- The Chicago Bears have made significant moves to bolster their coaching staff ahead of the 2025 NFL season by hiring Eric Bieniemy as Running Backs Coach, Jim Gray as Tight Ends Coach, and signing Maurice Alexander Jr. to a Futures Contract. Here's a breakdown of their impressive resumes and what they bring to the table:
Eric Bieniemy - Running Backs Coach
Eric Bieniemy joins the Chicago Bears after an illustrious coaching career, most recently serving as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs. Under his leadership, the Chiefs’ offense became one of the most potent in the league, helping guide Patrick Mahomes to multiple MVPs and a Super Bowl LIV championship. Bieniemy's expertise in running back development is undeniable-he has worked with standout players like Jamaal Charles and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Before his time with the Chiefs, Bieniemy also made a significant impact during his years as the running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010. There, he played a crucial role in the development of legendary running back Adrian Peterson, helping him become one of the greatest to ever play the game. Bieniemy worked alongside Peterson during some of his most memorable years, including his 2007 Rookie of the Year season and his 2012 MVP campaign, where Peterson nearly broke the NFL’s single-season rushing record. His ability to unlock the potential of top-tier running backs makes him an ideal fit for the Bears as they look to build a dominant ground game.
Jim Gray - Tight Ends Coach
Jim Gray is a seasoned coach with an extensive background in developing tight ends at both the NFL and college levels. Having served as the Tight Ends Coach for the Minnesota Vikings, Gray was instrumental in the development of Pro Bowl tight end Kyle Rudolph. Gray’s coaching philosophy centers around creating mismatches in the passing game while also maintaining strong blocking techniques. His vast experience and focus on improving tight end play will be key for the Bears as they look to enhance their offensive weapons.
Maurice Alexander Jr. - Futures Contract
Maurice Alexander Jr. has signed a futures contract with the Bears, aiming to make his mark in the NFL. Alexander, a formerly with both the Lions, brings a wealth of experience and athleticism to the team. A standout on special teams during his time in the league, Alexander's versatility could prove to be a valuable asset for the Bears’ depth chart in 2025. His determination to earn a roster spot and contribute to the team’s success shows a strong commitment to making an impact.
The Chicago Bears' offseason moves show a clear focus on improving their coaching staff and adding depth to the roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. With experienced coaching minds in Bieniemy and Gray, and the potential of Alexander Jr. to contribute, the Bears are building a solid foundation for future success.

Ben Johnson is the coach that Chicago needed. He is doing this entire thing right. He was worth the wait. BEAR DOWN AND WELCOME!
He is worth 13M. LFG!!
MAYBE he is.
Sure Looks like That!
This is MASSIVE. 2x Super Bowl Champ, the guy who made Adrian Peterson who he is, and worked with Mahomes? So sold. WELCOME COACH!
GO BEARS!!! GREAT SIGNING w/Bienemy. Welcome to the Bears! Looking forward to FA!! Bear Down!!!!
Ben Johnson is cooking. I love the mixture of youth and experience with the coaching staff.
Welcome Eric! Also glad we kept TE coach and welcome to the first of many Lions coming over!
WELCOME!! I'm digging the hires so far.
It starts with a GREAT CENTER.

This is beyond great.
That was massive getting bieniemy. Also thanks for having his name posted on the video so I could spell his name right! 😂😂
Welcome! Love the hires. This has been an area that the Bears haven’t spent on forever. Keep up the good work hoping to round it out with a top OL Coach. GO! BEARS!
Everyday your notifications and videos help lift my bears spirit just a little more each day 💙🧡🐻⬇️
BIENEIMY IS AN AWESOME ADDITION. Let's get to training camp already IM READY...LETS GOOOO. stacked to say the least Nic
Is he though? I've heard players couldn't stand him.
Bienemy is a very solid RB coach.
Bears going all out I love it 🐻⬇️
Go Bears, Bear Down!!!
Eric Bienemy was a great hire! The Bears need someone with his experience to help Johnson in his first year as a HC. I’m trying to curb my expectations for this team, but this staff is shaping up to be phenomenal. I hope the Bears don’t disappoint me like they usually do.
Welcome Eric Bieniemy
SOLID HIRE!! Bienemey should develop the RB’s room nicely. BEAR DOWN from Az.
Not unless they get some real dangerous running backs. Bears don't have any. Swift is a grossly overpaid scatback and Roschon Johnson is a third stringer at best.
@ true, but they need to fix that O-Line before they go getting themselves any bells and whistles. They need to start from the middle out.
Last year it was all about the passing game this year I predict it's about the running game to compliment the pass
I’m happy with the staff.
Here We Come. Bear Down 👍🏽
They're gonna dominate!!! 🐻
to me...Adrian Peterson made him.... not vice versa.. but still i think a good hire
Yeah , AP was gonna be AP .
Welcome, Bieniemy!
Wow a winner at every level of our coaches which translates to winning on the field.😊 Bear 🐨 down
Welcome to all the coaches. Best staff.
HUGE pickup. Also, love the content brother but pronounce my guy’s name right 😂 there’s an “n” in there! Bieniemy as in: Bee-en-em-ee
Bieniemy! Awesome!
Nic!!! 🐻⬇️
Nick!!!!!

Im so F*ing Pumped bros. I dont know what to do with my hands
Welcome and Bear Down!
BEAR 🐻 DOWN BABY, FGB, PVO, Dray is a good coach to bring back, keep building the people to teach the team how to play together, keep focus during the game that it’s not over until double zeros are on the board and not to make mistakes.
Welcome to the new additions! Lets do this!
Bear down 🐻🐻🐻🐻💯✌🏿
This definitely signals a RB at that number 10 pick and OLine in free agency in my opinion! Love the new coaching staff and direction we’re going!!!!! 🐻⬇️
It signals nothing .
Welcome! LFG!!!!
Also, don't forget that Eric Bieniemy was the RB coach when they drafted Kareem Hunt. Hunt balled out when he was the RB coach.
Hunt has played well everywhere.
Bear down Bears. The Monsters of the Midway are back
HECK YEAH!!! WELCOME!
Welcome Eric
Welcome! Bear Down!
Ready for a super bowl
Welcome! 🐻⬇️
Woooooowooooow! Here comes da train!
Welcome to Da Bears
Ben Johnson surrounds himself with excellence and different types of experience so he can delegate to his coach's that inturn allow him to call offensive plays. Quality from the top trickles down to everyone in the organization. Look what Detroit did, despite all those injuries they almost went to the Super Bowl. All that scoring with Caleb and join that with our stacked defense and it's Super Bowl XX , history repeats itself 😊. Welcome all new coaches that will get us to the February game we crave so. We should of beaten Green Bay twice last year, one field goal away. Has anyone noticed that we seem to have Jordan Loves #. There's only one Jordan in Chicago and he doesn't throw a football 🏈😊
Ro Jo better show some promise now !
Welcome!
Welcome. Building this coaching staff is coming along. But waiting for OLine Coach
Eric bieniemy welcome bear down da bears
WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!!!!
GO JOHNSON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eric Bieniemy is a HUGE hiring. Even though for some reason, some just not seeing it. It’s not like he’s an Asst. HC or even our OC, he’s “Our RB’s Coach” not to mention it helps our staff because he’s a not 1 but 2X Super Bowl Winning Coach. He also worked with P. Mahomes & Adrian Peterson. He’s a great hire for our city and our staff.
I do want to say one thing, Bieniemy “Better Keep His Hands To Himself” IDC What Happens! Chicago does not play about Domestic Violence! I’m just saying 🐻⬇️
Welcome 🎉🎉🎉
Bear Down!!
Da bears are awesome & I'm praying for a ben johnson jersey. I have zero luck winning anything but this would be an awesome 1st. GO BEARS!!
If this guy is super fast why the hell not use him. We need someone like that.
Welcome
Personally I hope we don't give up any draft picks in trades. You never know when a 6th rounder will turn out as the goat.
Welcome Coaches and players! BEAR DOWN! FGB
WELCOME EB
I love how the Bears keep being so aggressive I hope I continues in free agency… BEAR DOWN!!!
Ben Johnson is the GOAT. Welcome!
ok im bears fan since 85 fast forward today we coming up 2025 season it been 40yrs since my bears won superbowel ,hopfully this sb coach team, this what get frim this channel how yall telling the updates let go
Welcome Chi Town New Bear.
1. Roschon is way slow regardless of the coach.
2. No one has ever said Bieneimy made Mahomes.
3. Signing a camp body to the practice squad isn’t a “huge” signing.
4. Debbie Downers are never invited back to parties
welcome to the da bears
Welcome ben johnson
LFGGGGGGG!!!!!!
YESSSSIR
Whoa, Johnson is putting together a staff that looks to be very poachable in the future. A number of coaches who put the Bears back on the feared list again. We know that with success comes the desire for other teams to poach our coaches, just look at what coaches Detroit has had hired away from them. Welcome Eric, help make us winners again.
DA b ears🐻🐻❄🐼
Beardown
We’re building a juggernaut in chi town
Does this mean we get Ashton jeanty
Because they filled a rb coach job that was opened anyway🤔 Not quite. I do believe the interests in Kaleb Johnson for possible 2nd rd considerations, though.
welcome
If all of these smart coaching hires is me just dreaming, please don't wake me up.
Bear down
Let's stop tying Adrian Peterson's success to Bieniemy. Adrian would have been great with me coaching him.
Bear down, send me the jersey please!
Kent was not hot this season as a matter of fact draft a good TE and cut the old folks this may wake Cole up
Because Caleb Williams wouldn't throw to him.
Roschon Johnson is too slow
The bears offense will be completely unrecognizable 2025 mark the words.
Hold your pants guys. Bieniemy has flamed out in his last I don't know how many jobs he's had. There has to be something seriously wrong with this guy's personality. Not high on this hire...sorry. Peterson and Mahomes were super high draft picks. I like every hire they made so far...except for this one.
Don't put too much into "developing " Adrian Peterson. The coach just got luck of the draw on that one
I am surprised that McCaskey wallet is loose Good talent cost Money
Matt ebeflus wasn’t the problem. He was a great defensive cordnator. He knew how to lead a locker room and he was pretty decent with time management for like every game besides the detriot one. He should have been our DC this year. He would have developed Caleb into a 4k yard passer and made sweat and dexter all pros. The organization failed eberflus
