This song was covered by the fellow Finnish doom/death metallers Swallow the Sun on their 3rd full-length album "Hope" (Quite ironic the cover has been chosen as the last song off the album, despite its depressing lyrics and melody)

Because it blatantly contradicts the album title "hope", a thing that is supposed to be really positive has been put to an end by those depressing tunes you mention ;). I find it really ironic, hence..
