Interesting trivia! Thank you for uploading a well-made video.👍😊 I don't think that the citizens of a unified Germany want the Prussian or any other former German royal house to reign ( *let alone rule!* ) again. The citizens of Austria and Russia as well as other countries with a defunct monarchy probably share similar sentiments. (The Romanov family has at least 3 contenders) Also, how far back could it devolve? Would Vlad Țepeș' descendants rule all or part of Romania? (btw: King Charles iii is one of his descendants ... Haha!) How about the descendants of the kings of Bohemia? Poland? Hungary? Scotland? High Kings of Ireland? What about France's Bourbons and Bonapartes? With the discovery of DNA the possibilities are endless! ....Just joking! 😁 Obviously the members (and descendants) of those royal houses would love to get their hands on the properties and jewels that the families once owned. (Italy has already won a lawsuit filed by the former royals to get the Italian crown jewels for the family. Decision: Royal jewels belong to the state)
@@crusader2112 That's not what the Italian court decided. I have a feeling that returning any property to royals would lead to more demands and lawsuits
@@here_we_go_again2571 I guess I side with the former royals, because I wouldn’t mind seeing a Monarchist restoration in Europe. P.S. I’m an American by the way and I don’t see a monarchy coming to America.
3:20 The Federal Constitutional Court shouldn't waste its time on internal family matters. For the public, it doesn't matter, who is claimant to a non-existing throne.
If you decide to make another video about this, remember to cover our royal pretender: D. Duarte of Bragança. You talked about his daughter's wedding quite recently.
The only pretenders here was the German guy at the beginning, both leka and Charles von Habsburg have relinquished their claim to a throne. A pretender is someone still holding on to a claim to the throne
Omg I hate that so much. Катерина is Katharina and not Catherine. I once met a Russian intern who introduced herself as Catherine. What? BTW I am Russian. So please stop doing that.
Some the remaining monarchies are not kingdoms though. Liechtenstein + Monaco are principalities, while Luxembourg is a grand duchy
Principalities and grandduchies have always existed there used to be way more of them in the past. It’s not anything new
@@Recartloaded IK
Kingdoms still exist
@@Recartloaded no duh
They were still considered kingdoms

Super film
I wish the UK had followed the example of some of these other European countries.
Are you British???
Yeah, because a British republic would be ever so interesting. Lol
@@wfcoaker1398 it wouldn’t even be called the UK or Britain because that means the Union would dissolve and it would just be England and Scotland,
@@RecartloadedNot even Scotland.
Long live the House of Hohenzollern!
I love the German royal families and I want to love to meet them all in Germany 🇩🇪 one day in my lifetime ❤😊
A great and interesting video. Keep up the great work. Peace ✌🏻
P.S. What’s your favorite dynasty to learn about? Mine’s the Habsburgs.
Thanks! Perhaps the Romanovs :)
@@BackToHistoryYT Your welcome. The Romanovs are a close second for, definitely. Have a great weekend.

What about Carl Hugo de Bourbon- Parma ? 🤔

I believe the royal jewels should belong to the former royals in question personally, it was once theirs, so it seems fair.

You 'don't think that the citizens of a unified Germany .............'etc
I guess that stifles any further interest in the subject.
Everyone should follow strict absolute primogeniture, which would change every heir mentioned in this video.

Interesting and well researched video. Thank you for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm sorry his name is GEORG not George. Call the person by his correct name..It's not that Karl /Carl is a hard name to say.
That was established, she used George, the Anglicized version
Love your videos!😊
Its rude not to give people there names. Don't Anglicised names its ignorant.
Tell that same thing to people in Spain who call Catherine, Catalina, Charles, Carlos, and call Elisabeth Isabel .
