Dude, you bring so much joy to my life with these videos. Thanks for being you and for sharing quality (and helpful!) content with the world. I love it. From one bag nerd to another, cheers!
I quite enjoy how worked up you get about things. When you were ramping up to the toiletry kit and then you were like "AH EFF IT HERE'S MY TOILETRIES!" definitely love the energy 😂
Awesome review Chase! Just ordered one from WANDRD during an early Black Friday sale for $139. I got an extra 15% off for doing a product review for a tech pouch. At that price it’s a crazy steal!
@@on3i256 I had purchased a tech pouch and they sent a special email to me that said 'do a review and we will send you a code for an additional 15% off even on sale items' I hope they will do that for you! But it requires another purchase.. You should just pull the trigger before these bags are gone. At $140, it is a steal. It's an amazing bag and the straps are shockingly well designed for fit and comfort
I have it too and used it for numerous trip already - Im so - so on it still, and the straps dont support you fully when its packed to the T... wish the straps were more cushioned. Great review tho!
I love your Dad mode role playing. Oh how I feel your pain! We’re bringing our two boys (4 & 2) to Hawaii next month. I haven’t looked to see if you’ve already made one yet, but I’d love to see your family traveling loadout in a video
I've been using this for the past few months as a traveling dj that carries a bit of tech with me. It's been a revelation to carry a mixer and my clothes for a few weeks in one bag
A little late to the party with this video but I recently got the 35L Carry-All duffel. With any black on black on black bag I get, the first thing I do is swap out the zipper pulls with different coloured pulls that you can easily buy on Amazon. It really breaks up the sea of black and the confusion. It really helped with the use of the bag after getting used to what zipper colour corresponds to which pocket. I wish, WISH they used a #10 on the main compartment lid, I saw your 60L duffel vid and noticed the main lid uses a #10, on the 35L, it uses a #8 :( Keep on doing great things Chase, with this and Fizzle!
Great and funny review as always. I have this bag and I agree with you that the zippers don't move as smoothly as I would like. Something that was not discussed is that there are two small zippered pockets (not just one) on the outside of the bag and one of them is RFID, so it would be good for your wallet and/or passport. Also there are two sets of zippers for the pocket where the straps meet at the top because, while clunky, it functions as a place to store small items when you are using the straps in addition to storing away the straps if you want a more streamlined look and only intent to use it as a duffel. A bag I would love to see reviewed is the "Frenchie Co. Speed BackPack", although it looks like they won't be shipping out orders until late summer. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Old video haha but I have so many questions about your month long packing …….what all do you pack ……how often do you do laundry when your gone that long etc etc
Was planning to get the Tortuga Setout, but after this review, I decided to go for the Heimplanet Weekender instead and man, the way the Heimplanet is glued to your back using only the shoulder straps is equally surprising everytime I put the bag on! And that quick pocket on top... it's either for your BIG water bottle or you could probably fit a birthday cake in there without messing it up if your hands are full.
I have the hyper drive usb-c hub for my macbook pro. It's a great option if you don't like the dongle thing. It has a lot of shit in it too. 2 usb 3.1 ports, 2 usb c ports, 1 sd slot, 1 microsd slot, and 1 hdmi port. Been using it for about a year or so and haven't had any problems. Looks sleek too.
Dude you make soooo many points and see myself a lot except for the kids part. The double zipper thing is a dedicaded pocket for the shoulder strats I think.
On the fence with the Boundary Aegis Duffel and the Hexad Access. Hopefully reviews come out soon for the Boundary though. I do like that you can access gear on this one, but the Boundary might fit more of my needs.
Review the Topo Designs Mountain Pack please. Whenever you have the time, I'm sure there are about 50 you have in storage that you still have to review.
Love this review. I was very excited about this bag and bought one myself and had some of the same gripes about it as well. Still a great looking bag which holds a lot but it isn't perfect by any means.
that flap that covers over the zipper where the straps are is more of a rain guard. unless there's waterproof zippers on that end then its not really needed.
Great review, excellent points taken into account. Please do the review for the Carryall version soon!!! There is a single review on youtube and I would really like your comments on that bag. Pretty excited that you will review it. May it be soon.
You should do a video for LARGE / XL tech bags !! For photographers and videographers with tons of tech !! I find that daily carries have tons of tech compartments and pockets, which is great, but very small in size. Travel bags have the size I need but little to no pockets or organization :/ Even something in the middle where we can buy storage accessories to customize it to suit our needs. But I have been searching FOREVER for a bag. I’m currently using the Incase Icon which is great for tech, but I hate that it doesn’t open up all the way so I have to reach into it to grab my tech and it’s just small (only 17L). Great job on the channel bro !! Truly hilarious and insightful !! God bless bro ❤️❤️
Chase Reeves I Carry a 15” MacBook Pro, 12.9” iPad Pro (which I love BTW that you have both of those because you always mention them both and whether the bag will or will not support room for both lol), A notebook .. business papers (you know, for business stuff :), headphones, hard drives, tons of cables, pens, and dongles, 2-3 lenses at any time, a canon sl2, tripod, water bottle, and some random tech (Nintendo 3ds, at least 4 power banks, some emergency hygene stuff (teeth pickers, headache go away-ers, cleaning cloths, flash light, mini led light for video, rode video mic). So as you can tell, I pack for every possible situation !! But it has always served me well !! All of this fits in my Incase Icon bag, but I am looking to add some drone gear (the new mavic air which is tiny) and it def won’t fit in my current bag. So just looking to see if you had any recommendations !! Thanks for the reply bro !!
Hey Chase, big fan of your videos. You're very thorough. However I'm torn between this or the Peter McKinnon Nomatic Camera Bag, which one would you think is the better bag? Cheers!
Seeing you’ve reviewed both the nomatic 40L and this bag which would you prefer for longer trips where you don’t need a lot of work but prioritize travel capacity. Example euro trip or hiking without need for much tech more travel?
This bag sums up all that I need but I do have one question. I have an alienware 15.6 inch laptop and it is pretty thick and I am not sure if it will fit in the laptop sleeve compartment. Please help me get my answer. Amazing review though...loved it!
Just a note for the smaller people interested in this bag. I'm 5'2/5'3. It's going to look enormous when it's on. Also the hip straps don't help as much as they probably should because they sit way too low on my body.
Can this bag be carried on one shoulder? I already have a PRVKE, I want to have something bigger together with my PRVKE for other things while traveling. Also, can this be somehow attached to the handle of a large suitcase?
Love the reviews, best on RUclips. Only suggestions I have is maybe watch the manufacturers video which demos the bag before you review. You would have known zippers at the top you mentioned not being able to close are there to stowe the shoulders straps, and there's also an rfid pocket. Doing so would save your viewers time to research the features you didn't seem so sure about. I think it would be cool too if you talk about what it's like to use the bag without hip straps. I know the bag is big but I'm just one of those guys who hates using hip straps unless hiking. Overall great review just like all your vids. Subscribed.
Word - still don't know where the RFID pocket is :) I guessed right on the zipper to stow away the strap connectors... but I don't believe in the purpose of that for a bag like this, personally. It causes more confusion than it's worth.
Chase Reeves I thought I was really sold on this bag or the nomatic bag because of its ability to do the duffel thing. My logic was that a lot of times when your traveling you take breaks. Wether that be waiting at the gate of your plane, waiting for a shuttle, or waiting for your valet, you would probably take the bag off and set it down. Now when your valet gets there or whatever, you don't need to put the bag on your back again, but just carry it a short distance. That's when the duffel mode comes in handy. Another thing is when your tossing your bag in the overhead/trunk/cargo area/under seat, I think that shoulder straps sometimes can get tangled up or in the way. Now I'm by no means a travel expert, nor have I had a hands on experience with those bags, but I'm taking your word on it that the duffel feature on the hexad and nomatic is not as great as it seems. I'm now leaning more towards the aer travel pack or Tortuga outbreak. I also really like the ynot packable backpack and im gonna get that as well. Im not a fan of those small stringy gym type bags that are packable, so I'm glad you helped me discover an actual backpack. I'll be getting them of course through bagworks.co 🤙
Love this review! Subbed. How's it treating you three years later? I got the Prvke 21L in the summer of 2019, absolutely love it. BUT! I wish I got the 31L instead. I can fit a BMPCC 6K pro and an EOS R, sometimes swap one for a C100. plus 4 lenses, media and batteries, and whatnot. I can fit a lot but the 31L would be much better for me. Looking at this bad to expand my equipment carrying capabilities.
What are your recommendations for traveling with a camera? I often go on overnight trips for photography and need to take a decent amount of camera equipment, as well as a pair of clothes and toiletries etc. I like the look of the prvke, but this also seems like a very good bag. What other bags would you recommend for this type of usage, and which is your favorite?
Hi Mr.Chase i have a question between the access and the carryall 40L , i dont carry the camera things so which one i should buy? Thank you and sorry for my english.
Going to stick with my TB Guide's Edition Synapse 25 or my Tri-Star (both purchased thanks to your reviews), if I need something a bit larger, but I'm always on The Quest and will be here, or on BagWorks, looking for my next bag!
Is the camera cube in the HEXAD the same as the one in the PRVKE? So in theory you could put the cube in the HEXAD to travel then swap it over to the PRVKE 21l for a more daily carry
As always, love your review! Aren't you worried when shoulder straps are attached to a panel which is attached to the main body only by zippers? This drives me nuts, because I always think "this will break down".. maybe I stress too much my bags, but I don't want to loose my things when I ride my bicycle or I run to catch a train
No, not stressing too much - misunderstanding the actual setup here (*if* I’m heading you right). The straps are totally anchored in the bag and secure (as far as I know). The clips they are attached to *can* be zipped away... so, not a weakness in build quality here in my opinion.
Was so close to getting the bag but the fact that it doesn’t have a shoulder strap cross body option is a huge deal breaker for me. Kind of defeats the purpose of a duffel for me
I feel you with the godamn d'ongles for the Macbook pro. I hate that they didn't leave at least 1 regular old type of USB plug. If you forget your d'ongles, you're basically f*cked. As I experienced once on a trip. Ughh godamn apple.
Awesome review Chase! Been keeping an eye on these guys and I’m interested in checking this duffel out. They actually make two sizes of the Carryall bag - the 60L you mention and a “smaller” 40L. It looks like the 40L might have more detracted pockets for tech and quick stash stuff like a boarding pass or passport while keeping a smaller size that this bag. Curious on your thoughts for the Carryall! Cheers man. Say what’s up to Rodney. Haha
Hope he soon makes a review on the Carryall. There aren't but one reviews out there of the carryall version, even though it looks killer. Hope he reviews them, even if it's the 60L even though I care for the 40L.
Was wondering if You will make a review for this one and..BOOM! :)...really sad that the zippers are so small!Got a Timbuk2 Wander Pack (40L) earlier today to check and found the same small zippers #5-6,which is really weird decision to go along with such a rigid external material.
But I THINK they are using them because they’re actually really strong. Like, we’ll never *actually* break them. So, I’m just mourning the fact that the *smartest* manufacturers will make a more sustainable bag and use smaller, stronger zips... but they won’t *feel* as strong to those of us used to bigger zips :( I wonder if those of us asking for bigger zippers are like the “our of touch people” to the future best bag makers... ... this probably sounds weird, but I *learn* so much by using some of these thoughtful bags. Like, the designers sometimes actually know what’s better for me sometimes.
Between this one and the Nomatic Travel Bag which would you prefer?. I want to buy one of them but I don't now which one and I have a lot of doubts about if they are both really waterproof.
Thanks for replying man. Now last question... the through the video this one (the Wandrd one) looks like made with better material than the Nomatic one. Stronger and more durable as well as inside as especially outside. I am right?. Thanks for your time, buddy!! And keep going with the great reviews!!
Is this even possible to be brought on on the plane? Fully packed out must be weighing more than 7kg (which is the maximum weight you can bring as carry on). Does it make sense to check this in? Anyone ever tried to pack these backpacks and still weigh less than 8kgs?
Hey men, cheers from Colombia! I love your videos, they are very useful for me in order to visualize the things I'm gonna invest in. Thanks a lot and peace
Chase! You bloody legend, I was literally on the their website looking at this last night, perfect timing. Looking forward to the Carry All review, I was liking the look of the 40l one?
I'm stalking your tech pouch and I can't seem to find it anywhere! Can you kindly tell a local Hillsboroian what tech pouch that you are using? Is that like an aqua-seal zipper? Best wishes!
Thanks Neighbor! BTW, I've been researching but heavily considering this for 3 weeks in Europe for my wife and I each to carry. Sounds doable, yeah? I am still trying to figure out what to do for our little boy (3.5yrs old), but I'll happily use your affiliate links when we do order. I think I've given you like a million views the last few weeks, so I know the drill ;-)
First off I love your reviews! I do want to ask you since I don't want to end up like you with 10000 of bags :) But on a serious note, I have the Wandrd Prvke 31L which I love and I also bought the Lowepro 450 AW II. Realistically, I have seen myself using the Wandrd Prvke more due to the versatility of the bag of not just being able to carry camera gear. Yes, I could do the same with the Lowepro 450 AW II and configuring the partitions accordingly (although it doesn't seem right, that it's made for that) I am debating on returning the Lowerpro for the Hexad Duffel. If you had to choose between the three (which two would you keep?) I know that each of the bags purpose are different and similar at the same time but I really don't want to end up having one bag sit and collect dust. I travel a lot and I can see carrying the duffel and Prvke as my travelling bags and if I want to carry more, the idea with the Lowepro is that it would fill that space. Now I'm thinking I wonder if I can convert the Hexad as my "everything carry" and treat it like the original intention for the Lowepro. Please help! I appreciate your thoughts!
@@chasereeves yeah my hexad just arrived. Honestly the combo works really well considering I can use the duffel as storage as well (although I have pelican cases for my gear). Main gear sits in my duffel which is left in the hotel room or where ever I'm staying and the prvke carries the bare minimum give or take which is the everyday carry.
ya...the fact they left a compression strap outside a "quick access" compartment really shows they didn't think things through with the design. Nowadays half-baked designed are just not tolerable, with so many good brands available.
Yea, i think there's *totally* a purpose to the decisions they're making on this bag. Everything they do costs money, so it's not just a willy nilly thing. I do feel, tho, that there may be too much going on.. too many intentions. And you kind of feel that in the form of cognitive load while you travel.
Not sure if true. You need them in different situations. I don't like to compress stuff for sake of compressing. Only if necessary like during onboarding.
Oh I feel the kids airplane travel rant to my core! 🤣 “don’t talk to me…u get to just listen to your headphones “ 🤣 💯

I feel you with the godamn d'ongles for the Macbook pro. I hate that they didn't leave at least 1 regular old type of USB plug. If you forget your d'ongles, you're basically f*cked. As I experienced once on a trip. Ughh godamn apple.
OH SHIT these videos are just flying in !!
Chase, are you still planning to review the Wandrd Hexad Carryall Duffel?
Enjoying the reviews so far, keep it up!
Trying to decided between this bag and the nomatic duffel...so torn...any advice?
what's the mini cords bag where you put it away and dont wanna see it. i tried to look at the site but theres no section for the mini misc organizers.
How much did that weigh fully laden?
Also did your friend forget to post a few videos while you were away in Mexico?
what is the small pack used for electronic accessories (dongles, etc.)?
Will you reviewing the other, larger Hexad duffel bag that you got? I'm interested in that one.
Yea coming soon!
what is the allowed weight for carry on?
Great review! This bag looks like too much work!
one question..can a 17inch gaming laptop fit in it??
Great bag review as always.. but, what I would really like to know is - what is that dongle case/bag? It looks perfect for all my dongles :-) . Thanks
I want to know more about the little tech organizer at 24:22 -- is that also YNOT? Link please!
This bag is really near to perfection. Well done. 👌🏻
And nice video! 🤙🏼
can you share the specifics on that packing cube that fits so nice in the Setout?
So, I’m just mourning the fact that the *smartest* manufacturers will make a more sustainable bag and use smaller, stronger zips... but they won’t *feel* as strong to those of us used to bigger zips :(
I wonder if those of us asking for bigger zippers are like the “our of touch people” to the future best bag makers...
... this probably sounds weird, but I *learn* so much by using some of these thoughtful bags. Like, the designers sometimes actually know what’s better for me sometimes.
OH BOY I asked for this bag last week! Nice! And, oh my, did you fry it. Well, that's what I needed, sort of. Thanks man.
Where's that always-need-you-never-wanna-see-you pouch from?
Now you are teasing me with showing the Pakt One. ARGH!!!
Just review it already!!!!
Haha measure of capacity? Lotso!! Solid bag might need to fight the urge to purchase!
Hey man cool review! How does this compare in size to a GoRuck gr2 40 L?
Please please please make the next review on the one pack from the minimalist
12:35 I like the look of that bag, chic and slim for a duffel. What is it called again? Packt 1?
Man, now im addicted to backpacs
Where could I get the dopp kitt and/or tiny tech bag?
Between this one and the Nomatic Travel Bag which would you prefer?.
I want to buy one of them but I don't now which one and I have a lot of doubts about if they are both really waterproof.
They're kinda the same to me. Maybe nomatic has better straps (which matters). Both are actually very water resistant.
Thanks for replying man. Now last question... the through the video this one (the Wandrd one) looks like made with better material than the Nomatic one. Stronger and more durable as well as inside as especially outside. I am right?.
Thanks for your time, buddy!! And keep going with the great reviews!!
Dude!!! Kudos, you sold me on the bag, and you just became my favorite RUclipsr. Hilarious!!! Keep up the great work :)
I bought the bag early this morning.
Please, a short version
Is this even possible to be brought on on the plane? Fully packed out must be weighing more than 7kg (which is the maximum weight you can bring as carry on). Does it make sense to check this in? Anyone ever tried to pack these backpacks and still weigh less than 8kgs?
Hey men, cheers from Colombia! I love your videos, they are very useful for me in order to visualize the things I'm gonna invest in. Thanks a lot and peace
just got the idea to simply take off the handles of the outer zippers of the upper compartment, therefore totally removing the confusion.
Hey chase can you review the pakt ONE thanks for the vids always!
Chase! You bloody legend, I was literally on the their website looking at this last night, perfect timing. Looking forward to the Carry All review, I was liking the look of the 40l one?
Can you review that new Mission Workshop travel bag too? Please?
Please do a review on DC turbine backpack. For me its quite dope and nice.
Think you can get your hands on the new Nomatic Messenger bag and review it?
Tryinnnnnn.
Literally lol'd at that intro line. Paused it at 4 seconds to come write this. Hahahaha
This might be his funniest video ever. *Watched bag video for the Chase comedy*
Thanks!
Give this man his own god damn show!!! hahaah great energy brother...thanks for the review.
I'm stalking your tech pouch and I can't seem to find it anywhere! Can you kindly tell a local Hillsboroian what tech pouch that you are using? Is that like an aqua-seal zipper? Best wishes!
Yea, you can get the wide flat one here! bag.gg/DayFarer
Hard call. I like your hexad + prvke combo tho.
Duuuude...please review the REI Ruckpack 40
THULE SUBTERRA 40L current one bag carry.
where'd you get the tech pouch/rodney pocket? i've been looking for one that's pretty slim.
I think this came from the Dayfarer bag on kickstarter... not sure if they're selling it yet.
Can I take this bag with me as hand luggage?
Big Steve Zahn energy, I’m here now man! Subbed.
Can you us this wandrd hexad access duffel 45L inside the plane and fit top overboard?
Yes
Thanks.
awesome review! time for a new Profile Picture though lol
ya...the fact they left a compression strap outside a "quick access" compartment really shows they didn't think things through with the design.
