The only reason why Onochie was obsessively controlling over his daughters was not for nothing else other than misogyny. He hated the fact that he didn’t have a son, so he took out that frustration on his daughters under the guise of being overprotective, and caused them more harm than good. This explains why he kept on humiliating and making their lives miserable, all in the name of “fatherly love”. Even after his exit from the hospital, instead of his friend to admonish him, he put the blame on “women and their troubles”, as if Onochie wasn’t the architect of his troubles. It’s a very pathetic and disturbing storyline because it reinforces the idea that women are not good enough. And that no matter how responsible a man is for his own misfortune, a woman must surely be blamed. It is always women’s fault.

This movie just trashed the conventional way of living .. how can your daughter who you haven’t seen for years come back with a heavy stomach and introduce a husband to you who you’ve never met before like how was the bride price paid… so the Christian daughter was fornicating along… and why will a man with the fear of God and that morally disciplined cheat on wife and causal want to take in the side chick as a second wife …
