this song is the ultimate definition of impossible (possible just for mariah lol). The tenderness and delicacy but at the same time power and control needed are out this world…definitely one of the best tracks in mariah’s discography, she definitely knows how to sing but most of all she knows how to use a pen!!!
i think she nailed the song because the way she shifts from low notes and high notes is crazy she has control over her voice and she sang this live suffering from throat sicknes!!! are you kidding me ??? she's just one of the best in fact the best singer i think that has been on American Idol history .. .. just my opinion

@@colynians she was really sick this night. She had a sore throat and u can hear it in the other performances she did this night. Since she was really sick she decided not to sing the climax, she still nailed it. She did great

I used to watch her and be amazed at how perfect she sounded. & now that I'm older and know more tehnicalities or whatever, but I'm so amazed at how she executed this song. it is sooooooo not easy for someone to hit the notes she did , almost impossible. I can't believe how easy she made it seem, I miss when tv was this good! I lived for her and Candice Glover every damn week!

You all missed the point of the song choice as Jlo said she wanted to show that Jessica has this type of control. You can tell she has no problem in doing crazy vocal transition. She went for the climax in her studio version.
