i'm a huge madz fan but in fairness it UST Singers, they're good in their own right as well. kudos to UST Singers thanks for sharing! Bravoooooooooo!!!!
I watched their school concert (Medicine Auditorium) way back in 1994 or 1995 when they return to UST and this song registered in my mind since then. Whenever I hear this song, I remember how Marcia Lopez beatifully sang this song. The best version ever.
I would say that this is UST Singers at their absolute peak. Their apex and zenith. They had natural singers in all voice categories singing in their prime. This batch won Grand Slam at The 49th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, winning First Prize across the board (Youth Choirs Category, Folklore Category, W.S. Gwynn Williams Jury Prize, Chamber Choirs Category, and Choir of the World). Suffice it to say, UST Singers Batch 1995 was the absolute best choir in the entire planet during that year. The height that today's batch of UST Singers must strive to scrape. Why not? If they made it past the tough auditions, they have it in them. :-) Sometimes, you just have to be reminded of who you are to be that again.
@DAX031280 Yes, Marcia's the soloist. :) I believe that the UST Singers and the Madz are both great in their own right. Although, I am a Thomasian and an alumna of the UST Action Singers, it would be better not to compare the two anymore. After all, Pinoy lahat 'yan. :)
I had the pleasure of meeting this extremely talented choir in 1995 and used to listen to their CD all the time. Wish I still had it. Thank God for RUclips! Brings back wonderful memories, and they were all very nice. Hope you're all doing well!
This is from the Golden Age of the UST Singers -- when they were considered the absolute best university choir in Asia Pacific, if not the entire Asian continent.

Still remember hearing this live. Marcia really sings this well. And she does a good version of movie in my mind with armida. Miss those two soloists.
Im a big fan of the Philippine Madrigals yet this song is so great that it can even exceed madz performance.... Kudos... I love both of this group
