    Thank you Foul Territory for regularly talking Mariners ♥ No east-coast bias on this show.
    Feel bad for the Mariners players. Cal is SUCH a winner and he really has no reason to not get the hell out of town as soon as his contract ends.

      Cal is a stud. They've wasted prime SP and C years for this group. This was the time to push chips in

      @@ScottyBraun-FoulTerritory I realize why you say that...but pushing the chips in is a scary thing to do. Remember when we went all-in and traded some minor-league outfielder for Eric Bedard? You might know him...Adam Jones.

    If you can't compete for prime players then they need to be the Ray's or A's (when they try). Those teams win with little resources, there player development is what we need.

    Mariners starters have a ridiculous amount of quality starts. The problem in Seattle is definitely the bats. The Front Office is losing their marbles. They sometimes trade for good hitters, then don't re-sign their contracts.

    We are SO CLOSE. 😱
    The team in Major League Baseball history with the worst team batting average is the 1910 Chicago White Sox. They finished the season with a team batting average of .211, which is the lowest in MLB history. The 1910 White Sox struggled offensively throughout the season, leading to their historically poor team batting average.

    If the park is not hitter friendly, maybe they should adjust the dimensions like the Orioles did

    Justin Turner is a great guy but bad 1b man. So many plays France would have made and prob better bat.
    Arozarena is streaky I understand and probably a little unhappy with the trade, but I didn’t realize he has a weak arm, and basically poor OF instincts, he has cost us. And Polanco is old, slow and a sub par defender. Several of our starters can’t hold runners, quick teams are exposing that. So add a crappy hitting team for who knows why, and overall this team is poorly constructed by Dipoto. He really messed up.

    They had toscar and didn’t pay him! The gm is an idiot. Toscar signed a 1 year 23 million deal. Then traded for randy for 8 million. N prospects so u add 15 million and boom he would of been there. Toscar had 26 homers and 86 rbis! Also toscar was in toronto they traded him and go see how toronto is doing since he left! A bunch of geeks making analytic decisions is freaking baseball! There second highest paid player is haniger who is batting 211 😂😂😂!
    They can use their pitching prospects to get hitters!

    I wouldn't say the bullpen got caught. As Divish mentioned, we have a lot of our best guys banged up. We have a bullpen relying on 6th inning guys in the 7th and 8th and its why Munoz was leading the league in 4 out saves because all our high leverage arms like Brash are out or often out like Santos.

    • @dadchurch3055
      @dadchurch3055 21 день назад

      But there were players available at the trade deadline and we didn’t get them, especially a good lefty reliever. That’s been missing all year as well as a lefty starter to mix it up. The season has taken a toll on our RH staff.

    • @meric2363
      @meric2363 16 дней назад

      @@dadchurch3055 Not trading for a lefty reliever does not refute the fact that the Mariners do put resources into the bullpen. It simply means you personally didn't like the resources they put into the bullpen.

    Why can't we blame the owner?

  • @usveteran9893
    @usveteran9893 19 дней назад

    I don't think Dan Wilson is the answer. He may fare better in deciding when to replace the pitchers, which may add a few extra wins. In the long run run though, I doubt any manager would be the answer. The true answer will be whether or not John Stanton will ever open the pocket books and spend money for quality players. The current starting line up consists of poor hitting, I believe the best hitter they have in the starting lineup is hitting a whopping .691 ops. Just an average major league hitter is at .700 [and that is a low-end average player].
    If that is going to be fixed, a lot of overhauling will need to be done in the off-season. I would say at least half the team needs to be gone, revamped, and/or replaced. However, that will all be left up to the owner, John Stanton, and his willingness to open the pocketbook. I don't see it happening, though. Why would he suddenly have a change of spending habits?
