I have the Tacx Flux and have had problems with the pulley system. This afternoon I went to the store I purchased from, and they have ordered me the Flux S as a free upgrade saving me £100. I can't wait to try it. ,,,and your dads home looks ace! "Ride On"
Appreciate the good relationship with your Parent(s) a lot of us don’t have that. Great Vid. I love the tacx Neo any day though, wouldn’t change it for anything.
The problem with the lower end trainers is the lack of torque, meaning you can't do slow heavy efforts. Some of my training inolves 'sprints on a hill' originally from the Spinning program, which are generally 20-30 seconds of 60-70rpm max effort. Most indoor trainers can only handle ~500watts at 60rpm, but i jeed to be able to hit ~1500w peak at ~65rpm. The Neo 2T is the best at the moment and the closest you can get, but you still need to use a 'harder' gear on the bike to reduce torque going to the trainer. Also the flux isnt that quiet, the neo is much quiter, your dad was just at such low rpm the flywheel wasn't spinning very fast. It's at flat road simulated speeds over 20mph that you can tell the difference, the neo is the only trainer anyone makes that doesn't have a belt and separate flywheel, it's inherintly quieter.
Sounds like the indexing is a bit off to me. I might be wrong ofcourse :) Nice video! Looking forward to the Styrkeprøven-video you talked about in the Winter Training video! Let me know if you have any questions about it. Not an expert by any means just I rode it 2018 and planing to ride 2019.
I read that this trainer works with a kid’s Norco 20 inch for Zwift kids. My son is still on his Prevelo 16 inch that I will hook up to a Kurt Kinetic Road Trainer as a free wheel + Garmin sensor (they have an adapter for smaller bikes, but they are sold out). Be cool to have him on a real trainer though.
If your Tacx is underreading there are two possible issues. The first, and most likely, is that the device youre comparing with is overreading. All Tacx smart trainers are calibrated and checked at Tacx HQ. They won’t leave the factory if their offset is more then 2%. Second option is something broke down in the Tacx. Than you should contact Tacx asap. And don’t forget you will see a 4-10 watt diffrence between a crank based in the pedals, cranks, or spider compared to one based in the hub due to the losses of the drivetrain.
First of all - thanks for your great videos! :) I'm thinking of getting one of those, but I live in a pretty old apartment building with hin walls and alot of sound going through the floor. It seems pretty silent, but do u reckon it is silent enough? (I know, really weird question, but maybe you can give me an idea)
have also the flux s and it is verry silent, have had a vortex Roll on and this was for Sure not so silent as the flux.... an old Karpet, and a yoga matt will do the rest ... lot of fun
That, but also the power accuracy, and the some details about erg mode. The Neo is just a little bit better in every aspect I think, but for my and my dads purpose it might not be worth it. A bit like comparing ultegra and dura ace I think.
@@Fernwee Important drawback of the flux S is the maximum simulated incline of 10% compared to the 25% of the neo. That being said, I didn't care that much about max incline so I got myself a flux S a few days ago.
This smart trainer need a regular cassette bearings replacement every 6 months or when the noise of cranking start, don’t use it when it start because it will make worst if you don’t replace it.
It's great to see you and your Dad interacting. Also, good that you are keeping it real. "Do we need the instructions? " NO! LOL
2 things:
the first, Kees is a superstar!
the second, I have never seen a skyscraper in the Netherlands! the view is spectacular!
Bravo again!
Kees says hi ;)

Have to say am lovin’ the interior design..... and I’m a bloke! but damn that view gives me vertigo.
Great vid as always.
Love the view from the window (and large window itself). Reminds me of my last visit to the Netherlands.
Wonderful family .
Keep cycling together

Hi, more than 6 months later. what can u say about Flux S?
Just got my Flux S out of the box and your video was super helpful as there appear to be no useful instructions provided with it. Thanks Guys
Glad to be of help :)

Got this baby today on massive discount and its a bewt!! silent heavy and powerful !
Thx 4 saving me 500 bucks between these two options ;-)!
Hey.👋Congratulations on your purchase.! 👍How many speeds on the machine.?
Hi how is your feelings of use flux s, had you any problems with this bike trainer ?
Great video! May I ask what you need to set up your heart rate using the Flux and Zwift? Thanks.
Broke 2 of them in the last month... went the Neo way... I hope your father won't have trouble with it however!
What a beautiful city.
Hi! Can the neighbours take the noise of the trainer? I plan to buy one too but I am afraid the neighbours will complain...
Haven't had any complaints yet, not even from a girlfriend sleeping in the next room over.
everybody smiles like that when they try zwift for the first time :)

Nice video!......I didn't find the tacx flux powr reading accurate. Did you? (under-reading by 10%)
Hmm, I'm not sure about this, since I don't have a seperate power meter to compare the data. As soon as I do I'll definitely check this!

Hah yeah that's difficult to tell, but I think this type of silent trainer + a good yoga-type mat underneath goes a long way!
have also the flux s and it is verry silent, have had a vortex Roll on and this was for Sure not so silent as the flux.... an old Karpet, and a yoga matt will do the rest ... lot of fun
I have the Same Trainer and i think it's Great
It's quiet and stabil and for an non pro deffenly Great !
I have a mountain bike will it work with this trainer?
How about the settings to get the index right? So that you don't have to adjust when You change from trainer to normal biking. Is that easy?
Using the same cassette i imagine it would be fine? Not 100% on that though

Good point, we'll watch out for it!
You’ll need 6802-2rs ceramic bearing 2 pcs to install it and a circlip plier 4” straight type to remove the circlip inside the cassette hub.
I own a giant mountain bike does this work on this trainer?
No idea...
Hi, does this connect to iPhone Zwift App?
It certainly does.
Thanks, ordered it and expected delivery tomorrow - Looking forward to it
Awesome, ride on!
Your father is cool :)
Nice gaff!
I rode more than 12000km in an ultegra chain🤣🤣
