This is how I would invest $20k if I were to start over 💸
1. I would invest $8k into an S&P 500 ETF, like SPY, VOO, or SPLG.
2. I would invest $6k into a technology growth ETF, like QQQ or QQQM
3. I would invest $4k into a high dividend paying ETF like SCHD. I would first invest in these ETF’s in a Roth IRA and then a taxable brokerage account like Fidelity, Vanguard or Schwab.
4. I would have $2k in a high-yield savings account or money market.

As an investment enthusiast, I often wonder how top-level investors are able to become millionaires through investing. I have a significant amount of capital to start with, but I'm unsure about the strategies and direct I should take to help me generate substantial profits like some people are this season.
I’m not in a position to offer financial advice, but given the significant amount of capital you're working with, it would be wise to consult a financial advisor who can guide you in developing a strategy tailored to your goals and risk tolerance.
Factos!!. After experiencing a major portfolio loss in 2020 amid the COVID pandemic while trying to manage my investments on my own, I reached out to an investment advisor. They helped me turn my $420k into a seven-figure portfolio by providing the guidance and strategy I needed. Having that expertise made a significant difference in my investment journey.
@@JulienBerkay Thanks for sharing your experience! I’ve been managing my portfolio myself, but it’s not working out. Do you have any recommendations for a good investment advisor? I could really use some help.
@@ErmalMaxharraj Elizabeth cordle gross a highly respected figure in his field. I suggest delving deeper into his credentials, as he possesses extensive experience and serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking guidance in navigating the financial market.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I really needed it. I looked her up on Google and explored her website; she has an impressive background in investments. I've sent her an email, and I hope to hear back from her soon!
Doing exactly this with $200,000 at 76 years old. Thank you. ❤
If he followed his own advice at his age he would be at 200k at best at his age not 1 million
@@goldguilder9554Just throwing the $20k in there & leaving it alone is not what he means. Thats not the move. You continue reinvesting the dividends back into your portfolio & adding money to your personal brokerage account also. + a lot of people’s jobs contribute to a retirement account. Even only adding $20 more weekly is $1k extra a year invested + dividends you reinvested + employer contributions if you’re working.
Now imagine the people that add $5k+ of their own money to these accounts yearly on top of dividends, employer contributions, & the yearly growth.
@@goldguilder9554why’s that
But hopefully not with all. If you split your money, it will not crash and be 0, but it might crash that you need to wait 10-20 years until you see profits.
If you cannot wait that long (for example because you are old allready) stocks might not be the best investment.
What's your general monthly? I'm currently helping a 77 yr old
I currently have 75% SCHD and 25% SCHG Roth IRA. Brokerage account is SCHD, VGT, VUG, alongside some individual stocks! Just passed 500K from an initial 75K startup in 2022. I am 43 and I plan on working until 50 hope to be at ~$1M soon enough
I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I'm still learning and made some mistakes. As a double major in economics, I've been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!!
Nice. I'm doing some research on VUG & SCHD now, seems like very solid choices. Congrats on nearing retirement. 7 years will fly.....unless of course you hate your job lol....
That's a lot of money in 2 years!
I love my 25-year career as a mechanic for a major airline. One regret is not exploring financial markets sooner, but I've found success with a trusted expert. His team manages my funds, providing conservative recommendations on market entry/exit points. This hands-off approach simplifies investing for me, making it stress-free and rewarding.
@ric-morris Who is the expert you working with? can i get a recommendation?
I have 11k in VOO and another 11k IN SCHD. I like those dividend growths
🙌
What was your buy in for VOO if you don’t mind me asking? And how is SCHD working out for you compared to VOO? Thanks
I am new to investing. Does it make sense to hold both VTI and VOO? If it doesn't, which one would you get rid of?

Is it better to use Vanguard than Robinhood for long term investment?
I have tried different combinations but nothing has performed like VOO
Over the past 10 years, QQQ has had annualized average returns of 18.87% , compared to 13.59% for VOO

Hey Steve, like your videos! Im 32, just started a Roth IRA in Fidelity. Currently hold FXAIX. Though i was thinking to add SCHG and SCHD though not sure about SCHD at my age as i want to focus on growth. Thoughts? You prefer QQQM over SCHG? Thanks in advance!
I personally prefer SCHG over QQQ. Its performed better over the past year, offers more diversification w/ approx. 230 holdings, and has a lower expense ratio.
You’re 37?!?! Damnnn you look young
VOO , VGT.. then VYM and VIG. And i like SCHG over VUG if going w large growth. Or put all in VGT for 30 yrs. Lol. Self made ay.
Any of these accounts can be setup for Canadian?
Any advice for investing about 10 till 20 k.What options are good short and what about 5 years term???
Great!

what you do with a 55k IRA account at age 60?
Would you do the same strategy at 38? Or you mean you would do that the younger you? How would you invest 20K at 38? With current $0
I would do an S&P500 index fund over an S&P500 etf because you can add any amount and not have to buy a full share every time.
You can buy any dollar amount with ETF…
@@Go90go90-q4hThat's only true depending on your brokerage. For example my Ally invest does not allow fractional ETF purchases but my Vanguard account does
I am looking to open accounts for my nephews, what do you suggest?
Can i just do 10k schd and 10k snp 500 etf?

How can you invest that much money in a roth ira if the minimum is $750?
Minimum is $8000 for over 55, I believe $7000 for under. You can verify.
@@blayespestcontrol6900you invest what you can. There is no minimum. There is a 7k yearly limit that you can contribute right now. Once you max it out, invest whatever else you can through a brokerage account

im 37 i work as It Tech. I have 30k to invest but dont know whats the best way..not sure to choose btwn roth IRA ( index funds and mutual plus some dividends) or Traditional brokerage (ETFs and dividends).. Id love to clarify whats the best option,, Id like earnings and a safe retirement plan. PLEASE Id appreciate any advice.
You do both. First you max out your 7k yearly contribution in a roth ira then you invest the rest in a brokerage account.
Don’t forget to buy stocks once you make your contributions.
You have to know what to buy and research.
I maxed my Roth IRA 2024 in SPLG! Next year I want to immediately max out my Roth. I have high interest in SCHD but I’m curious of your thoughts. Great video!

What’s better schd or 4.3% interest from fidelity money market account ?
Hello I follow you and love your content. You are so helpful in breaking down the knowledge behind investing. Would you a platform like Robinhood ? I have some NVIDIA and Amazon there just wondering if I should invest in the ETF’s on that platform as well.
If you are considering investing a substantial amount of money, I would pivot over to a more established & reputable brokerage firm with a long track record such as the ones recommended in the video. These firms offer ‘real’ client support with professionals to assist you with financial planning. Personally, I would sleep a lot better at night with my retirement funds being managed by one of these companies as opposed to an app.
What do you mean by “I would first invest in Roth IRA then taxabake brokerage account?” Can you explain this more?
I'll talk about this more at my Master Class tonight! Sign up for my upcoming Master Class here -> bit.ly/4aMYrx8 🙂
Max what your allowable limit is in the Roth IRA first then rest in taxable. Example I'm 52, so I can only put 8k in Roth IRA! The rest will go in taxable account. Allocate %'s or each ETF in both accounts.
@@CalltoLeapcan I still sign up for this class?
Thoughts on FDVV as an alternative to SCHD? Would you recommend that as well?
