The thick, heavy sound of the double bass with the other instruments is just mesmerizing 🤤
Just wow! and kudos to the sound engineer.
Wonderful playing of Dvorak at his masterful best - and it shows that the double bass should be taken seriously as a chamber music instrument!
There are outstanding examples in the numerous works for quintet with DB of the poorly known French composer ONSLOW.
Dvorak always revealing in his melodic genius and this playing is beyond its revealing. Stunning.
This is Dvorak at his best and this ensemble at their best. What a winning combination!!!
Superb performance! The interpretation is perfect; not too active or intense...this is Dvorak, not Brahms.
I bow to you all the players. You guys make my day.
Gahhh I need more chamber music with bass! Love it.
Hermosa obra, para mi desconocida, en una interpretación muy ajustada, armónica y de belleza "nostálgica"
the first movement is so stormy! great players
3rd movement so beautiful💕
Most exciting chamber music performance ever!
¡Qué exquisitez! Un deleite de perfección. 💚💜🙏🌻🌸🌈😍🌞🎹🎼🎻
Sol y Andrès reciban mi sincero reconocimiento por su esplèndida ejecuciòn de este bello quinteto.
Desde Mèxico y para Argentina.
0:02 M I. Allegro con fuoco
10:54 M II. Allegro vivace
18:32 M III. Poco andante
25:53 M IV. Allegro assai
My favorite part I've heard yet is the end of 2nd movement where the key sig changes from G major to E.
these people that edit these videos without knowing the music drive us all crazy. if you don't know where to point your camera do a general shot and leave it alone.
I HATE what they did to Alma's Carnegie Hall gig! Audio sucked, too.
So excited to see Sol play with her brother!!
Brilliant. Intense. Channelling Dvorak to perfection.
Maravillosa versión!
Супер! Спасибо большое 🌹
I had a terrible experience with this piece in school (a group that catastrophically did not get along), and have avoided it at all costs since. It's a shame since it is wonderful music.
Parabéns, magnífico ❤
Solo un comentario...esplendida interpretación
Dang, their body language is so active I had to check the speed setting.
Bravoooooo
연주도 훌륭하고 시종일관 부드러운 미소를 지으며 관람하는 품격 있는 관객들도 퍽 아름다워 보이는 좋은 영상입니다. Thanks a Lot!!!
Thanks to you.
Perfection! Perfect music, interpretation, camera, outfits...
Beautiful balanced.
Double bass does it for me
Bravo!
Gemma Sol !... Woha ? Weisnet !!... ;-)
Why is this String Quintet “No. 2?” As far as I know, the only other string quintet by Dvorak is the Viola Quintet in E-flat, but that one dates from 1894. Usually n a work is renumbered, it is numbered based on its opus number (if there is one) or its year of composition. So this quintet should be No. 1.
Indeed, this is the only one for double bass (from 1875). But you have String Quintet No. 1 Op. 1 (1861) and No. 3 Op. 97 "American" (1893).
@Leonardo T. Oliveira is correct. Dvorak's String Quintet no. 1 in A minor is dated 1861. Dvorak's String Quintet no. 3 in E-flat is also what you call "Viola Quintet"/"American", dated 1893.
25:51 4th movement
Stupendous
Great performance but mismatch video editing.
You don't like chamber concerts shot like a Transformers movie?
No dimwit, some shots are not audio+video matched left and right correctly.
25:53
nice camera work
Why does that bass have 5 strings?
It's a 5 string bass
In classical music 4 string basses have an extension on the lowest string that enables them to simulate the fifth string when the clamp is released.

👍🏽
0:04 I want somebody to stare at me like that playing my bass like that gentlemen in the audience behind the violist.
hello fellow bassist
hello fellow bassists🌝
Excelent musicians.
Very bad camera work.
Amateuristic. Swims without reason from one to another.
It is active, - too active. It is stressed. Every single person here - except the bass player - is driven, as it is obviously normal, nowadays. Look at their faces! Highest energy is not always best energy.
I agree with this assessment 100%
I disagree completely
@@TheDusty1920 the great thing about music is that there are so many ways to interpret it and so many ways to receive it!
@@aliciarandisi-hooker424 Agreed ;) Wise words. That's the wonder of music
i know what you mean, but i think it works really well for this piece
