You actually did better with it than I thought you would. If you did go through with a new tractor it would be interesting to see a post sale price comparison. It just wouldn't be fair on anyone to make that public knowledge beforehand. My feeling is that the MF is going to be the dearest package of the lot, but I'm probably wrong. Thanks for sharing what you can of the buying process.

another great vid Ian, and I would say a very fair review. I do like the Massey (and the colour matches your trailer) but I've just looked back at two vids you did with the T5 and I must say that is a lovely machine, also you seemed very much at home in the T5 even with the new electronics lol, and wow it is so quiet in the T5. but at the end of the day you are the man parting with the cash and you know what is needed for your farm and the future. one thing I do know it's a difficult choice you have to make and of course what sort of deal they can offer you. brilliant vids keep em coming👍

Good evening Mr. P. I think that was a very fair and honest review I'm sure most of the niggles could be sorted not sure I like the buddy seat just being that steering wheel a different no no. But in the end it is what you are comfortable with, the cost, after sales service and of course what Mrs. P. thinks. Keep well and stay safe.

A very fair assessment that young man. Remember, when you buy any product there are niggly things that could eventually lead to irritation. And as such the niggles come with a cost.
Are you just looking at the Case, New Holland and Massey Ferguson or will you get a John Deere 6120m to compare?

Good unbiased review of the tractor. A few little niggles which im sure could be rectified. Be good to have a Chandlers engineer with you for a couple of hours to go through the machine and set iit up to your requirements. When I worked on Masseys, I would always go through the basics of a tractor with the operator, and then after a few days go back and address any queries they may have. Most of the quality brands have good products, so sure your decision will come down to price, dealership and any freebies they want to throw at you. Sponsored by (insert dealership name here) decals on the bonnet might even get you a better deal.

Your right with the steering wheel you spend a lot of time using it.. you say regularly doing 44 /45 kph but your not interested in a 50 k box , now i know its more money and it has to be justified but that shows that if you did have a 50 k box you'd probably happily do 46 or 48. Kph where you could. Happy tractor hunting

Hi Ian, re loading of trailer. I think you did right by keeping the weight forward, ie, nearer the tractor. Loading the top bales at the rear of the trailer, would only increase the "pendulum effect" and make the side to side yawing even worse. I did some class 1 work years ago and with a wagon and drag, loaded out of Belgium back to the UK with a well known, Swedish furniture brand. Like an idiot, I loaded the trailer first and then the wagon. Big mistake. The ride back to the UK was horrendous with the side to side yawing of the trailer. Lesson learned for sure, load the tractor first and keep the trailer as light as possible.

... think I got from this was that the outside, the working end of things including the cab ride and controls got higher rankings and the down sides were the creature comforts inside the cab .... would imagine the waking up of the hydraulics, when it is sleeping is not putting load on the engine and not burning more fuel .... had to wonder when you pointed out the vents, (AC is cold and cold sinks, hot rises so you would have a hot head in the winter) how would the defrost work, from the top vents would that be enough to get the glass all the down past the dash clear .... like how pointed out the getting used to things ..... thxx for the share FP .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ...

Hi Ian, If the interior set up of the Massey seems a but to over the top remember there are 3 levels of cab setups you can get. Essential (one arm rest with the loader joystick and the gear leave is then placed on the side panel left hand side of the 2 manual spools you have in that model) Then you have Efficient (Which i believe is the current model you are demoing) then Exclusive (all bells and whistles from a touch screen monitor with GPS fitted to full electric Spools and fully kitted out armrest) Each cab level can be equipped with certain things you would want. for example you could have the exclusive model with a screen and manual spools or electric depending on your requirements. All i will say is DO NOT be intimidated by Tech! most Tech that is fitted to tractors now are actually to Aid the Operators to get the best out of there machines! How ever Old School is still the Right School! Love the vids and i hope you are well!

Does it have brake shoes in all 4 corners or still brake off the 4wd?, Dynamic preselects the gear you are going into and basically has it ready for you why its so smooth i think Deere have something similar not sure, i love newhollands start stop pedal very handy, Massey has some good features, the cab does look ultra cramped which is kinda weird nowadays

Ok so I've decide to through my hat in the ring before watching the video, given your reactions of the last few days I would say theirs some good and some bad as expected nothing is going to be perfect, perfect dose not exist. but a good financial package dose. Its all about getting a good deal and keeping pounds in the bank
Its your money so I'm not saying what I would do its not my place to decide what tractor you drive.

The only thing that I noticed is where would you put the control mechanism for the hedge trimmer if seat don't fold?

Good honest review there Ian. How did you find the fuel consumption in the end.

Pretty good actually, but as it didn’t come with a full tank I had no way to measure it.
