I have been playing with James for a little while now, he’s not the first person I’ve taught how to play Tarkov personally, and I'm sure he wont be the last. But, over the years I’ve found ways to give new players starting out have a much easier time getting into this game.. and that's kinda what this video is about. Sharing the knowledge I give to any new person starting Tarkov, but this time around you get to see the results in action through the perspective of James. I want this to be inspiration for those starting out.. that getting your first big win isn't that far away.. you’re capable of it, you just need a push in the right direction.

Note for new players, bring the gear you are comfortable with (some sort of preped kit you can recreate any time), Its less frustrating this way especially while dying with some good loot, upgrade the kit with your experience, you will die anyway so try to do your best and dont attach to in game stuff for the sake of your sanity
Gear comes gear goes, if you can’t replace it then it’s just a free trial.

I agree, just wish there weren’t so many quests that force you to run specific janky kits. Not looking forward to all the shoreline tasks this wipe lol.

Additional Gear Tip: don't be afraid to save the most meta guns for when you have good ammo to run with them! Ammo is the most important part of your kit except maybe heals

Lew, this is my first time watching one of your videos and I just wanna say I truly did enjoy this content. I hardly ever watch an entire RUclips video but this I sat all the way through. I would love for content like this every week, I know editing, making content and being involved in the community can be a lot. Keep going cause you're doing great things here!
New players won't have access to a Gizzly. For early wipe I put a esmarch in the first pocket keyed to 4 press; bandage in the second pocket keyed to 4 release and an A1 in the third pocket keyed to 5. As I level up I can upgrade the esmarch to a calok etc, but keep the same keybinds. I'll put a painkiller in the last pocket (6) once I actually start surviving enough.

Side note: Something that I've heard before, but I've been told that when the Goons are on the map, the other boss that can spawn will be put into like a queue. So meaning after you killed the Goon s, then Reshala (who was actually meant to spawn in that match) will only spawn a bit after the Goons have been killed. Might be a creditable theory seeing your vid now

I wish you guys had done this vid with low level gear. Gear makes a massive difference in this game. When I started play a couple weeks ago I was using starter gear, then at the end of the last wipe we had access to all end game gear basically free and magically I was surviving nearly every raid and getting a couple kills each time. Definitely not what a noob should be expecting fresh wipe

wish i had someone to show me around in game. hate everything after the first 2 weeks in this game because i just die in every raid after early wipe.
aw, mate, I really wish I had a friend like you to teach me the basics and to raid with. I played a bit with an ex sherpa, but he didn't really take the game seriously anymore. He referred me to his friends, but they basically taught me to lay camping a corridor for 20 minutes while the cracked guy in the group went around clearing everything.
I wanted to play a bit to prepare for next wipe, but now that they poisoned Customs I think it'd be quite hard to play the first missions

Ive gone in to like every raid with comtac 4s since flea market unlock. If you know how to make money and loot run, money really isnt an issue. I would suggest learning maps on scavs as well. Scav runs are a lot less stressful and you can get a lot of good gear off of them.

I know this is rather old but I'm confused. Why do you drop bags before a firefight? Is it like a n insurance thing you can go back in raid and grab it. Or to get a movement speed buff so you are a little more free when fighting.
Mainly movement and I guess it can save ur backpack for insurance

The exact same happend to us this wipe, first we cleared The Goons and then reshala spawned in fort whilst we looted and bushed a friends gear hahah. Killed them too tho :>

there's no way reshala spawned in after you killed the goons
Apparently you need another 1000 hours to understand that there is no looting until your environment is safe. I just don't understand why didn't go check the shouts. You heared they were different.
Tarkov is unforgiving and you know it. There were no place for mistakes as you see. The mistake here was unbelief.

The biggest lesson we can all take from this video, especially the final clip is not to be greedy and just head to EP once we find good enough loot.

Man, I love your content and I so wanna play the hell out of this game which I still try but Idky my computer struggles so much like more than it should it seems as I have a 3070 RTX with a Ryzen 5 2600 and Im stuck at like 50-70 fps with “good” settings. If anyone has suggestions on what I could maybe do to fix it I’m open to try cause idk what to do as I’ve been stuck with this

even with all your tips i just get tarkov'd about every game ive gotten into since i started playing the last 3 weeks im getting nades tossed on me 4 minutes after spawning when i havent even moved they need to randomize the spawns or something cuz my spawns have just been hot spots constantly
18.07 I think you did only kill one. I think the guy upstairs died to his scuffed ass nade. It shows on the dogtag the last player to do damage to the PMC as the killer. I'm almost certain. Awesome vid as usual though bro :D

Hi Lew! I have some feedback, if you'd like to hear me out for a second? If not, feel free to scroll away :)
I'd like to preface that, I hope you understand I say the following out of love and hope for you to become even *better*! Learning new things and trying to incorporate stuff into our lives (or playstyles) is a thing that never stops. So I hope you don't take anything I say in a bad way!
So, what issues did I had? I think your communication could use some work! I noticed many times throughout the first half of the video, you like to do things *first*, and only *then* maybe call it out to your teammate! I think this is the wrong approach, especially when it comes to a newcomer to something like Tarkov! Communication is key, and I think you should state your intent before actions. Some of the examples of the video are:
-Killing an enemy and then not calling out you killed him
-Throwing grenades without communicating you're doing said action, or even where you're throwing them
-Pushing areas without announcing yourself
-Shooting objects/lights without announcing you're the one about to shoot
You can hear even in the videos that James, your new friend, was surprised many times, due to not stating intent or communicating, leading to confusion. Thankfully James is actually *very* smart, and quite adept at games, so he always asks if that was you that caused the ruckus.
I think your skills at positioning, map knowledge and shooting is top tier, one of the best in the Tarkov community, but proper communication between yourself and your teammates might be holding you back heavily here!
If you'd like some specific examples and timestamps, feel free to ask, i'll try and find them and clarify on what I mean. I hope you took no offense to this, and great video as always!

@2Lew How is that, for lack of a better phrase, ‘third-person’ footage captured, out of curiosity? Where characters’ whole person is shown from a spectator perspective? I’ve seen it with other creators as well (ex. Rust) and am interested in dabbling in that area myself.
Yeah it's a good format for content but doesn't mean it's useful for newcomers. Of course you'll get more views and people will likely try and learn from you. But the reality for new players is most likely avoiding fights altogether and playing as a rat. You won't be jumping around and running like crazy if you're not used to the Tarkov movement system and the map. You won't be chadding while learning to fight because you'll just lose all your gear in a few matches. Nice fighting, nice skills, nice video. But I'm not buying the shortcut hehe.
i killed all 3 Goons on customs the other day with a UMP with the worst ammo xD, to be fair they kinda rushed me near old gas. just mag dumped each of them. GREAT video love how you are teaching James.
"he has 100 hours in tarkov. A very new player" and you've lost me. In 100 hours in any other game I've played 100 hours means your at least medium skill. No matter how much I like playing this game I simply don't have the time for it
How would you recommend learning the maps? I try to use a map overlay but sometimes even knowing where I have spawned is a struggle and navigating in any direction is a roll of the dice to if it is correct🤣
When Reshala dies, his guards do spred out around dorms, but I've seend them hug the fortress just like here.

You can see just how bad Armor and helmets are in Tarkov, Stacked p[layers with class 5 and they are dead with the armor and helmets taking very little damage. Every kill shot must have been in the eyes
why your game seems so polished and clean, i have a hard time spotting enemies mainly because of the bad quality of the pixels and visibility i think by postfx, can you share your video options?

29:45 That guy missed any tarkov instinct of checking the enviroment when stumbling across dead, unlooted bodies with that kind of gun and was back to pure feral scav when he saw it.
Well or it was because he had the shittiest gun in game.
James casually doesn't give a sh*t about killing the whole lobby but getting scared from a scav horde. Great vid haha :D
4000 hours minus 1500 hours lobby tetris loot gameplay - 500 hours loading screen so more or less a measly 2000 hours of gameplay half of it with scav
Tarkov is really interesting because you can be a top level player in any other game like cod, insurgency, csgo but when you play this it will look like you’ve never played a fps game before lol
18:10 you didn't kill two. The guy on 3rd floor naded himself. The kill is credited to you on his tag because he was bleeding and you were he source of that damage over time.

If you want to teach your buddy to play, first of let them find themself on the map and then find closest extract
