I just bought this lock! It’s so pretty but for some reason the inside lock/unlock doesn’t work unless the physical key is inserted. Any ideas how to fix this?!
Hi Lindsay - Here to help! To fix this, please open the door and place the latch in the locked position. Remove the keys from the cylinder. Unscrew and remove the interior assembly of the lock. Reattach the interior assembly ensuring that the flat blade is in the vertical position as shown on page 13. I had the same problem but the key wouldn’t come out. After taking it apart several time and the lock still not working correctly, I put the rekey tool in to release the key and everything worked fine. This was all due to not removing the key before programming. I bet this is very common.

@@kwikset We are having the exact same problem with our lock. First User Code was fine but the lock won't let us add a second code. Very frustrating!! Might have to return it.
I installed this on my front where the dead bolt was right to left to lock it. I reinstalled it on my back door where the dead bolt is left to right to lock it. Now when I punch in my user code the door locks instead of unlocking. I’ve tried resetting to default but that does not help and I’m back to the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unscrew and remove the interior assembly of the lock. Reattach the interior assembly ensuring that the tailpiece is in the vertical position as shown on page 13. I just bought this lock and at 4:11 the mounting screws that came with the product doesn’t screw into the mounting bracket…… annoyed now I gotta go return this because I was close to completing the installation. Horrible.

Replace the batteries with name-brand alkaline and not lithium or rechargeable batteries. 3. Test the lock with the door open, then test the lock with the door closed and make adjustments if needed. My keypad doesn’t flash green nor does it make any sound while trying to set it up. Still couldn’t set a unlock code as well.
