I bought a set/kit with a very similar looking microscope for around $20. Complete with carrying case and several extra lab pieces. It wasn't what I expected for that price. The optics on the scope are much better than what is demonstrated here. I'd say this NatGeo scope was a one off and exchanged for another.
I got a play day expressions microscope and i could see something, but evere time i tried to put something tiny under it all i could see was the same cells as before from the mirror
Well... it says age 6+ on it. It pretty much IS a toy. I bought it for my 5 year old after a year of him carrying around a $10 pocket microscope. It works fine for him, doesn't know any different besides his mucky, scratched pocket one. He's having a blast with it.
I have the scientific one idk of that makes sense. But it's like a real one not one from a kids kit. Not what in was looking for...😭 I don't know how to use it I have watched well over 5 videos and can't find it...
I actually looked into this You see, combining 20x objective and a 20x eyepiece gives you 400x. However, that's not the same 400x you get from a 40x objective and a 10x eyepiece. The objective is like a camera, and the eyepiece only zooms on the already take imagine. So it has 1200x, but a false one.
For 50 you could have got a digital scope with video recording and still have enough for a couple of large pizza....
