He does the character, including the physicality of the character.... NOT just the voices! When will people get it right? It's a whole performance. Not just voiceover. PUPPETEERS DON'T JUST DO VOICES.
I really miss him as Kermit, you can so hear Kermit in his normal voice. Matt Vogel I'm sure is a great puppeteer, but Steve really embodied Kermit and there couldn't have been better person to carry over from Jim Henson (since he knew him personally and professionally). Though we had to one day have someone take over from Steve, just wish he could've carried on for a few more years.
I can’t believe he doesn’t get insulted every time somebody says he does “voices.” Not that there’s anything wrong with being a voice actor, but puppeteering is a whole physical performance. If you’re really interested in these things, please do your homework.
This interview, is music to my hungry ears, having been following Steve Whitmire for some time - through the trenches- and seeing him about to emerge out of the tunnel into the new light. Those of us who have been through these days are anxiously awaiting his new website, and brilliant new character, with all the antics he's got prepared to wow and entertain us. I mention dear Muppet expert Mary A, who has met Steve, and is part of our group. I trust her to give us all the wonderful news through Frog of La Mancha and to keep us abreast of the new show., Being on Instagram, I follow Steve and can't wait for this to begin.
This guy was worked the dark crystal. Labyrinth .Fragile rock . What a fantastic talent. His Kermit can never be replaced I always loved when he was ok n interviews as Kermit . He was funny and made it funny for adults and kids as well Thanks for all your amazing talents keep going stronger then ever. I am a big fan and will always watch and support your your work .
No. It's switched around. You wake up, smell the roses and do real researching about Walt Disney. Or are you too just as bad, racist, sexist and evil as Walter Elias himself was? 😡
Okay, honestly I like Disney movies and all that so I’m not really fond of your comment. On the other hand, Phillip kippel here loves to talk trash about Steve whitmire in every single muppet video I’m on so I agree with you more than mr. Phillip. Just get a hobby, dude! Stop dissing this longtime muppeteer!
Buddy, I knew that Disney was Racist long ago. Besides, I outgrew Disney long ago and don't even give a fuck if the rest of the world still loves Disney or not because I sure as hell don't.
@@Asukenick I dont care if he was difficult either. In my opinion he did the best improv in interviews, and I'm an 80s child so I lived through Jim and then steve. Steve really brought kermit alive with adult humor which is what I always wanted. The ABC series they did for one season was the best muppets performance, writing, etc. Hannds down. I wish they would have continued with it
The voice of one of the most iconic characters ever but won't do the voice at the comic cons? Well that's mega disappointing! That's like going to a basketball game and the players say they don't feel like making baskets that day. What?!
Philip Kippel lemme ask you something, how come on every single muppet video that I’m on with your comment on it, you always have something negative to say about Steve whitmire? I mean, this is literally an interview with Steve whitmire himslef! You have no business being here if all your gonna do is insult the man and say cruddy things about him when he’s been with and worked with the muppets for over 35 years. You have know idea what he’s been through, and if all you’re gonna do is believe the rumors that he was a bad person and think bad of him, keep it to yourself because none of us true muppet fans wanna here it and quite frankly, I don’t think it does you any good either. Anyways, have a good day :) 😂
Josh Berman also, why do you hate Disney so much dude? He was a typical white guy at the time. Racist, sexist, all that. It was the 1900s! The people who founded universal and Warner bros. We’re also racists and sexists! It doesn’t do you any good to diss mr. Disney! Anyways have a good day.
Just about all of his animated features contains hidden subliminal and sexual messages. There's also countless racism and sexism in just about every single one of his movies. Even on the so called friendly Disney Channel, there are hidden racism and sexist crap as well. Check out Jessie for instance. And besides, most of the other cartoon companies haven't been getting the same amount of attention that Disney always gets lately and a lot of people think that Disney is the only cartoon company around and thinks that it's the only family friendly thing to kids that they constantly talk about it 24/7 that it makes me glad that I have no kids.
As much as i enjoy Fraggle Rock: The Animated Series, the voice actor of Wembley in that series doesn't sound like Steve's Wembley (Unlike Rob's Boober which is a spot on impression of Dave Goelz, i don't hear a Steve Whitmire impression from Bob Bergen at all but that's just me. I'll cut them some slack.)
He does the character, including the physicality of the character.... NOT just the voices! When will people get it right? It's a whole performance. Not just voiceover. PUPPETEERS DON'T JUST DO VOICES.
Calm down.
M M no, it bothers a lot of fans. People need to give them the full credit they deserve
He actually animates Kermit better then the new guy

It makes me wonder when it's Dave's time who will do Gonzo as good as him?
Great opinion
Or zoot dr Bunsen honeydew boober fraggle uncle traveling Matt Beauregard Waldorf and others
I hear a little bit of Kermit and Ernie when he’s talking

3:32 Steve Whitmire has a new Project and a new character in the works? I’m very curious to see this :)

Love this so much. Steve is a beautiful human being.
And Walt Disney was not.

Okay, fine. You're entitled to like Disney, but this is exactly who I am and I'm sorry.

I really love this guy!
Very Cool Interview....
Thank you. He was fun to talk to. I wish he could have done the voices on video. That would have been incredible, but he couldn't, unfortunately.
Steve Whitmire's voice of Ernie, Kermit the Frog and Beaker sounds right to me. Just the best. 🇺🇸 👍👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😀😀
Steve is still my hero
Jessica Hall Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise cause someone keeps telling me not to like him just because he may have been difficult.

I'm glad he's moving on.

He actually started a series, it’s called Cave-In.
Looks like Steve Whitmire must join the Star Wars additional voices and English Dubbed Anime movies.
He looks a little like Jim Henson
And they both share the same birthday.
Disney Loser👎🏻

Hey There Steve Whitmire! Nice to meet you! I’m Andrew Taylor!
_Welp, I just have one thing to say after this whole interview:_
Me me me me me!!!!! You forgot about the one, the only *BEAKER!!*
Steve did that great but I give more credit to the late Richard Hunt.
Adam Sukenick ye, good idea. There were actually many muppets Steve did that weren’t mentioned in this video, but I’d agree with you.
@@FreeSpiritPaulette Lets not forget Statler. Richard did that and than Jerry Nelson did before Steve.
Adam Sukenick indeed
Steve reminds me a little of Brian May a little...
Interesting... I'm a big Queen fan. How does Steve Whitmire remind you of Brian May?
Steve Whitmire Made His Voice Of His Character Stuckweed
Guy on the right sounds more like Kermit.
I like his Ernie voice
Me too
So do I
Kermyyyyyyyy
wasn't he also Sprocket and Lips?
Yes
Adam Sukenick wembly and rizzo too
Steve and Jim were the only true Kermits
Definitely but I still give some credit to Matt.

I didn't like the cartoon at all.
Is Weldom a Muppet?
