And if you had bumps around your hairline, that's a sign of inflammation -- so the braids were too tight. Did they feel tight? And no, in terms of the hair falling out, when you hair is braided up for a few weeks, the hair will naturally shed (your hair can shed about 100 strands per day on average) so probably what you were experiencing is your normal everyday shedding -- but all coming out at once. In sorry about your experience. It seems like you had an allergic reaction to the extension hair. Synthetic hair at times has chemical in it and many people experience reactions when using the hair. You may have traction alopecia. Typically this type of hair loss will reverse itself if you stop doing the thing that’s causing the hair loss - the braids. So I recommend you give your hair a break from braids - especially if you see your hairline is getting thinner. Your follicle is getting weaker. @@Unknown44355 I am going to make video about protective styles and hair growth. I got you! Its best to keep your hair MOISTURIZED to prevent it from breaking. That's the key! Protective styles are helpful, but they become HARMFUL when done too tight! Thats leads to hair loss. You may also want to consider purchasing my follicle stimulating growth drops to help regrow your hair as well. www.curlhouse.com/shop
Nice video. I'm experiencing this kid is going through at the moment, my hair is naturally straight(Filipino) I kept the cornrows for 10 days, and decided to undo it this afternoon. Hair is falling like there's no tomorrow. Should I worry? I read from the earlier comments that hair sheds off 100 strands, and It makes sense that I get alot of them now since I rocked the hairstyle for about good 2 weeks.
Hi I had single plate braids done with extensions on 6th June,I wanted them for my birthday, I have long natural hairs but I wanted longer I asked to have them more loose not too tight but on the front head I felt was kind of tight and burning and I still feel that part of the scalp burning,I haven't done yet shampoo,as I washed my hairs before to have them done She put coconut oil and in the end some foam to remove hairs falling everywhere and stay firm she put me under that plastic hat (I don't know the name apologies ) that is hot to dry and I felt burning in the same part I feel burning now so I stayed maybe a minute or two and I took it off, then since I still feel uncomfortable and I can feel my head swollen a little bit ,I took them off yesterday so less than 48 hours ,I had never done before ,do you think it was normal or my head is inflamed ?also is very itchy my head and I massaged it so can help the blood circulation.
In sorry about your experience. It seems like you had an allergic reaction to the extension hair. Synthetic hair at times has chemical in it and many people experience reactions when using the hair. If the hair was too tight in general then that too can cause inflammation of the scalp as well. Good thing you removed the hair. How’s your scalp now?
@@KarenofCurlHouse many thanks for your reply it still feel same but I haven't done yet shampoo which I will do today ,because I'm thinking I might had allergic reaction to the foam as she put a lot on my forehead.on the braids
@@angelica9864 Yes. Definitely wash your hair to remove any residual product. The inflammation should subside. Give it a few days and if not you can always apply aloe Vera to the inflamed area. It will certainly help!
@@KarenofCurlHouse many thanks for your response I will definitely follow your advise
Wow you have great ,teeth plus you are right i have seen woman bald from braids .
I was wondering if there is a chance for that hair to grow back with time or are you doomed?
I noticed a small patch of baldness along my hairline from my last set of box braids...and I have been getting box braids for years 😥
You may have traction alopecia. Typically this type of hair loss will reverse itself if you stop doing the thing that’s causing the hair loss - the braids. So I recommend you give your hair a break from braids - especially if you see your hairline is getting thinner. Your follicle is getting weaker. If continue to put tension on your hairline it may lead to permanent hair loss 🙀 and I know you don’t want that.
@@KarenofCurlHouse thank you for your response. I am cancelling my braids appointment tomorrow!
i try to caution black women about the detriments of having your braids tooo tight. It cuts off the circulation to the scalp, and thereby the capillaries that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain for cellular regeneration is cut off. that is why one get the baldness or lack of hair growth at the sight of continuous tightness. Get the beautiful braids, just not to tight. Might have a long term effect also of dementia. Research

Most of theses beautician and hair braider don't care anything about your hair. Its just all about the money. They DON'T CARE!
Some of us do 😜
I know you do Mrs. Karen that's why I follow you.💛
@@blackdiamond4584 yay!! Thanks a bunch!
Waoooo it happen to me. I just got braid for a week. I got itchy but then i saw my scalp on hair line red. Days later i found hair with pop out with some thing white . I thought ut was just hair pop out from the braid but the i looked closely.. its my hair pull out from its place. I spent 50$ for this braid 😭
hahaha! Sorry you wasted your money, I think what you saw was the white bulb on the hair strand which represents the entire strand removed as opposed to hair breakage. But good thing you took them out before it major damage could occur.
@@KarenofCurlHouse does the white bulb mean it’s permanent hair loss?
I watched this and went to take my braids out. And surprise surprise handful of hair came out
Yes. Be mindful that your hair naturally sheds -- so if you've had braids in for a while then you are going to get some shedding, BUT, too much is hair being pulled from the follicle. Hope you caught it early.
