LOL!!!!! You have a great way of sharing what your business takes. I aspire to live in the country so getting insight on skills needed to be employed.. AWESOME! I hear ya on employees and capital of all the tools... I am A carpenter and just shudder at what it costs to farm!
Great tour. Hey. Everyone has to vent every now and then. No biggie. And I have never met a farmer who didn't hate in the weather occasionally. 😁😁 Have a great day.
Thanks for another interesting video that was enjoyable. First of all my feedback on the rain. I totally undierstand your thoughts on the current weather changes. In your case too much rain damages a hay crop. Where most crops like a fair amount of rain for growth. Do understand your situation on rain versus hay. Hang in there Treavor. Appreciate your tour of the equipment you use. It is so different from the corn and soybeans farm which is me in Iowa. My favorite piece you have is the squeeze. That is a unique piece of equipment for sure. I am amazed when you operate the levers on the fly and make it look so easy. About it for now I guess. You take care and I hope your weather is better for the hay. Take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.
I’ve been operating squeezes for 20 years now!!! It’s crazy, makes me feel old. So it’s like second nature I guess. The levers aren’t even the tricky part. Moving stacks around that aren’t tied down is the real challenge. They fall apart if you hit a big bump. Turn too fast. Thanks for watching!!
Great explanation of to much rain because I feel to much rain and drought same thing both equal things don’t grow I’m not sure but if you have drought tolerant seed that doesn’t grow well with to much water
Premium hay requires perfection in hay making and the weather is beating you up. Only a haymaker understands your woes. We’re in lower Michigan and the Great Lakes effect determines our schedule of hay making. 500 tons per season of premium is a scary weather schedule.
Trever, It's not always sunshine and lollypops. If you didn't have to vent sometimes, I'd kind of wonder about you. People don't understand what it means to make sure the people you have working for you, have to be taken care of and of course your own family. That's a lot of responsibility
Thank you!! I try not to vent or complain too much. In reality, we are so blessed. What amazing wonderful lives we have. I get in the moment and let my emotions take over.
Our water table is very very shallow. 15 to 20 we hit water, and a LOT of it. It’s extremely salty though. We also get water from city water treatment plant, so we’re recycling water. We might lose a very small amount. However, other irrigation districts are losing a lot more!
hey brother you know, you win some and lose some. But you guys are the best in the west. Thanks for the all the cool videos. Now all we need to figure out the real question, why do they call a haymaker a haymaker? cheers.
I know exactly what you mean with the spiders. A couple days after cutting the field would be covered in a million webs, like little bridges between every plant. After raking I would be covered in webs.
You don't need to feel bad about the rain. The rain you got came at a time that doesn't fit your business model. That is why you irrigate when you need it.
I've have never known a farmer that wasn't complaining about to much or not enough rain. Even if things are perfect. You take what you get, complain about it, then just deal with the situation. After all, if we had any sense we would just farm any way. Take care.
So the theory is, “they last longer” especially for tractors that go up and down the road a lot. Is it true 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t know. We need to do a test run on some new tires one year.
Anyone who works outside understands what you're talking about. in my line of work I need the rain too, I just don't want it to keep me from working or hurting the work I've done. No need to explain yourself to dummys.
9430 is around 430 HP..... Do yourself a favor, please. Wash those JD putt putts off and drive in the parade with your Dad, THIS YEAR. DO IT. Trust me. Life is short. Nice line up/
Definitely way more than 400hp. It has 8 tires. That’s at least 100hp per tire. I’ll settle at 800hp. I know. I need to get them going. Unfortunately it’s nonstop around here.
That 9430 only has 425hp. But hearing you call a engine a motor is disturbing. Perhaps your a big Tesla fan of the motors which are driven by batteries whereas a engine is operated on diesel, gasoline, or propane.
It has way more ponies than that! At least 150 hp per tire. And I’m a fan of anything that goes fast. And technically some Tesla’s run on oil & gas too. Not all electricity is green 😉
As Jason sits in his parents basement bitter he has nothing..... dude you don't like what Trevor has to say move on dude !!! Your constantly on here bitching and crying

I liked this series you explained how the squeeze levers worked. When you are running it your yanking and slapping levers big time. Thx
VERY interesting. I've always wondered how you made that squeeze work

some people do not realize, that you have employees and their families that are also depending on that hay to grow and not get destroyed.
Bingo. Lots of rain means lots of lost money.
Too much or untimely rain will destroy hay quality. Never apologize for complaining about rain costing you money. Great video and great channel.

Why are back tires on rake tractors backward?
backward tires help with traction.
@@max-jc4wq tractor tires get the most traction facing forward so it can't be for traction unless he wants less traction for some reason
@@mikew732 on combines you get more traction with the back tire backwords.
