Lie is a masterpiece. I love Jimin's lower voice, haunting instrumentals and beautiful lyrics. To this day, it's my favorite Jimin's solo song.

LIE is a masterpiece. Iconic performance, haunting, the angst.... Lie was written by Jimin about his past self. He blamed himself for his shortcomings & felt he wasn’t good enough. He was deep in the lies from his past, blaming himself regardless of the truth. He pondered on his flaws & mistakes even if others didn’t.
Jimin’s solos are unique & memorable. Lie is a masterpiece. Classical musicians reacting to this song don’t expect an orchestra and Spanish-guitar in the opening. When he sings ‘caught in a lie’ , the impact from minor to major cord creates anxiety and is almost a ‘lie in itself’. Jimin’s performances are always captivating. This is one of my favorite Jimin songs. The performance to this was captivating and expressed his anguish.

What a beautiful song!
There is no way to listen and not be moved. It's a deep feeling of love for all fans and armys. It hurts my heart to know that everything they have done to date has only been talking about overcoming, joy and love in their songs. And today they are being prepared by taking up arms, to learn to defend their country, for a supposed war. This is very sad. They have already overcome many challenges in life, to overcome borders and take their music to the world. I hope that this is another challenge for all of them, to return stronger and continue doing what they love, which is singing and dancing to bring joy to the world with the charisma and potential that each one has. May they return safe and sound and much more strengthened and inspired, to provide us with beautiful moments together.
God bless them. Getting rid of all visible and invisible evils. May they be firm and strong. Taking care of their health and spirit. You described the members perfectly. They are such decent and humble guys. I agree with you about how the guys getting back together and spending time with each other are more important than releasing music right away. They need time to readjust when they return to civilian life such as spending time with their family. I can only imagine how much their families are going to want to spend time with them when they return. I don't want them rushing the process as their mental health is more important than trying to appease us. If you think about it, the guys have spoiled us all these years with so much content and music turnaround. No artist/group pumps out as much music as these guys have. It's been non-stop. Artists generally release music every couple of years or longer. These guys have given us so much, so we need to be patient and understanding and not expect them to be releasing music in 2025.
That’s so true. I 💯 agree with that. I’d be happy with a weverse live when they get back. They all deserve a break and extra happy time. It’s hard when they’re separate also because they always feel something is missing. I mean imagine all those years together through the good and bad times. I can’t imagine where my emotions would be.

There is no one in this world like BTS, I am so proud of them and I hope they are proud of themselves for all they have achieved and accomplished. They give you a sense of hope and courage. I have been crying ever since 12/11/2023 up to this day. I'm crying happy and sad tears. Waiting for their safe return.

It was so painfull when I heard Bang PDnim saying that he didn't want Jimin in BTS but the other members insisted to keep him with them. Jimin is such a great guy, hard working, sensitive and beautiful soul. We will always support him and we will wait for all of them to come back 💜
He didn't say that, he said he was skeptical to have Jimin join the team because he barely had any training compared to other members. 6 months of training while the others were trained for 1-2 years. He thought he wouldn't fit in because he didn't have the training the others did. But Jimin made it without any training, official vocal lessons with his sheer talent and hardwork, and the support of his members. And Bang pd admits that BTS wouldn't be BTS and would be disastrous without Jimin.
@@stargazing2628 It was RM -- not Bang PD -- who said losing Jimin would have been disastrous. That failure of PD to say what it meant to have Jimin is what makes his words seem lacking.
@@stargazing2628Bang PD has been against Jimin from the start and even Jimin called him out on it as part of the people who opposed him from joining the group. The lack of support from BH/Hybe towards Jimin is glaringly obvious compared to what the other members received.

He didn't even expand on what he DID say, and that was that Jimin was charming, talented but seemed incomplete and that he didn't want him to join. What you have written is your interpretation or wish that this is what he meant.
I knew better but I had to watch your reaction to Closer Than This. Here I am bawling again missing our sweet Jimin. I’ve said for years I could never have a bias because it would be like choosing one of children, grandchildren and or great grandchildren as a favorite. I’m sad that they’re all away from us but proud that they’re serving their country as all other males have to. They haven’t been gone long and I finally realized that I miss tender hearted Jimin the most. Don’t get me wrong lol, he can be a stinker but no one tugs at my heart and makes me smile more than Jimin. And this too shall pass… so they say. It’s Christmas Eve here in the US so I’m caught up in it all I guess. Long story sorry.

The solos from the Wings albums are actual very personal to the members, but they also can fit into the BU. Personally, I think that they took the songs and then adjusted the narrative of the BU to fit the songs better. To me, the "lie" that Jimin is trapped in is the image that ARMY has of him compared to how he sees himself. By trying to live up to ARMY's image of him, he's trapped and very unhappy. The lyrics don't really have much to do with the BU. That's the case for all of the BU songs. The BU story is told through the images of videos, not the lyrics of the songs. The songs are more closely related to Demien, I think, but still more about the members and their lives than anything else.

I also like how they pair in there English and Korean. I mean it’s so well done. I know that’s nothing but it amazes me. Music business is really hard I think. And I think it’s triple hard for bts because they are so big. I notice lots of these K-pop entertainers don’t say they’re going g to ever get married which makes me wonder about the sacrifices they actually make. The strength of Jimin to go to all the single shows and supports them all. So strong. If Jimin has really lost his self , which I don’t believe , could be why army is so important. Army and bts are one is some sense.so imagine all the world loves each other this much.

What I love in BTS is that their music is both fictional and real at the same time. It's like they are basing their music out of fictions, characters, stories, books, etc. But what's happening in the fictional storyline is also happening to them.

13:04 Actually, the FACE album doesn't have a resulotion, basically it's just another loop like Lie, it has no particular beginning nor end. So it's just never ending suffering and struggle, although the album is very dark, it has a very light message.
Which is "hope".
If you remember, he has tattoos all over his body which is a poem written in german. And the overall message of that poem is that the speaker is aware that it's useless to break free from the never ending circles/cycles but he intends on trying.
He has been caught/trapped in a lie, a persona that is not who he is and it was hell for him to have to pretend to be a person he wasn’t. Face is his journey to his freedom and SMF pt 2 is “resolution”. In one of his recent interviews he says that his personality has changed, he also for the first time in a decade has started to open up more about himself and shook all of us when he went live in his home, which he has never done. Jimin is extremely private and has done everything in his power to separate BTS Jimin from Park Jimin but he’s finding a way to show more of his true self. That happened because he is no longer in a loop or trapped in the lie. When he comes home I hope he continues on his journey of living freely as his true self. Granted he is still an artist and everyone has a work persona but his persona was draining him and he has earned the right to live authentically now.

I’m in a similar mindset as you for the reunion in 2025. As much as I want to see them in concert, I really hope they take time to enjoy being out of the military (particularly the last members who come out last in June 2025) and spend time with family as well. I hope they will work on new music before going on a tour because the way the conversation feels about reuniting in 2025 is them going on tour almost immediately and I hope they will just take some time to reconnect, work/release new music and then tour. Plus, I need all the time I can get to save money!!!

throughout the song it uses minor key except for a sudden change in chorus part, its a major key exactly at 'caught in a lie' in musically, major is associated with happiness and joy which completely the opposite of the song's whole vibe (many thoughts at first listening why would he put major key there?!) but thats the point, its used to emphasize that the happiness itself is a LIE, the major key is a LIE.
i mean, since the day i found this out it never escapes my mind, it lives completely rent-free there, jimin is art itself creating masterpieces constantly.

I’ve been to 100’s of concerts but NEVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED SUCH POSITIVITY FROM THOSE IN ATTENDANCE❣️ Other ARMY’S were friendly and even hand out homemade souvenirs to one another with love for the boys in their hearts and a huge warm smile on their faces❣️ I CRIED THE MINUTE I ENTERED THE BUILDING BECAUSE OF IT AND I SANG LOUDLY THROUGH TEARS❣️I’ve NEVER had a reaction this visceral to a group that even sing in a different language❣️ I saw them in LA to a sold out crowd of 50,000 ARMY’S❣️ a month later, I saw them in Vegas and my reaction was even bigger and better because I knew what they stood for❣️ I will pay whatever I have to to see them in 2025❣️ I’m already saving up for it….

A lot of the symbolism in these songs also has to do with the Bangtan Universe a continuous story that runs through a lot of the music videos and some of the story also found in the notes that were included in the albums and there was also a webtoon called "Save Me" There are layers to BTS songs. The meaning of the song and what they referenced for the album theme for example Demian, Map of the Soul etc. but there is also another fictional story that is running in the background...in that story Jimin is put in a hospital after witnessing a crime as a child at the Arboretum (what the sign 2.1 km was pointing to). So there is another layer of meaning built into this and the other wings MVs as well as some other MVs.

btw, that excerpt Namjoon says in the beginning is a quote from "Demian" by Hermann Hesse! that book was a huge inspiration for and influence on the Wings album, and if you read it after consuming all the Wings media (the short films, MVs, and such) you can definitely see it
