Great explaining about internet. I like the stripe
Thank you so much for this information. I am so computer illiterate and the way you explained this was so easy to understand.
You're very welcome!
Thank you Becky for the information on IoT. I’m like you, being a nerd and understood what you were talking about.
Thanks for the tech lesson! I have a hard time understanding some of those terms! You did a great job teaching!!
Take The stripe for The sashing!
Happy News Year! Edda
Becky, we have had Spectrum for a long time (used to be Charter) and we haven't used their modem or router for years. I don't have IoT products though. We dumped the cable TV and only use their internet service
By the way: No confusion on Tech talk, but it is nice to hear someone explaining things on this. I like your visual pages.
Cool, thanks!
Thank you, I learned so much from you so thank you so much.
Thank you for the tec talk. This is exactly the problem I am having when we got spectrum 5 months ago. I don't have any wifi capable sewing machines, but I couldn't hook up our wifi printer, which was frustrating because I use it to print patterns.
Im retired from network contract. Great explanation and understood your tech talk. Thanks! Looking forward to getting my table topper book and cd. I like the x and o on the stripped.
Becky, you are the best instructor whether it is tech, sewing or embroidery. I understood all of the tech talk you did on the channel. It is great to know that you are someone who we can turn to when we need just a little insight into our wireless "Toys".
Thank you so much for explaining the Internet thing. Makes total sense. I always wondered what the difference was between the two internet options.
Becky your WW results are super! I am also on the program but slid backwards over holidays. Getting my head back in the game! Thanks for all the IoT advice. ❤️
loved all the "techie" stuff
Proud of you for starting WW. you can do it.
On the stripes!
Thank you for the Tech lesson, always learn something new from your channel. Awesome job!!
I bought the book from Allbrands. can't wait. Thank you Becky
This video was so timely. I'm getting ready to move and will probably be using Spectrum. Now I won't think it is me doing something wrong if my devices don't work. When you call some companies they have a way of making you feel like you are the dumbest person on earth. Thanks so much for your videos. I have learned so much from them. I am in my 70's and you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Thanks so much for your explanation about the router. I wondered why my Internet provider has two different networks. Also, I wonder if that is why my friend, who has a different provider changed her connection and she can no longer connect her printer. I'll send her this video to her. Dona
Thank you for sharing the tech talk. I understood everything. Didn’t know about which devices go with the 2.4 and 5 ghz. I can now go to all my advices and make sure they are connected to the right signals. Awesome!
I LOVE Grunge Fabric!
Thanks for the Tech Talk Becky. I have Spectrum internet and mine gives me a choice between 2G and 5G but I never knew which to connect to or why so I appreciate your explanation. I always learn something new when I watch your videos.
Glad it's all working out for you. If you ever get a new router from them, you'll probably have the same issue. Their older ones allowed the user to choose. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tech talk. These are things I need to know about. I usually rely on hubby or son to “hook me up”. I love learning from you! I’ve been a WW member for many years off and on. I lost 75 pounds but wound up gaining 50 back. I’m loving the new Personal Points program. I’ve been having great success. I had a total knee replacement on Dec 8th so I put tracking food aside while I recover. I’m up 4 pounds from where I left off, so I’m pretty pleased. Pain meds make me have zero appetite, so that has helped, I suppose. I think I will be released from the doc at the end of January and will be able to drive again. As my appetite returns I will definitely be getting back on my WW plan. Good luck to you and Keith! Our health is worth more than money can buy. Blessings for y’all in 2022!
absolutely loved all the "techie" stuff . thank you for sharing this information. I, thankfully do not have spectrum. I love our provider, Comcast/Infinity - which has never given us issues! However, hearing this information to problem solve issues, was extremely helpful - for learning purposes. keeps my brain alive!!
Thank you Becky for the explanation of I O T. I talked today with my IP before watching your video and asked what is 2.4 ghz. They couldn't or wouldn't say. I know my router is a dual band. So now I understand. My wireless printer wouldn't print a PDF file from my phone, tablet or laptop, so after some frustration I unplugged it, waited a bit and plugged it back in.....wa la...it worked. My power had been turned off while the power company had replaced a fuse in the transformer a few days ago. The things I learn from you! So glad you are a nerd! A funny one too!
Thank you- I’m in a techie family but now I understand why some devices need to be on 2.4 rather than 5… this was just right! 😃 the table toppers sound like a lot of fun, I’ll look into it!
Lol! I’m new to the channel & I loved it! Everything from the tech talk to WW! Looking forward to future videos 😁
I like the stripe fabric for the x/o’s. Thank you so much for explaining the modem and router. I had no idea about what network to pick for what.
Hi Becky, as always enjoyed seeing and hearing what's new. Love your tech talk. I'm having computer issues myself. Boy could I use your knowledge. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow for AllBrands.
I received my book but am still sew happy to hear Kimberbell will reprint the book! Awesome!
I THANK YOU FOR THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAYS AND THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS OF EACH OF THOSE DAYS!
I AM GLAD TO SEE YOU DOING YOUR VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEOS AGAIN, I AM LEARNING ALOT ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS!
I JUST WANT YOU TO KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK THAT YOU DO!
Oooooo. I’ll take the $75 gift card if she doesn’t respond. Lol. Thx for your fun videos.
Hi Becky! First off, "Thank You" for your service 🇺🇲! Also, thank you for all the great information & how you explain it with pictures is so wonderful!!! Love, Love your channel!!!💝💝💝🙆♀️ Lots of snow here in Wisconsin!🐄☃️❄
Good for you
I need to do something myself
Let's do it together!!
My husband asked me a question just as you said why you cancelled your trip so I didn't hear why until I watched it again. I don't blame you traveling by airplane is such a pain now anyway. Stay safe.
Becky I got a pedal exerciser for under my sewing table. Pedal while embroidering. Also where a fit bit to keep track of steps.
Great! Yes, my watch tracks my steps. Love it!
Like your nerd talk. I worked with pc’s & banking software. Now I’m retired & work with my own little network. I didn’t realize how many IOT’s I had. Loved your explanation of this. Thanks!
The band width explanation makes good sense to me, wide is slower, like someone with a wider waist, the narrow is faster, like someone with a smaller waist, totally makes sense to me!!!!
Haha! I've seen some wide waists making some quick time. 😀
Felt the good old days when you first started your channel, giving us your personal insight into tech, how to navigate though it, and what your working on. So enjoyed this video.
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Love Grunge fabric!
We have Spectrum and my tech son set up the router he told me to get at Costco. Thanks for the clear information on band widths and routers. I now know about IoT. Next time he is over for dinner I can talk to him about it.
I love Corey Yoder’s fabrics, too!
Becky Thank you so much for the tech talk. You explained it Perfectly. I have Spectrum and didn't realize about the IOT I have the scan and cut and The Babylock Solaris I haven't tried to connect yet
I need to be on your program for weight loss myself. Good luck
Thank you for all you do.
Let's do WW together!!
Welcome to WW 👍. I love the app. And you just eat normally. What I learned most is portion control. If you track the plan works. I’m like you. 25 lbs 15 Togo 👍
We are lucky, my BFF works for Spectrum so we have no issues when dealing w/them. I just name drop and get the best service. I was told to just "look for the box with Spectrum on it" when shopping for a router & modem. LOL...can't get any easier!
OMG - Thank you for the info for connecting our devices. Didn’t know about Spectrum but do not have it. Put the X’s and O’s on the stripe! Thanks for the info. Appreciate all your info
I studied Computing Science at university and wish we had lecturers like you - you explained all the tech stuff beautifully. Think you made the right decision about Vegas.. this virus isn't going away... in England the military has been called in to help as the health service can't cope...
So I’m not sure if different parts of the country do it differently. But I can pick either 2.4. or 5 GHz whichever I want to to connect any of my devices. The TV doesn’t automatically get the 5, it gets the one I tell it to, my sewing machine doesn’t automatically get to 24, it gets the one I tell it to. And I have spectrum also. But my router is three years old. But I had a tech tell me to pick the 2.4 for cell phones or laptops and anything that moves with you and you can pick the five for anything else in the house that is stationary and does not move. Which is my sewing machine. And my things work just fine with either one but he said the 2.4 signal goes further than the 5.0 the 5.0 does not go through the walls as well. Whether this is correct or not I’ve just always done it the way he told me and it’s worked for me.
Thanks for this post. I too have Spectrum. Most of my devices had connected with no problem but some did not. I was lazy and instead of researching why i just connected with a cable. But I had recently tried to connect something that was very specific it would only work with 2.4 and therefore I never got it to work. Strangely enough i also have Spectrum at another house we own and the same device connected and works fine there. Regardless I will now research a new dual band router. Spectrum does charge a monthly fee for their router so this will force me to finally send it back and save that monthly charge. Thanks again😊
So sorry you aren’t coming to Sew Yeah I was really looking forward to meeting you however I completely agree you have done the right thing. When things are safer you can come here. So glad you chose WW it’s the greatest way to loose and keep it off. 20 years ago I lost weight and gave kept off with the program. Good luck to you and Keith
Debbie, you are right, some of the testing is just not consistent. And Covid is truly out there, many of family members, some grandkids too--it's crazy. We have been vaccinated and had the boosters as well, but not sure that is good enough. One of my sons works for FDA and forecasts where the covid is going to be the worst based on data he collects, etc, and it is surprising and not in a good way. So son tells me we just cant be too careful. You are doin good and interesting projects.
Loved the tech talk. I knew that routers had 2 bandwidths but never knew why. Loved fhe explanation of IOT. Thank you!
On the white.
Becky, thank you so much for the tech info. Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to spending another year learning from you ❤️
Well that was interesting. I had not heard of IOT's. We don't use a lot of those IOT's but good to know. Also good to know about spectrum.
Ohhhh Becky you made me miss my tech days. I’ve been praying about coming out retirement for a few years. Thanks for the nudge.
Becky you are so right with spectrum. I have spectrum only bc they are the sole provider. We have had them in our home with One problem after another. Grrrrr.
Tech info was so helpful thanks for the 'tech lesson'. The future videos will be so interesting and fun - thanks again for sharing your time and talents.
Beatiful fabrics! Kinda understood the tech talk. I'll keep it in mind, try to remember if it comes up.
Thanks for the tech lesson and for helping get Kimberbell to reprint the book. Awesome!
We had this problem, Spectrum turned the 5G off because the 5G is so bad and unreliable where we live.
I'm so proud of you for being safe!
I like the plain white background for the x and o’s.
If you are in Portland, or area, montaville sewing have both books and cd for the table topper.
I like the white better contrast
Good to see a Quilt chat again. Congrats on the weight loss. Keep up the good work. You can do it. Glad you are staying safe at home and not going to Vegas yet. There will be time in the future to re-schedule.
I like the solid white with the pink. I love your explanation about the Spectrum problem... I amazed I completely understood it. ☺ I wish you and Keith lots of luck with WW!!
Hi Becky, thanks so much for the “high tech” guidance which is very helpful!
Thank you for the “tech info”. Helps me to stay in the loop. Also, you gave me the push to get back to WW for the hundredth time. I had been contemplating this for a couple of days and this did it for me. Thank you,
I was wondering if I'd have that affect on anyone. Yay! Let's do it together! I'm loving this personal points plan. Plenty to eat and never hungry so far. The key is meal prep. We're going through so many eggs (0 pts) that I'll need to get some chickens!!😀
@@PowerToolsWithThread Congrats on joining Weight Watchers. I'm a long time WW lifer (made lifetime in 1996, though I've been up and down a few times since then lol). It is by far the BEST program I've ever found, since you can eat normal food and make room for treats now and again. Watch the 0 point foods - they do add calories :-)
@@pbrenneraz You are so right about WW! Keith and I are enjoying the journey so far, but it's only been one week. The new Personal Points plan is working out so well for us. He's surprised when he can have a bowl of pinto beans (no pork) and shredded chicken breast which is so filling and it's zero points! Yesterday I made ginormous 2 egg omelets that were stuffed with grilled veggies and sliced seasoned chicken - again, 0 points. This is a phenomenal program! My loss this week is steady so far at about .3 lbs per day. KT hasn't gotten on the scale yet and is waiting for Monday but I can already see his progress. I'd forgotten about Lifetime and can't remember if I joined into that or not way back when. No matter. Do they even offer that anymore?
@@PowerToolsWithThread Yes Lifetime is still a thing :-) If you reach your goal and stay there for 6 weeks, you transition to Lifetime and get a special member number. After that meetings are free as long as you're within 2 pounds of your goal weight :-) Congrats on the fabulous losses so far, and keep up all the good work !
You showed me how much I've forgotten about modems & routers since I retired
Wow!
LOVE you you tube info, would have loved to win love kimberbell
False negatives test results can happen 1 in a few test results are falsely so Test PCR test 48 hours that helps
Thank you for doing all the heavy lifting. This was amazing info for us
Wow, great video. This was a great explanation of this technology. Great job, Becky!!!!
I like the stripe.
I think the other floral bundle you got is Love Notes by Vanessa Gertsen.
I need to get ready and started with the January quilt along block.. I’ve had my book for over a year no excuses. Thank you for doing this🥰
Thank you for all the computer knowledge. I'm not very computer literate just enough to be dangerous. Well I followed along and understood what you were saying so if I run into that difficulty I will know how to handle it.
i am on a keto/low carb diet. lost 44 lbs this year. good luck with your loss. let us know how it goes
Glad to hear that the book s ring reprinted, I cold not find the book any where.
Solid white!
We have Northland Cable or Vyve and they put both on your router so that you can choose. Perfect!
I'd use the stripe
Vegas is so overrated lol but smart thinking to stay safe. can't wait to watch how you do this one, my Q is cutting the applique pieces I have a cricut and need to cut 1/8 bigger .
Love the new WW programme, so easy to follow and you get to eat more than enough
I'd put the X's and O's on the stripe! My opinion!
I like the stripe
I agree if you, if we can not drive we are not going anywhere.
Married to a computer tech, so actually understood the “tech” talk. Looking forward to watching the videos and doing the February cutie table topper. Really enjoyed making the January table topper and making all the hat pins. WW’s works - good luck!
Oh, by the way, I need to loose 25lbs too - However...... how can anyone possibly start a diet so soon after Christmas when they received all this yummy dark chocolates (See's Candy Makers) plus other good dark chocolates (I am picky about my chocolates)?? I have to eat those before I can think about going on a diet of sorts. I do exercise to help while I am stuffing myself with those.
That makes PERFECT sense to me!
Hey Becky, I'm so happy you nerded out today!!! I'm a tech nerd too!! I have a BBA in MIS and enjoyed this video, you did a fabulous job explaining the bandwidth, etc. I can't wait until tomorrow to see the live video with All Brands. Thanks for the interesting and great videos.
Use both, white and stripes!! No Limits
Thank you for sharing your computer knowledge. It makes me question my modem. We have AT&T with a modem only no router. I have a SnC but I have worked with the WIFi on it. What can I do if my SnC doesn’t show the IOT 2.4? Love you and your shows!
You have the same problem as Donna. You'll need to get another router that allows you to see both bands so your SNC can find it.
I cut the snowmen out on my scan n cut. Ready to make table top.
Nerd talk, I actually understood 😄
I am a PTWT groupie! Thank you, Becky.
Thank you so much for sharing the tech info. That stuff can always be so confusing. But you made it very understandable.
I joined weight watchers to. I haven’t been tracking like I should but I need to get serious with it.
We can do it together!
My grandson is now in the Air Force. How nice.
Marci Gras, OMG did not know that started this early.
Just love watching you and listening about all your projects, I did order the Kimberley table topper book just waiting on its arrival and hope to catch up to you quickly.
newer thermostats also belong to the IoT
