I love how jesse and Howard were like.. let's not do the van halen david lee roth vs sammy haggar bullsh!t... this is both of ours, you're always welcome on stage when you feel like it
God that's making me think of the song "The Dagger" from the Roadrunner United Record. It had both Howard and Rob Flynn of Machine Head and it's still one of my favorite songs 18 years later. A whole album like that would never leave my rotation.
Jesse Leach is a great vocalist. Disarm the Descent is one of my fav KSE records. I had hoped The Signal Fire would've put the comparison thing to bed, and make fans realize that it was dumb to begin with. But unfortunately there will always be those care too much about who is better. They're both talented and have unique styles from one another, but both compliment the music of KSE so well on their own way. Speaks volumes for Jesse as a songwriter that almost 25 years later My Last Serenade is still one of the closing songs on the majority of their sets. Fantastic song writer and an even more fantastic credit to the human race.
Yes, Howard has one of the best voices in metal, but I also like Jesse's vocals and also his lyrics. I got into KSE during Howard's era, but My Last Serenade was my favourite song for many, many, many years. It sucked when Howard left, but I was SO excited when Jesse rejoined KSE. Both Howard's and Jesse's eras had slightly different sounds, but to me they both sounded like KSE, if that makes sense. The Signal Fire is the first song to replace My Last Serenade as my favourite song, not only because it is genuinely a fantastic song, but because they're both in it. I absolutely love this band, whether its with Howard or Jesse. In a perfect world, they'd both be KSE vocalists full time together.
i love em both! they both made a massive contribution . we can all just be thanfull that there exists some immortal rock and roll on tape never to be erased.i love killswitch man their integrity and thats it right
Absolutely, that’s why I respect Jesse very much. He could’ve stayed where he was as a let’s face it subpar vocalist, but he improved his singing skills so much compared to his alive or just breathing days. Yes, he’ll never be Howard, but that’s fine. Jesse is a beast vocalist in his own rights.
Criticisms of Jesse's vocals in the alive or just breathing is freaking ridiculous lol. He's never been subpar at anything. His screams are way better than Howards. KsE became significantly less heavy after Jesse left and they wrote more around Howards cleans and there's definitely a reason for that.
@@Rob_Cary Jessie will never sing like or be as good as Howard especially live, he’s admitted it himself in an interview. Screaming id say they’re about even but I’d give the slight edge to Jessie because those deeps he does are nasty.
always humbling jesse personally you are both amazing singers in your own right signal fire is my fave song as you both sing it will alway follow you both
He's on a different level. Not one above Jesse in any way. Jesses screams demolish Howards in impact, range, and intensity. Howard and Jesse both have great cleans and it just depends if you like Howards super clean and soulful style or Jesse's more impassioned wailing. This whole thing about Howard being leagues above Jesse as a vocalist is silly as hell.
I love both singers! amatory figured out that the new singer wasn't like the original singer, now both of them are in the band doing it like Killswitch!!
I prefer Jesse's vocals by far, both harsh and clean, but I like Howard's a lot too. Disarm The Descent still is my favorite KSE album, and The Turning Point, My Last Serenade and You Don't Bleed For Me are my 3 favorite songs by them.
This was awesome, Jesse's impersonation of Adam was hilarious. Personally I truly love both vocalists and it's extremely hard for me to choose who I would prefer. So I don't lol. Both of them are unique and obviously they're both very versatile, or they wouldn't be able to perform each other's songs!!
Jesse is so honest and upfront in a world of BS. So freaking refreshing, I love Howards clean vocals and Jesse's angry screams. They both are amazing in their own different way. I have songs with both of them. And Alive and Just breathing is a masterpiece. My Last Serenade is one of my favorite metalcore songs, hands down
I think Jesse is very underrated and doesn‘t get enough Credit for his singing. Listen to burden of disbelief i think his vocal Performance on that Song was absolute insane. I think he matured through the years and is now on the lvl of Howard i like him more than howard now. The last kse Album was very good
Howard is legendary no doubt. But but the last 3 KSE albums are some of the best material they've ever put out. Quiet Distress is in my top 5 all time KSE. That's all Jesse.
Ive seen kse 3 times with Howard over the years but watching jesse open for iron maiden in perth last night melted my fu*king face , i love howard but jessy was 100% fire 🔥
I've always been a huge fan of both Jesse and howard. When jesse left and howard came in, howard took killswitch to new heights!! Then when jesse came back when howard left he also elevated killswitch yet again. The thing i'd love to see is killswitch engage and Light the torch merge as 1 massive super heavy metal group!! Now before you disagree look how howard and jesse did The signal Fire. That song was an absolute masterpiece!! If you look at all the success that linkin park had in there mixed genre with dual lead vocalists i think killswitch could do that even bigger and better in the metal genre with both howard and jesse.
The most underrated and almost just disrespected vocalist out there, Jesse (and band too) are still different and innovation to the genre to this day! they don't sound like the rest because they've always been organic. most Jesse haters are casual KSE listeners at best and maybe heard 5 songs and never put the time into each of the last 3 albums as they truly deserve, or their opinion might actually make sense.
This comment is a bit of nonsense to me personally. I first got into KSE in 2002 but the band peaked for me during the Howard years. I know a lot of people who feel this way (with some exceptions, like anything) and adore the band. I think you're making a blanket statement. Following up to the Howard years with a trained vocalist was an extremely hard task... and anyone thinking they didn't or can't reach that high again with Jesse doesn't mean they aren't giving it a try.
@@Batman1084CK I'm saying too many people slander Jessie and that he's better than a lot of people fail to credit him or even give the rest of the albums a chance to listen to. He is powerful in all of them and he does a damn good job. I agree with you on the task Jesse undertook and the way he has handled it with respect. I just see a lot of opinions on Jesse that make me think they haven't actually spent the time needed in the albums he's on
I agree with Tman. The only "new heights" Killswitch got taken too when Howard joined was becoming more accessible to the masses. KsE is always driven to be heavier when Jesse is here. And i like Howard. But when people say Howard is on this whole higher plane than Jesse, you gotta wonder if they know anything about vocals.
I was wondering why I like him…he didn’t try to be Howard. I really liked Howard but Jessie has had some fuckin great hard songs and a few really emotional ones too. He can’t be, it’s the same thing with Lajon from sevendust. He sounds so fucking good.
Jesse has better hard vocals and Howard has better cleans how do we make both bring them together.... KILLSWITCH WOULD BE THE BEST WITH BOTH JESSE AND HOWARD TOGETHER ❤️
And There Is NOTHING Wrong With That. I Like Them Both, Jesse Has That Grit, That Coarseness I Like In Screamed Vocals, Howard Possesses That Grit, Though Has A Smoothness To His, That I Also Like. I Personally Prefer Howard, His Voice Has This Soul In It That Vibes With My Spirit. ☺️☺️☺️
I love how jesse and Howard were like.. let's not do the van halen david lee roth vs sammy haggar bullsh!t... this is both of ours, you're always welcome on stage when you feel like it
Jesse is one of my biggest vocal inspirations. Why does a podcast that had this amazing dude on only have 75 subscribers?? 76 now.
I want KSE to release an album with both vocalists!
haha wouldn't that be something!
That would be AMAZING!!

100%
Totally agree they're both amazing. signal fire, like the interviewer said, was an absolute treat.
Jesse and Howard are both awesome. In Due Time is one of the band's best songs vocally.
Part of the reason i love these guys. Humble, REAL, class.
I like the emotion and rawness of Jesse. I also like Howard’s soul and singing. They’re both amazing
Integrity. Jesse is not only talented, he also has great music taste
❤❤❤️😎🎉 I immediately thought the same. hometown heroes of Cleveland.#216
Speaking of Integrity, Jesse is inspired by Integrity’s lead vocalist, haha.
Both are great❤🤘🤘
Jesse is the mid-to-high, Howard is the mid-to-low. Together, they are the ying & yang. A balance that's been needed.
Yes, Howard has one of the best voices in metal, but I also like Jesse's vocals and also his lyrics. Agreed mate, both vocalists have equally contributed to make KSE a monumental band, and it's been so awesome to have been a fan throughout each era!
i love em both! they both made a massive contribution . we can all just be thanfull that there exists some immortal rock and roll on tape never to be erased.i love killswitch man their integrity and thats it right
I’ve Not Heard “My Last Serenade” However, That’s Freaking Awesome That Both Howard And Jesse Are Both On That Track!!!
@@One_of_Many750 My Last Serenade was before Howard joined KSE, so it's just Jesse singing but you should definitely check it out! It's a KSE classic.
Jesse's voice is even better now than when he made Alive or Just Breathing.

Humble as hell. God dang Jesse, much respect.
I love how Killswitch is bigger than one guy, and they operate that way. Class acts all the way.
Each Plays Their Part, And Does So With Respect To Each Other.
Plot twist: Killswitch is Adam D. :DD
Personally Howard And Jesse Are Both Incredible Vocalists With Adam Providing Incredible Clean Vocals.
Love Adam’s Backing Vocals In “Rose of Sharyn”.
