Sir can u clear one thing to me that how will I come to know whether I have to add or subtract the equations after multiplication
The elimination method is where you actually eliminate one of the variables by adding the two equations. In this way, you eliminate one variable so you can solve for the other variable.
I think ,
if the terms(here,4y) are like(same sign) we should substract so that they will get eliminated and if it is unlike we should add them so they will get eliminated

Wo aise Jaan sakte h ki 2 se hee kyu karna kyuki usme dekhna hoga konsi equation aasani se equal ho sakti h doosri equation ke saath aur kis number se multiply kare taaki dono equation ka ek ek number equal ho jaaye, simple .
Yes and if u want to substitute also in 2 equation like... ex equation is 2x -2y=2 (×=2)
2(2)- 2y=2
4- 2y=2
2y=2-4
2y=2
Y = 2/2=1
