Yamada refers to herself in the third person because in Japanese it's something little children do. It shows that Yamada has very caring and doting parents so much so she acts like a little kid when around her parents. Also the anime cut the scene where Yamada is checking out the bathwater Ichikawa had just used. She's down bad just as much as him.
0:50 the reason she stepped back was because she was again afraid that she got too close to him. The same happened when he found the keychain in the last episode, she was about to hug him but then she pushed herself back. Remember in ep 9 what she asked him why he did avoid her? "Is it because I'm too close?" We learned in this episode that she didn't buy his lie "I had stuff to do" so she thought, after finding out that he broke his arm for her and then made him search for the keychain in the snow, that he'd start to avoid her again if she came too close. It's probably also the reason why she hesitated to sit next to him right away.
i never remember the chuby chaser guy name, but i like that even being a fetichist horny guy, he comes up being really supportive and diferent from Adachis flavour of creepy
damn was waiting for ur reaction these days and it was worth it so much ! When yamada said that to ichikawa about saying her name i was screaming like a little girl lmao ,shes truly the "danger in my heart" XD
Red-bean rice is for any celebration milestones in life. It's for baby's first steps; it's for when your entry into a competition wins a prize; it's for graduation; or just having any kind of breakthrough. So since the onset of puberty is a milestone and red-bean rice is for celebrations of milestones, it seems a natural fit to the Japanese mind. I doubt any Japanese viewers would have made the connection to the red of the beans and what happens in that particular milestone.
One thing I like about this show is how it's pretty much just Ichikawa's perspective. We don't get to see what Yamada is thinking, only what Ichikawa guesses Yamada is thinking based on what he is observing. So the only way we see Yamada being insecure or struggling with something is if she opens up to Ichikawa or lets something slip unintentionally.
Lol the reason Yamada was pacing around Ichikawa at the table after she changed outfits was that she was waiting for him to comment on it. Feel bad for her but that's asking a lot out of him haha. One thing I love this ep is how Ichikawa gets to see how her mom is at home. I remember on their first date, he comments her on how her hair was - that her mom did for her - and says that her mom seemed kinda strict and Yamada tells him that she's totally different at home.
17:12 its not about that... it's about the coming of age ceremonies they have when they become adults (i think), which used to be at 20, but they do it at 18 as of a couple years ago i think.
13:39 I really appreciate how much Ichikawa's been kind of adopted by Yamada's friend group. Even though Chii's denser than a black hole and has no idea as to WHY Ichikawa and her best friend are getting closer, she's just transitioned seamlessly into treating Ichikawa like a friend. Very cute. 16:08 Yep, nailed it. He still can't fathom a world where someone of her caliber, beauty, charm, etc. dates trash like him. In his eyes, it was a damn miracle that made her friends with him in the first place. To ask for ANOTHER miracle would be the height of hubris. Yet, on the other hand, he knows that by the simple nature of the two sexes such mixed-sex friendships are on a bit of a time limit. 16:14 Yeah. But, ask any guy and they'll agree that they identify with Ichikawa's fear of hope and inability to catch signs, even if he takes it to ridiculous extremes. 16:52 THE TIPPY-TAPS
The music used in Yamada dad's appearance is Attack on Titan reference, I guess. Publishers are different, Dangers in My Heard from Akita and AOT from Kodansha. So it is not that obvious.
I love to watch you because you understand the stories better than me sometimes so I get new information about the show that I didn't even think about and it is funny to see you cry even though I sometimes feel like crying when you do
I wonder how they're gonna do his voice, if the VA will do their "normal" voice or something. Also I wonder if Yamada dad is just gonna be like a giant Ichikawa xD. edit: ooh that'd be cool if that was his voice.
Havent read the manga or anything but her saying ichi is more like her dad, foreshadowing ichi will have a growth spurt and will be tall asf too someday? That will be lit
So much happened but they are getting alot closer emotionally and physically. Yuki Yamada is around 6'8" , about a foot taller than Anna - she gets her looks from her mother Sanae and height from her father as you see in this episode.
And a thing a lot of people forget is that her mom is already quite tall for a Japanese woman anyway, so it adds up haha. Ichiwaka is short, but not THAT short at all.
@@MrXaniss Sanae is maybe 5"2 as she comes up to Anna's eyes in the hallway scene. Anna is 5"7ish. In Japan, the average height for men is around 5 feet 7 inches (170 cm) and for women it's around 5 feet 2 inches (158 cm).
lol might be upsetting that he finds plausible explanations for any sign she gives, but from the perspective of having no experience of these things, where all of these situations are completely new, going forward with a girl that is not in that place would mean the end of everything, he would be really a freaking creep, specially in japan where creeps are something very scary. He wants to be certain, but such certain signs do not come easy of course, so he needs to wait, so this becomes a matter of patience, kindness, and hope. I hope we see more of her perspective though, so far all these animes are mostly from the perspective of the guy. So I understand Ichikawa completely. The ways though when he tries to hide his umh thing when stuff happen, like going down to the floor and stuff, cracks me up lol.
He also has to consider whether Yamada is confident enough about her own feelings to reciprocate his feelings when he does eventually confess, as opposed to a tsundere who'll get super embarrassed and/or aggressive when their feelings are brought to light He has to be sure that A) his feelings are genuine, B) that her feelings are genuine and C) that both of them are mentally prepared to take things further
You're such a cozy crybaby, Takemitchi could only wish LOL. Last episode after getting back the dog she is about to kiss him but she knows he has to be open about it first so basically both of them are holding back the only difference is she knows he likes her. And the friends line with his heart actually says a lot, ha has been alone almost two years he doesn't know how friendships with girls work, he isn't dense he is just lost
03:04 the animators forgot that this type of appeal is completely unnecessary for this anime... It dont need this to be a masterpiece... Even otaku ecchi fans found this excess of eroticism out of context.... All another scenes is ok😏😏
What do you mean? This show always showed what MC is focusing on. Manga and side chapters have lot of moments like this. They even cut out a part where Yamada having a moment in the bath right after her mom came home. season one had moments like this, and there will be more later down the line. And this is the first time Im seeing someone complain and call it excess.
@@abin93 yes my friend.. I know this, I read the manga several times in english, spanish and my language portuguese... What I trying to say is THAT CLOSE was unnecessary and just made the scene look weird. I like ecchi scenes too but specifically that way in that scene dont look good.

That was a bit too much for me too tbh. I get what they're trying to do, to show the perspective of a teenaged boy, but I don't think they needed to show us specifically what he happened to notice.
Ichikawa is established as smart. Often smart kids find the most creative, round-about ways of sabotaging and undermining their self confidence.
This is exactly what my doctor said when I was trying to get help for my ADHD.
