Mavs have never been shy about pushing their chips all in on big moves (spending around Dirk for the title year, grabbing Kyrie AND resigning him, yeeting Grant Williams a few months into the massive free agent aquisition, etc) and with core resigned they really only need to move off Tim Hardaway or Maxi Kleba in order to get the DJJ resigned. They could also use draft capital or Kleba, Hardaway, or Green ($39 million combined salary) to grab one other big time role player. Luka should be motivated to FINALLY take the offseason to really get into good shape and maximize his effectiveness on the defensive end. I'm not a Dallas fan but the team itself WITH KYRIE as the 2 already got them to the finals with a tough road beating out the top seeds in the west in 6, 6 and 5. That's absolutely building blocks.

Despite their best player dealing with multiple injuries, the Mavs never had home court advantage for their series with the numbers 1, 3, and 4 seeds in the West and the number 1 seed in the East but managed to win three series before losing to the better team in the Finals. No excuses, the Celtics have a really good team and handily earned the best overall record in the league for the regular season and steamrolled every team in the playoffs. Congrats to them.
I thought Dallas would be the champs but the Celtics were much stronger than expected and the easy path through the east was fooling me. I think Dallas could need another lengthy 3&D like Oubre or KCP. Lively will make a leap and maybe become a spot-up shooter, Hardy looked good in his limited minutes and might leap as well. Josh Green is sitting between the chairs somehow since he would probably thrive with more minutes but at this point the Mavs can´t afford to give him more playing time. Dallas should be proud of their season

Kyrie and Luka got to the finals with a rookie center (Lively), two new additions that weren't fully integrated (Gafford, Washington), an injured Kleba, and honestly a mediocre coach in Kidd.
Mavs have never been shy about pushing their chips all in on big moves (spending around Dirk for the title year, grabbing Kyrie AND resigning him, yeeting Grant Williams a few months into the massive free agent aquisition, etc) and with core resigned they really only need to move off Tim Hardaway or Maxi Kleba in order to get the DJJ resigned. They could also use draft capital or Kleba, Hardaway, or Green ($39 million combined salary) to grab one other big time role player. Luka should be motivated to FINALLY take the offseason to really get into good shape and maximize his effectiveness on the defensive end.
I'm not a Dallas fan but the team itself WITH KYRIE as the 2 already got them to the finals with a tough road beating out the top seeds in the west in 6, 6 and 5. That's absolutely building blocks.

Mavericks fans. I was really hoping you’d guys win because I hate the Celtics (lakers fan) but I love Kyrie and Luka. Despite the loss, this was a really good season. Very few people thought you guys would make the finals back in October. Guys should be proud of this season. Despite their best player dealing with multiple injuries, the Mavs never had home court advantage for their series with the numbers 1, 3, and 4 seeds in the West and the number 1 seed in the East but managed to win three series before losing to the better team in the Finals. No excuses, the Celtics have a really good team and handily earned the best overall record in the league for the regular season and steamrolled every team in the playoffs. Congrats to them.

I thought Dallas would be the champs but the Celtics were much stronger than expected and the easy path through the east was fooling me. I think Dallas could need another lengthy 3&D like Oubre or KCP. Lively will make a leap and maybe become a spot-up shooter, Hardy looked good in his limited minutes and might leap as well. Josh Green is sitting between the chairs somehow since he would probably thrive with more minutes but at this point the Mavs can´t afford to give him more playing time.
