Filmed in 2013: This is the second DVD from the Wanderson Contract & Farm series. We spend a year with Agricultural Contractor & Farmer Roger Perry based near Athy, Co.Kildare.
Running a fleet of New Holland Tractors, combines and forager backed up by a JCB 416 loader, we follow him through the year starting out with Winter Maintenance, dung spreading, pressing, drilling, spreading fertilizer, drilling beet & spraying. With his first brand new forager, a New Holland FR600 we spend time at silage, mowing, raking, harvesting and pit work throughout the season.
As the main harvest starts, we see Oilseed Rape, Barley & Wheat harvested, baled and back to grassland reseeding, autumn ploughing and drilling.
We finish up the year seeing Roger's new JCB 418 in action on the silage pit.

What a video! My folks live in the area, and a highlight of the year growing up for my brother and myself was getting to see Roger's big New Holland combine cutting the wheat or barley behind my folks house for a local farmer. Still hope to make it home each August to see them in action again.

Mighty Video. Gear has got a lot bigger and a lot more expensive since then even though its only 10 yrs. Seasons have gotten shorter aswell. Very professional contractor with a great spread of work to keep him going all year round.
I”d agree and lot of the gear featured would have been replaced but plenty of machines around the same size still..
You may do a re-visit! It would be good to see his fleet now!
Great to look back at these again John, would be savage to do a short set of videos on all featured contractors of the various dvds to where they are today.
If i could find a pallet of time somewhere , i might get a chance ;-)

Would I be right in thinking you used release these around Feburary or March, as i think i used get one for the birthday in march, great to see it again, would love to see more made, so handy to have it digitally.
Yeah, it was always a busy time to finalise them over Christmas and have them ready for the FTMTA and spring machinery shows along with a host of model shows…

Thanks.. Roger is a son of JR Perry and brother of Stephen that was running it until it closed a few years ago.
Just when he said "pays attention to detail" the video showed a badly-clogged spray nozle just barely dribbling....sorry, but that's ironic.
