I had a 65 mustang in high school in 2012. It had 347 stroker with a T5 5 speed. This brought back memories of me working on mine. I now have a 69. Love the car.
The first 15 seconds of this video remind of when I was growing up in the Sunland area back in the '90s. Totally recognize it. There was a lot less out there then and the end of Big Tujunga Cyn / Oro Vista was a good place to open it up or "test" our vehicles against other ones. As fun as carving corners up Big Tujunga Cyn is, be careful, almost got killed up there in my Comet many years ago, guard rail saved me and my car. It's not always just your car or your self you gotta worry about, it's other drivers to.
Seriously hope this dudes channel blows up big. Deserves it 10 times as much as the top car channels on here the effort put into each vid is very clear. You’ve got a fan in western NC bro!
Ben you are a credit to your generation. Keep up the good work. Built a 66 stang last summer for my wife to rip around in. Fun car brings back the good old days.
you have an awesom channel my man, i´m from Argentina, been a mustang fan my whole life and just bought a 66 manual coupe from the US. i´m here calming my anxiety watching your videos! hahaha, keep up the good work!
Loving the progress on the Mustang. I always say that the best/worst part of loving your ride is that it's never done. Thanks for the update, Ben. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Ben. Love your content + your attitude. I also love that you daily a classic - best way to live (even if you turn up late with black fingers from time to time).
Interesting you mention the valve covers with larger rocker arms. I actually made 4000 dollars off a 69 Camaro SS because the owner said it had a knock in the motor when it warmed up. Took it home sure enough someone swapped the valve covers to 3 7/8" and the rocker arms when the engine was at operating temperature would tap on the valve covers. 40$ trip to O Reilly's fixed it and I sold it soon after.
Great to see you dialing that ‘Stang in. I recently added the Quick steering package to my ‘66 mustang. Something I’ve wanted to do since forever. It adds the final touches to that Shelbyized front end. Good luck David
I put a Stage II OpenTracker front suspension on my '65 last summer... You are correct, what a difference! Arning Drop is MUST. Got lots more to do to her...hopefully this year ;-) Looking forward to watching you project. CHEERS!
7" wide you can get some good rubber; may have to go to 16-17" wheels and drop the sidewall. It'll still look "Period" correct for most eyes and not look goofy. I did an old A-body Mopar and used a set of '16" Lincoln LSC "Turbine" wheels with good Yokohamas and utilized the 12" front rotors (with pin-style calipers) from the last of the B-body A-38 cop car. Common sense goes a long way, looks like you're doing it right!
Really dig the patina on the car. I have a '66 Mustang in Nightmist Blue which is a very similar as yours. It spends most of it's life in the garage, but I hope to change that soon. Keep up these videos coming!
The spring coming off and making the throttle stuck happened to my grandpa as well and my grandmother started yelling him to stop driving that fast because there were kids in the car 😂
Get a brass combination valve from a mid 70s Granada/ Maverick ahead of the prop valve. It works!! It not only limits rear pressure it delays the application as Ford intended. Probably won't need the adjustable valve.
I really enjoy your videos young man. Thinking about that spring can be pretty scary. It happens sometimes. Glad all ended well. Keep up the great content!
Can’t wait to see more of the car. Just got my 65 back from swapping out the c4 to a top loader and it’s about a thousand times more fun. Now we just need some nicer weather up here in the pnw.
(edit) It's looking great buddy. I like the overall exterior appearance of it (kinda rough and ready and built to drive and have fun with). I don't know what your long range plan is, but I hope you don't paint it and make it "too pretty". I'm all for upgrading the safety equipment - that's smart and practical. Your car has a very cool character to it as is. Great video - thanks.
The Shelby drop works for Falcons too.I haven't checked to see if it was done on mine yet.Tires make a huge difference in the handling. When I had my '66 the only tires available were bias ply,and they weren't very good.
man i love your vids, we are about the same age and it's nice to know i'm not the only young person willing to get their hands dirty and build an old school car the way they want to. Funny you mentioned the MT valve covers as i also just bought a pair for my vettes 350 lol
Idk if u want to do it but if ur gutsy and not scared to custom fabricate. U can make or drill and tap ur master cylinder lid/cover and add a air nozzle to pressurize the system way better to take air out of a brake system idk why brake manufacturers dont think about that and make them
Great video Ben, I've made a bunch of upgrades to my mustang since we last talked. I'm super excited about Shelbyfest, it's coming up May 1st in Jefferson city Missouri. Should be the coolest thing ever. Catch you later. P.S. say hi to your dad for me.
I got a 65 mustang and also did a front brake disc conversion. I couldn't get the air out of the brake system. So I got a phoenix reverse brake bleeder from amazon.. it does work. Check them out. Good luck.
gosh vic, you really have a way of showing up where i least exspect it ! XD hmm.. maybe i should get an old muscle car myself, got a buddy who wants to sell me a foxbody stang ;) .. JK got a house and a kid on the way, so im locked down to mopeds 4 life XD tak for sidst, godt at se dit build :P
Tbh I don't think the width of the tyres is so much the issue, it's probably more the tyre type. Those Firestones you have are extremely cool, but they're an old school tread, and you also have a huge amount of sidewall which will flex when you go round corners. I've found that by going up to a 16x7 inch wheel, your choice of 205/55R16 tyres is vast, you can even get Michelin Pilot Sports in that size, and those will transform any car you put them on. Also has the benefit of being able to take bigger brakes, should those ever be needed.
👍 Nice. What size tires? Is there a upper plate under the shock tower to hold the weight of the coil over?? Which rear end? I do old Fairlanes, Falcons, and Mustangs. 😎😁
Cool car, we enjoy your videos! My first car was a 65 Coupe but with a 6 cylinder, 3 speed and a lot of rust since I lived in Minnesota! How much did you pay for the car originally? It seems to have a really good engine so good find!
People hook it up for you because you're a good guy your parents did a good job raising you
Cheers to that comment he's a good lad for sure
Totally agree
I had a 65 mustang in high school in 2012. It had 347 stroker with a T5 5 speed. This brought back memories of me working on mine. I now have a 69. Love the car.
I'm just stoked to see there's a younger generation still into old school stuff.
This young man is living the life. How cool is that.

My first car at sixteen was a 66 Mustang GT 289 K-code coupe. Fast & fun. Wish I still had it.
THE MACHINE LOOKS GREAT AS IS.THE COLOUR ,THE STANCE,EVERYTHING.
Cool upgrades. Good having friends like Dennis 👊
Thanks! Yes it is🏁
0:22 I checked my phone lol
I like seeing kids get down with the old rides.
Ive never seen that pushrod tool. Thanks for showing me that!!
Seriously hope this dudes channel blows up big. Deserves it 10 times as much as the top car channels on here the effort put into each vid is very clear. You’ve got a fan in western NC bro!

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to document and share your '67 Mustang experience.
Car looks and sound good,,I 've got 65 teal green 302 /5.o 50 oz stuff..and same disc..Have fun..
That's awesome this was a project both you and your father got to work on. You are really talented!
New cars had 2 throttle springs.
Race cars usually have a strap over your foot so if the throttle sticks you can pull the pedal back.
you have an awesom channel my man, i´m from Argentina, been a mustang fan my whole life and just bought a 66 manual coupe from the US. i´m here calming my anxiety watching your videos! hahaha, keep up the good work!
Nothing more badass than a green 65/8 mustang! Good job
I love those skinny tires, this car needs nothing
Loving the progress on the Mustang. I always say that the best/worst part of loving your ride is that it's never done. Thanks for the update, Ben. Keep up the great work.
The pony car it's meant to be. Great work on the springs and your new wide ovals. Car still looks awesome. That 289 will go.
little 289 giving me gosebumps :)
cool Ride dude ! I also have a 65 Mustang Coupe 289. Its my first V8 and boyyy i love it. Keep up the good work, nice channel !
I am 12 years old and have a 66 mustang coupe with the 289 and l love it. Can’t wait till I can drive it. Love your channel keep up the good work.
Fix stuff in this order:
brakes
Steering
Suspension
Driveline
Engine and transmission
Cosmetics last.
Make it safe 1st. Congrats. I envy you.
I’ve also had that problem with the gaspedal getting stuck to the floor on my 67 mustang
Your spring or your throttle wire getting stuck check all your linkages might be to tight or to loose and hanging up just an idea
I really like your car but what I like even more is to see young guys like yourself and your friends having interest in American muscle/pony cars.
Great video, because of you I got the Alden American coilovers for my 1966 fastback, can’t wait to take it to some canyons!
oh yeah! Updates! let’s go!
Thanks Ben. Love your content + your attitude.

I’m jealous! That’s what my car needs
It's good to see that you back! I freaking love the mustang.
I put a Stage II OpenTracker front suspension on my '65 last summer...
You are correct, what a difference! Arning Drop is MUST.
Got lots more to do to her...hopefully this year ;-)
Looking forward to watching you project. CHEERS!
Holman Moody invented the A arm drop and used it on the earliest Falcons that they raced.
People call it Shelby but he didn't invent it
Its been awhile but well worth it Ben. Great re-cap of whats been happening, really enjoyed it !
What a great kid - his folks must be proud :@)
Thanks for the two spring tip, I need to jump on that!
Nice seeing you back man!
Still waiting on my lens😂
Four Speed Films man them camera companies need to know the famous RUclipsr they’re dealing with!
😂😂

Good to see the Mustang back!
Also! That proportioning valve gave me issues on my 67 Camaro but when it did work
It helped with keeping the rear from locking up

Probably won't need the adjustable valve.
I've done several with Granada front discs.

Hell yeah
i want to get one of these and a c3 vette to restomod one day would be some fun projects. and they dont seem to be too expensive after looking online

Finally found time to watch, awesome per usual!
Also did a willwood conversion on my ‘66 mustang, sexy look!
The Shelby drop works for Falcons too.I haven't checked to see if it was done on mine yet.Tires make a huge difference in the handling. When I had my '66 the only tires available were bias ply,and they weren't very good.
Yes it does. Kinda funny how the falcon and mustang are basically the same car. Cool stuff man
@@FourSpeedFilms To save money the Mustang was built using the Falcon platform.2005 was the first Mustang that wasn't based on any other car.
Lmao Viktor was hitting his head on the headliner 😂😂😂
Ben you continue to amaze me older ak
Finally. Hope to see more stories soon. Good job
Good video, and good basic changes to the car to make it better (without throwing hordes of money at it). Hot rodding at it best for sure!
Really dig your car. I've always loved the old notchback Mustangs and the stance on yours is perfect. 👍
Wheels + tires + stance = 😍👌
Don't change it!
Love it! Finally another video😍 intresting updates 😀
Cool build so far.
Need more videos like this! This was badass
Love your content, only RUclipsd that puts out good content with old mustangs
Your a good dude bro, love the content and glad to see your following in the steps of some great men before you
Your videos motivated me to get a classic mustang. Great work son!
That's real cool. Continued success partner!!
Great video...enjoyed all the details. Helpful.
Great video Ben
Nice update! Really like your car!!!!
man i love your vids, we are about the same age and it's nice to know i'm not the only young person willing to get their hands dirty and build an old school car the way they want to. Funny you mentioned the MT valve covers as i also just bought a pair for my vettes 350 lol
Even sweeter now!
Awesome progress on the mustang, I'm looking at reinforcing the shock towers on my 67 Mercury Cougar.
Big blocks came with reinforcement and more welding.
The best thing to do is solid weld all the panels
I love the old school m/t valve covers! Nice update video! Can't wait to see what 2020 brings
starlight bowl in burbank! 8:08
Love the Mustang!!
Man that first 5 seconds sounds so AWESOME!! Now on to the rest of the video. HaHa
Ryan.
Nice work, just a little at a time.

It’s getting there 👍👍👍
Great video
The Mustang is looking great. What size tires are you running? Wheel and tire combo looks perfect.
Great car, great video....
Dennis is a awesome guy, worked on that 22 race truck in the background and his pro 2
Wow, great video quality and editing! I’m here because Liv Scaffidi sent me. Subscribed!
I got a 65 mustang and also did a front brake disc conversion. I couldn't get the air out of the brake system. So I got a phoenix reverse brake bleeder from amazon.. it does work. Check them out. Good luck.
Love your vids Ben. Keep up the amazing work!
Love your car..........love your channel. Keep up the good work :)
Cool car! What leaf springs you got in the back ? The rake is matching the front drop pretty well.. curious to know your rear set up. Thx
About godamn time ! 😅😅😅

I need to fix my alternator on my 69 mustang. That’s rad you hung with greaser thoughts garage.

Good stuff bro
Are the Shifter T-shirts ever gonna be back in stock?!

solid video my dude! 👊👊
I wish I had the knowledge you did, there's so many things I want to do to my 67 Fastback but I'm afraid of fucking it up
same shock design as my old snowmobile!
👍 Nice.
What size tires?
Is there a upper plate under the shock tower to hold the weight of the coil over??
Which rear end?
I do old Fairlanes, Falcons, and Mustangs. 😎😁
Yes NOW I see the upper support on the coil over. 👍👍
Lmaooo car wanted to kill us!! Imma drop that video next week !!
Haha! Let’s film soon once I get my old lens back. I’ll hit you up when I have it
