Amazed this naughty comment got past Standards and Practices: at 18:30. Brett: "Quick is not necessarily terrific, my mother told me." Richard: "So did my ex-wife." Chelsea, to Richard: (astonished) "I don't BELIEVE you." Neither do I! LOL.
She also appeared in a first-season episode of Love, American Style ("Love and the Militant") with fellow Laugh-In alumnus Stu Gilliam, who was also a guest panelist on MG (1973).
That was the whole point. And that was the problem with later iterations of the game. They turned it from innuendo into blatantly sexual, and totally missed the point.
People say a lot of stuff about her, but I believe she genuinely cared about the contestants. Whenever she was picked for the super match she always seemed genuinely upset if she didnt match with them, like in this episode.
I don't understand either. I love Brett SO much and seeing these nasty comments hurts. Brett cared about the contestants and truly wanted the contestants to win. When both matched Brett hugged the contestant and when Brett hugs you... YOU were HUGGED.
I don't understand either. When a pretty young woman panelist cackles and asks silly questions and makes a spectacle of herself, no one cares (neither do I, really). When a man hogs the limelight and is loud and somewhat obnoxious, people chalk it up to him being a comedian or a performer. But when Brett does it, a good chunk of the comments here attack her. Personally, she was my favorite panelist (CNR a close second) when I watched the show as a kid (summers and school holidays), and I still like watching her now. She clearly has a big heart and loves to have fun and doesn't mind at all when the other panelists roast her!
The irony is that Brett Somers was one of the biggest reasons that people watched Match Game. She was the one everybody loved to hate, and she cultivated that persona. It was like J.R. Ewing on "Dallas".
I'm from the end of the baby boom/beginning of the gen x generation, and I think Gene was what my parents would have called "fresh" too. I call it "a creep" though.
ROFL! Another fine episode! :0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! :0) Camera in shot! ;0) pregie! Shoe laces.. Love the acting, voices and silliness! ;0) camera in shot.. ;0) We all know he flies, and Clark does? You’re blank! Would make a great coffee table with legs.. ;0)
Too many possibilities: First three I thought of were Hacksaw, Chain Saw and Jigsaw! Then the contestant said Seesaw and Brett wrote Buzzsaw! Clearly they did not want to give away any money that round!

My heart. 🥺🥺❤️❤️ The way Charles comforts Brett before Head-to-Head. They are SO cute. 🥺🥺❤️❤️
Chelsea Brown was on _Laugh-In_. They used a lot of people from that cast. Jo Anne Worley and Richard Dawson were on it as well.
She also appeared in a first-season episode of Love, American Style ("Love and the Militant") with fellow Laugh-In alumnus Stu Gilliam, who was also a guest panelist on MG (1973).
RIP Orson Bean
episode of two and a half men
Charles must had been in between getting his hair worked on! It looks like it’s about to slide off his head! LOL!
In these shows did he wear a hair piece?
@@mj6962 Yes, or so he claims throughout the early years.
I've seen it look worse.
Ok.....Jim Lance....wearing a burgundy jacket, pink shirt and red pants.....that's quite a color combination.
And the scorpion belt buckle…
I think the contestant on the left looks a little like Florence Henderson
Ya know the way this show and Star Track were able to beat the censors at the time was GOAT.
I thought of socks too.
Brett really seemed to care about doing well for the contestant in the Super Match rounds and I love that about her.
That wasn't fair when Joanne asked if she could write two words. Of course the contestant is going to say "eat spinach" after that.
Thank GOD Orson shaved off that beard!
The sexual innuendo just GALLOPS in this game! I LOVE IT!!!
"We all know he flies." (!)

Cathy was all over Gene’s bursitis when she was jumping 😂😂
Love the way Cathy celebrates
I love her energy and I love her choice of celebrities for the super match!
Brett to the buzzer: "Why are you so hateful?"
RIP Chelsea Brown 1942-2017
I used to watch Laugh-In, but I really don't remember her. Of course, that was about 50 years ago...
@gypsijewel The Death Rate is holding steady at 100%
@Christopher Bingham Actually Orson just died a couple of weeks ago from a tragic car accident.
Chelsea was beautiful
Mary looks like John Denver in drag.
A Guy Penrod Belt Buckle!
the women talk & the men snore
bob howard Or fart ... whichever, take your pick.
All these hate comments about Brett .wth?

I like Brett

I would have said Hack Saw too.
Gene normally welcomes the “new kid on the block” with a kiss, but one can only speculate why he abandoned this custom for Chelsea Brown.
That kissing startet later. He only kissed Joyce Bulifant on episode 181 for coming back.
Wigs, two. Bottom row, top row. 5-22-2022

My mother couldn't stand Gene. Don't asked me why I like him. She called him ” fresh”. You see what era my mom was from. That greatest generation.
I'm from the end of the baby boom/beginning of the gen x generation, and I think Gene was what my parents would have called "fresh" too. I call it "a creep" though.
Rayburn was a dirty old man.
My mom disliked the show. She said it promoted conformity.
I hate the face mashups.
5,900.00 THEN WOULD BE 34,400.00 TODAY

Really interesting the way contestants make fools of themselves.
They do??? I have never noticed
Them?!? How about the celebrities ?!? Namely Brett ....... 🤢🤮
Panelists:
1. Orson Bean
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Chelsea Brown
5. Richard Dawson
6. Jo Anne Worley
Was there any man she did not "love so much" ? .... Brett Somers was so annoying as panelist . . .
Popeye made her sell her as s
what the hell is a "buzz saw"
An electric table saw.
This was a hard one.
