It's a mix of russian, jewish and gipsy tunes. I don't know who is composer, however melody really looks like real music what could be played in restaraunts for dancing:) Original russian dance music (with modern sounds but with natural type of signing)vyou can find here, search VOLGA group
May be, man, but I think that its sounds more like hungarian melody. I from russia, and I play a lot folk music on different instruments, and in russian folk we often use the square melodies, like in blues. I think it sounds too complicated for the Russian ear, you know all those stretching notes between four-quarter measures, everything is simpler in Russian folk. But Tom's song sounds amazing. Sorry for my English, man.
