Try the 100-1000ml quantity. I love fresh bamboo, lemon, euclyptus, mint, green tea & citronela as mosquito repellant.
