Should I buy coros or garmin??

garmin is better in this category. garmin has true "always on" with its amoled display. with coros, it has standby mode, which changes the screen while you're not looking, or it has gestures mode with standby off, where the display shuts completely off until you twist your wrist. but even when you twist or move your wrist, it often doesn't trigger the display to turn on. garmin watches simply dim the light, but the screen stays the same, and is truly always on. customers should be able to do what they want with their products, not have companies dictate how to conserve battery.

Honestly wish the standby mode dim screen was also available for the Pace 3 and other Coros MiP devices.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! The reason we don't offer this currently is because MiP displays are more efficient when it comes to battery consumption from the watch screen, whereas AMOLED displays consume much more power due to the brighter display. A standby/dimmed version of the screen makes more sense on AMOLED displays, but is usually more difficult to read on MiP displays.

Sure, I get that. What I mean more precisely is the dumbed down version of the watch face that shows up on AMOLED with just the time. I know MiP displays are always ON but it would be great to have that feature at night say during sleep mode only which would be beneficial to avoid that glare if we happen check our phones in the middle of the night. But I do understand your stance. Perhaps there’s a halfway point here somewhere.

@@rohitalexander That's a great idea for sleep mode and definitely something we can consider 👍

@@COROSGlobal No reason not do it.
Could you work on a bluetooth feature on earphones for your next model, so we could receive results, vocally, on differents parameters, without the obligation to turn the wrist and watch closely while running, the results. It would be really more practical. 😊

so, the pace 3 just dims the screen but keeps the same information on the screen? i'd prefer that. i do not like the standby mode on pace pro. i don't like any watch that turns off or switches screens while not looking at it.
