- 2024 Porsche Cayenne review by The Straight Pipes. The Porsche Cayenne is putting down 348 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque from a Turbo 3L V6. At $136,950 CAD, would you take it over the BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7?

Get this Porsche instead of a Cayenne:
ruclips.net/video/2w6R4hJ7-mQ/видео.html
I appreciate a base model review honestly. all of the RUclips car reviewers always get the highest trim of each model which is understandable but you never get a feel of if you actually need all the upgrades or not
Call me crazy but as much as I love Porsche and as much as we all know this car saved them in the past, I think this time around for the price, there are way better alternatives out there. I sat in a few of them last week and I was a bit disappointed :/ Great review Boys! Love from Montreal.
Andres I love that you are so into cars as well as tech. What are those options you saw?
FYI I currently drive a GLE53...
I also looked at the Cayenne years ago and was disappointed. It might be the only Porsche that doesn't feel special
Im mexican & on my RUclips channel i do food reviews
So you think there are way better alternatives yet you were disappointed by the alternatives🤔?
BMW X5 refresh (2024 and on-) is nearly perfect. Has as much tech as Tesla. More power and much better value than Porsche too. My hybrid is 483 bhp, 516 lb ft. Absolute monster.
@@flitcroftLA just took a look, did they recently drop prices? I m shocked at the base price
72k starting price for a 483HP model is very good price nowadays.
The GLE53 used to have a 68k base price. It is now like 86k. An 18,000 increase. Safe to say I m not getting the new model. The GLE63S used to cost that much in 2021 lol
I might need to go check this out. Audi is also too expensive. I already checked them out
I'm with Uri, smaller rims look fine and are almost always more practical. Plus sometimes a car will have 21" rims with 9" brakes which also looks ridiculous.
My Jeep 😂
Small wheels on big brakes >
But these are not smaller rims… just higher profile tires. Wheel sizes are ridiculous these days. I have 21s on my SQ5 and then OEM 13s for my 1980 Fiat.
@@constructionbootgazeryep, we can thank government safety regulations for the gradual increase over time. More security features that are required means larger size vehicles, which means larger wheels to equal proportion. I miss the days of super thin A pillar civics and such, I'll take my chances in a wreck hahaha
@@priqq1still plenty of used shit boxes out there if you picture yourself in a pile of twisted metal on the side of the road in the near future!
I love watching Yuri’s reactions when Jacob is driving insane 🤣
In Yuri's defense Jacob was demonstrating that oversteer is an option without the nannies. Definitely could be scary if you aren't expecting it.
@@cbotten106 oh absolutely, I don’t disagree with that at all
me tooo 😂😂😂
ALMOST had a Doug DeMuro Challenger Hellcat moment 😅 2:03
Never
We have the 2019 Cayenne, and I was so tempted to upgrade when this was first released. The front looks really nice, and that uniform dash looks so clean.
But the rear looks odd with light colours if you dont pay for the body kit (with a painted bumper), the interior is noticibly more plasticky, the passenger screen is useless, and the car is quite a bit more expensive than 4 years ago. A comparable build to my car now costs over 16k more.
That being said, the current X5, GLE, and Q7/8 arent that great, so maybe this Cayenne will still sell well.
if you think that is expensive let me tell you that you can almost get a turbo in USA for the price of the base cayenne in Europe
Yeah we get screwed here, in particularly Ireland where we have an additional tax that no other EU country has
For that price you could get a low mileage 2021 Cayenne S that is near fully loaded. That's what I would buy. The changes are so minor, and I would take the V6TT over the new V8.
V6 over v8👀
@@s2000killa1 For the weight savings over marginal performance gains.
Porsche and Audi follow the same patterns on their SUV's, don't screw too much with the looks and design but make simple but big impact updates on the interior and powertrain. Porsche and Audi SUV's are the best looking on the road.
I got a new x5 50e maxed out with extended 10 year maint/warranty and still spent less. The infotainment is good once you use it for a while. I was not a fan at first but most of the complaints are non-issues. Just set the climate to auto (like most people should) and your main gripes are fixed.
Can you guys a buy a really big jet ski trailer and then add as many jet skis as the car will tow, like the box test in the trunk, this should give the viewers an easy to use visual representation of the jet ski towing capacity, great vid by the way
@TheStraightPipes did you try the extended Porsche Carplay features?
For those too young to remember: the logo aesthetic they're using is from a now-defunct toy Empire, led by a Giraffe. Named Geoffrey.
Apparently Giraffes make poor business decisions.
I don't wanna grow up...
why did they change the thumbnail logo?
Great car, but everything is so frkg expensive now (348hp, $90k base
Would you prefer macan gts over 2024 cayenne base model?
Depends on your spacial needs. Macan GTS is the best daily driver ever if it's big enough for your needs.
(As with all porsche's, you gotta spec them right)
Love the passenger display
Porsche is always beyond ahead.
I always wish somebody would try to put baby seats in the rear and check if there is a need to slide front seats forward.
8:11 yeah it needs to "tow" the kids from school to soccer practice on the back seat 😂
Love the whistlin diesel reference lol
Is this the same engine/transmission combo from Audi S5/SQ5?
The engines and platform are all shared across the group. The tuning is different which can makes some difference. But its the power and the transmission that makes the biggest difference.
Imagine being Porsche and just literally never messing up. Everything you make is just the best. Gotta be a lot of pressure.
Except being able to build and delivers car.
These thumbnails are always great lmaoo
Might be the only crossover I like.
I’d take the current generation Macan over this looks wise.. & if the goal is to get a larger SUV, definitely grabbing a previous generation Range Rover, Merc, BMW or Jaguar over this. Still a nice car though.
Which model you will buy between Macan S and Cayenne S e hybrid coupe?
Damn. Porsche knows how to incorporate screens so they don’t look like tacked on iPads
ah yes, a 4/5 door coupé. my favorite kind of coupé.
Can yall review a Audi q5 sport back or a sq5
Review the Q7 / SQ7 already, gesh
I like the small wheels with the FAT tires
9:56 min - Yuri 😁👍🏾
My dream suv. I’m going to be so sad once they do the split headlight design 🤢
Ohh c'mon I love the split tailgate design. The old Toyota Land Cruiser had that tailgate.
I don't like SUVs, but this new Cayenne, in the Coupé style, and this spec, it is such a beautiful thing, I have a girl-friend that dreams with Cayennes, maybe she wasn't that crazy after all 🌚💙
Think I’m going to go with a 2022 gts
Thoughts on the PDK in a Macan vs Tiptronic in the Cayenne, do you feel a difference in shifting, ride etc?
IMO, I can tell the difference and PDK is a good reason to get the Macan S instead. Drive them both and form your own opinion.
Big difference. This is done for towing in the Cayenne
Nice video, really like this car
please do a audi q7 review!!
Good review but you left out the Porsche feature that lets you park in the middle of two parking spaces.
Seems like more of a BMW feature
I pre-ordered this car, but cancelled my order after I realized I was buying a slow Porsche, which completely defeats the purpose of driving a porsche. Got a 911 instead like a real man.
$15k above 2024 AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ (429 hp)
I don't see the point of passenger displays except in a small, simple speedo/tach in a ferrari or lambo. Passengers can easily reach the central screen to control the car functions and will always use their phone for entertainment. The screens will undoubtedly look outdated in 2 years and you're sacrificing space for dashboard architecture. Plus it's adding complexity and cost. I hate the superscreen/hyperscreen in the new MB and would never order a car with one.
we want the 2024 Cayeene S ! v8
The front is eerily similar to an Urus
Review a Model S/X Plaid please!
This or a 2024 X5 xDrive40i? Price isn’t a problem..
I’m surprised the sound of this one. The GLC300 you just tested sounds better to me in the cabin and I am almost always underwhelmed by inline 4s
This isn’t fake pumped in audio
@@TheStraightPipes in the end, how much does that matter if it’s faked or enhanced pumped sound?
Same engine/trans in the Audi S4/S5
Jacob, aka Damper Dan.
does it have multi interior ambient lights??
Nice colour
Sounds odd to say but like everything else these days seems *WAAAAAY* overbuilt or "too busy." Not really a fan of Tesla anymore after ruining the amazing Model S and X with the Model 3 and Model Y and now Cybertruck but they do get a *HUGE* shout out for keeping the cabin "clean." As the prices of Teslas continue to fall I'd love to know who is even buying these machines these days. The vehicle at least "looks"(appears to be) very safety conscience...the only reason to buy a car actually so that's a huge plus.
Jakub on your E55 did you trust the odometer reading on your ex Japanese car? Did the seller provide credible documentation?
There are several for sale here in Vancouver all with very low km. Of course it would be awfully easy to do odometer fraud on something imported from Japan. How would you know?
I trust it. I used a reputable importer
Anyone else tryna figure out how Yuris wireless overalls work?
2:12 - poo definitely came out of Yuri here.
Jacob ... What watch you wearing, it's beautiful!
Omega Speedmaster
I couldn't help but notice the sun roof that doesn't actually open. Fail.

Should’ve picked up my Cayenne last Saturday but told on the last minute that they couldn’t release it due to Porsche holding it back for a software update 😡 anyone had the same problem.
I have a bigger problem, I cannot afford one! 😂 Stop whining about your first world problem!
@@bettysmith4527 Absolutely right 😂 it was delayed a week but got £1000 back so all happy now 👍
At this price audi q8 is the best car specially in terms or looks
Can’t wait to get one used at half off original MSRP in a year 😂
As much as i like that thought, ain’t no dealer sell this for half off in a year. Car market is broken no more steal deals to have.
Um yea man, Porsches do not depreciate like that. It's a Porsche.
Won't happen. These hold their value much better than that.
Just order a GTS :)
This or an X5 M60i. Easy choice
don't like all digital approach. I want my analog!
The Porsches SUVs coupés are the only SUVs coupés I don't mind being coupés
Why are you blurring the map?
Don’t wanna show where drake’s house is
But how often does it break lol
i hate to say it but lowkey overpriced for what you get. Especially cause most of these are daily driver mom cars especially in this trim.
jacob confuses oversteer with rear end kick out. cute but it's getting old.
I really don't understand the SUV coopay. The Cayenne and the Q5 are tolerable, but the BMW and the Mercedes SUV coopays are absolutely hideous.
I though they got ride of the v6?
No that's the Volkswagen Atlas that got rid of the V6 (which was actually the VR6)
Oh my gawd, how much is that thing 😮
81K starting in the USA!
I rather safe some money and take old one in the used market!
Base one is OK for me, but not the coupe I want all the Utility.
All those screens in the new one - for idiots!
Needing 3 different apps just to use my car is painful. Stop with this nonsense.
True. Just put cel mirror and send it. Its stupid.
so no kid barf grannie plastic furniture covers.. So if you buy one and 2 macans they give you a lotto chance at the 911
Audi RSQ8 is the best sounding super suv.
Urus better tho
@@TheStraightPipes thank you for your great work. Keep em coming.
Conti does not have tiers for this car.. 😢
Yes they have the SportContact 5
Major PRICE UPGRADE from the evil owners at VW Group.
Ill take a levante over this
Hmm, I can't see the "replies" to the " comments" 🤔
Tux mat doesn’t have Touareg but has cayenne. Weird.
Because Tuxmatt has only been around since 2019. Not that long ago unfortunately. And it's been around two years after the Touareg got killed off back in like 2017
@@jonlosito2004 Touareg only doesn’t exist in North America. Asia & Europe still gets it. You completely missed the point anyways. They have mats for the 16 cayenne but not the 16 Touareg. Which is basically the same car.
Uri you look SO HOT with your hair cut/facial hair PLEASE keep it like this all the time !!!❤🔥
Finally a legit review of the base Cayenne. I was so annoyed at Red line guy where he was complaining about getting a base cayenne the whole freaking video. Straight pipes, you guys are professionals for sure.
Ugh…that guy was whining like driving’s a Base is a crime.
No V8, why bother?
@@michael2275for me, more range on a single tank for road trips
@@xaviert7839ikr? Base cayenne is great as well, my friend bought 2021 model with air suspension, nothing wrong with the acceleration or the handling
@@jackz4149 Was driving a base 2023, most boring car ever. Perfect car for a soccer mom.
I was literally specing this exact car yesterday. Ya'll crushed it as always!
Sat in one yesterday and was kinda disappointed by the excessive use of plastic in the interior. The steering column leevers, seat adjustment controls, air vents, buttons etc. wouldn't like to see that at this price point tbh even if it is high quality made. However I very much enjoyed the seating position of the Macan, felt like a sports car
I agree. I test drove the 2024 and while it was “nice” everywhere, it didn’t scream $100k car. Also I was bothered that the arm rest didn’t extend far enough forward for me to use it while holding the wheel with my right arm (I am 5’ 8” so this is probably not as big of an issue for taller folks)
@@flat6gts yeah I noticed the new Range Rover felt more premium in comparison switching back to back
This interior feels like a Kia when compared to the new Range Rover
@@Equity_Group 😂😅 hard take... however yeah the SV blew me away. Bentayga on a Budget for sure, nice S63 M engine now
As far as SUV "coupes" go, this one looks pretty good.
Call me nuts but I think the coupe version works better on the Cayenne than the regular boxy version.
S Utility V. And defeat the purpose?
Suvs are so stupid in 95% of cases, just buy a wagon Jesus...
Most enthusiasts have said the interior has felt cheaper compared to prior models. I.e worse quality leather, door trim stuff, etc. Thoughts?
Ours had solid options and felt great
@TheStraightPipes that's good to know. I personally have a 2020, but am curious about the new tech. Glad that things are still tip top shape
Too much Audi, not enough Porsche. This screenfest needs to stop!
Finally the car I was waiting for to be reviewed by the one and onlys. Been waiting for you guys for a couple month guys. Good job.
Our pleasure!
What I don’t understand is why they don’t give Cayenne the 2.9L EA839 just like Macan. I thought VW was going to move to 2.9L V6 completely when I saw the Macan S using the 2.9L.
Did Porsche give up on exterior design? Looks pretty meh ... :(
Only interested in V8. Yuri F'd up big
the previous gen cayenne had a special interior. when you sat in them, it wasn't like anything else out there and yet so luxurious and beautiful. now they just put 2 tablets in there and decided, yup that should work.
There are different seats available as options and the passenger screen is optional. There is no luxury sports SUV that is better when you keep in mind that Porsches are designed to be timeless unlike others that go for the wow factor.
They ruined the brand with that interior. It's so garbage and cheap.
Finally they made a porsche with crap tablet interior
I'm continually impressed by the quality of your videos))))))))
I purchased a 2019 Cayenne S with cash right before the COVID lockdown. I have been working at home since, and drove the car about 15,000 km in 5 years. Took the car to the dealer, wondered how much I could get for the trade-in, and it is valued around 50K. If losing 80K in value in 5 years is okay, you should go and buy a new Cayenne. The best is to wait 2-3 years, buy a used one in good condition as mine
I just did EXACTLY that. Lost value through depreciation is a bummer
It looks like Yuri doesn’t like when Jakub pushes like that 2:11 in a few vids I’ve seen genuine concern on his face when they overstep traction and have to force correct
Porsche engineering ❤.. very reliable compare to other German luxury brands
