Really nice. You answered a lot of questions that many people had about what you did and how you did it. My wife has a question.... why did you decide to shave your head and stay bald ? Be good, be safe !!
I had wondered why/how you chose where to stay at night on trips. I think establishments just get tired of towels being stolen so they don't spend much on them. We stayed at a nice hotel once, they had hand towels for towels! There were 2 towels and 3 of us, and I have long hair. We had brought a few towels as well ( that my husband said wouldn't be needed😂)so that saved the day. So glad you stopped at Lamberts! We need to go back again. I'm enjoying your behind the scenes, I know they are more work but I appreciate them. I believe small towns are the backbone of the country. Enjoy exploring, stay safe and GOD bless
Great video John! Most of the drive reminds me of my travels through Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky. Haven't been through much of Illinois and Kentucky but some of it. Thanks sharing with us. Stay safe.
One thing I look for in my room is location. If you are facing the HI way how much traffic. Good example is Oakley KS. The motel right off 40 Hiway (I 70) by truck stop is loud. Drive down 40 a mile or so and there is a motel that you don't get all the road noise. Love the rating system.
I really enjoyed the night shots in Jefferson City. It added a new dimension to your videos. I loved the hotel ratings. I might suggest changing the water pressure category to pressure and temperature. I’ve stayed in too many places where the water was barely warmer than the cold!
Another great video! Loved the dog you petted at that one hotel. I always miss my animals when I travel, so I pet all the dogs and cats that I can during that time 😊
AHHHHHHH!!😃 THE DELORME!! THE BEST MAPS EVER!!! I FOUND MY FIRST ONE WHEN I SPENT MY FIRST RETIREMENT WINTER IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND RAMBLED THE BACK ROADS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY! SINCE THEN I HAVE AQUIRED 10 MORE, AS I FOUND THEM ON MY TRAVELS! PERHAPS I WILL GET THE WHOLE NORTH AMERICAN COLLECTION EVENTUALLY!! WHEN I SAW YOU HIT SIKESTON I WONDERED IF YOU WOULD DISCOVER LAMBERTS!!
Seeing your behind, no wait let me rephrase allowing a view behind the curtain was exciting. I remember watching those videos you popped up. You do a good job of picking motels. Your catch on that roll toss was expert level. Fun to see you smoking thru that pack running and a plus on those elk.
I enjoyed watching this video. It’s interesting to see the behind the scenes work that goes into planning and executing the trips. I’m looking forward to the next one.
Hey Coach. Good stick pass in the relay. We had a totally blind, voice cue stick pass that worked well back in the days of super 8 film. You were moving very well and gaining ground, good performance.
Jeff City will be on our bucket list to travel at christmas time , looks pretty at nightime with the Christmas lights and will definately visit Paddy's!
@@TravelwithaWiseguyOr as Jeff Foxworthy said, "use to could"! Keep at the exercise, and maybe get some of that old zing back. Mother Nature sure loves to stick our youth abilities back in our faces as we age. Now at 75 years of age, too much hurts to even think about it. Another great video. I love the country views. And my but some of those old overhead bridges still look stately. Not many of them left now.
Well since you're profiling parts of my home state I gotta watch, thanks 👍🏾 We did the US 50 route from KC to the Defiance MO area to attend a wedding back in October. Beautiful drive to revisit, it's been over 35 years between driving the route previously.
I enjoyed this video so much! Now this is funny, but I thought I was the only person who packs a towel 😂 Guess not! Just this weekend, I was watching a documentary on that Mayfield Tornado, so devastating to the community. Keep making the behind the scenes videos, PLEASE 😊
Haha great minds think alike 😉 Yes such a terrible situation there in Mayfield - tough driving around there seeing it. And I’ve got one more BTS video for Sunday. Maybe I need to take someone with me as a videographer because it’s hard to keep track 😂😂
Wow, you were fast - although you’re not exactly a sloth now, either. I noticed the old stone (?) guardrail we see at around 21:20, more charm than the modern-day ones, imo. I love the dog at the hotel, and your hotel rating system / KPIs will be a lot of fun. Speaking of hotels, have you ever changed your mind about one because when you arrived it didn’t look safe? Thank you for another video!
Another very interesting video John, thank you. It's a bit like watching an 'unplugged' music video, you get to see it... warts and all. I have to ask, do you pronounce the capital of Egypt the same as Cairo, Illinois? we pronounce it 'Kigh-roh' here in the UK. I really did enjoy the Three notch road video that you mentioned, especially the part about the old mill, a shame to see the old place so 'tumbled-down'. Finally, we older folk of the UK are familiar with Claksville, Tennessee, because the band 'The Monkees' had their first hit 'Last train to Clarksville' in 1966 and it was very popular here. Thank you very much John! Oh by-the-way I rate Hotels a little different 1. Cleanliness. 2. Warm water and somewhere to wash up. 3. Price. 4. Breakfast and a decent cup of tea. 5. Sleeping facilities. I am quite used to various showers and baths... even communal for the team as an ex-rugby player, I always take my own towel and soap when staying out for a night. (I would always avoid Hotels when travelling about here in the UK and go for B & B's [Bed and Breakfast, usually the residence of a Land lord or lady and served breakfast before leaving] so much more personal, cheaper and usually better).
We pronounce the Egyptian town same as you. The Illinois town is different. And yes there is a mural with the last train to Clarksville there! I put a brief snippet in my Tennessee Route 13 video. Nice rating system 😊
I know you put this out 4 months ago but just now watching it. You said you went to St Genevieve Mo. and I watch two RUclips channels called Early American and Frontier Patriot and they are very informative Justine and Ron both work in St Genevieve historians of primitive life she cooks old recipes from 1700’s 1800’s if you interested they are awesome to watch.
Jefferson City was so picturesque. The dry scrambled eggs and lone sausage patty made me lose my appetite. You should have edited it out! Be good and safe Coach!😊
I'm a day late and a penny short but I have some ideas for you for your travels. When my Mother and I went to California (1979) we took food and some drinks with us. Like bread and peanut butter, fresh fruit and little cans of fruit drinks like V-8. You talked about stained towels at one place you stayed at, why didn't you ask for some more towels and explain why? Taking your own towel was a good idea. I know you have traveled to more places than I have but these were just suggestions. I liked this trip and I really enjoyed seeing Key West Florida back at Christmas time which I know this video led up to. Happy trails to you and God bless.
Thanks for the suggestion about the towels - usually I don’t notice until I’m about to use the towel so I should check and request as soon as I get there haha. But I’m usually focused on other things 😊 thanks for taking the time to watch! Next Sunday will finish up back down in Key West ☀️
5 stars for the Wiseguy channel !
Woohoo 🙌🏼
Thanks Wiseguy! I give this 5 gold stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😂
😂😂
Ahhh, you picked the absolute best place to eat in Jefferson City, MO. Nothing like Paddy's!
😊 it was really good!
Really nice. You answered a lot of questions that many people had about what you did and how you did it. My wife has a question.... why did you decide to shave your head and stay bald ? Be good, be safe !!
Ha! I looked “better” bald 😊 just a normal razor twice a week!

Good point about the towels! Lamberts was very interesting 😂😂
I..GIVE THIS VIDEO 5..OUT OF..5..😊
😂😂

Thank you! Lots of interesting and beautiful places to explore in all those areas!
As always, Thumbs up!😎👍
Thanks again!
Jefferson City is beautiful at night! I'm impressed with the lighting of the buildings.
I agree - nice city and the capital area is beautiful at night!
Location is a good one. Also being able to park close to my room because I have a bunch of stuff haha
I really enjoyed the night shots in Jefferson City. It added a new dimension to your videos.
I loved the hotel ratings. I might suggest changing the water pressure category to pressure and temperature. I’ve stayed in too many places where the water was barely warmer than the cold!
Haha I’m a weirdo that actually takes cold showers from time to time 😬
Thanks for sharing. All of the elk were neat to see. Lov the behind the scenes videos.
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks!
Another great video! Loved the dog you petted at that one hotel. I always miss my animals when I travel, so I pet all the dogs and cats that I can during that time 😊
I don’t have any pets so it’s nice to pet one when I can 😊

I think I'm up to about 20 at this point - love them! Lambert's was great :)
I don't know how you keep track of everything, good video.
Thanks! I definitely have to keep organized, but my brain seems to work that way :)
Let it roll down the highway.....Great RIDE..Thanks
Right on! 😊
Impressive run at Kent State! Yes, time has a way of changing everything. (and you are still young)
Haha thanks! I’d pull a hammy if I tried to do that now 😂

Thank you for all the planning that goes into your trips. I have enjoyed all your videos. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Aww so kind of you to say!!
Great video brother! Your videos always make my day
I appreciate that! Glad you like them!
I enjoyed watching this video. It’s interesting to see the behind the scenes work that goes into planning and executing the trips. I’m looking forward to the next one.
Thank you! I get asked these questions a lot so its fun to put it together in a video :)
I really enjoyed this video. Working in a behind the scenes piece every so often is an interesting addition.
Thanks! It's a fun change up :)
Hey Coach. Good stick pass in the relay. We had a totally blind, voice cue stick pass that worked well back in the days of super 8 film. You were moving very well and gaining ground, good performance.
Thanks! The good ole days :)
New approach, I enjoyed this behind the scenes
Thank you!
Jeff City will be on our bucket list to travel at christmas time , looks pretty at nightime with the Christmas lights and will definately visit Paddy's!
I enjoyed visiting too! Unique “capital” city!
Go Coach ....you really are fast
Ha! Used to be fast (Not anymore) :)

That's neat you also visited St. Genevieve, just about 3 weeks before we did. And you visited Lambert's, nice catch!
Oh nice! And thanks it was a better throw 😂

Very fun area to explore - so much to see!
Another great video! Lamberts in Sikeston. Loved it. Thanks.
It was a unique experience! :)
I thought the 3 Notch Road video was one of the better vids in this trip. Great behind the scenes vid! Love it! 😉👍
Thank you very much! That was an interesting trip!

Do you ever check out the night life , when you're on the road. The fire in Texas, the aftermass could be a great video. Have a great week
I have before, but I usually try to get up early and a late night (at my age) make it tougher!
I haven't been to Paddy Malone's in years...Elephant Rocks is a neat park. I live about an hour south of there.
Nice! I enjoyed both as well!

Jefferson City was so picturesque. The dry scrambled eggs and lone sausage patty made me lose my appetite. You should have edited it out! Be good and safe Coach!😊
Haha yeah I thought that was funny 😂
I fell asleep watching the first time. Here’s to viewing number 2 😅
Oops that’s not a good sign 😬
@@TravelwithaWiseguyit was 2am when I was first watching it! 😂
Wise guy do you think the Mississippi River is one mile wide at St Louis?
It didn't seem that wide where I crossed, but then again I was a sprinter not a distance runner haha!
How was that hotel near cairo illinois???
It was the one in Sikeston and got 5 stars!
What is a health breakfast for you? And you show us that you are filling your gas tank, please show us the price you are paying.
Usually some kind of lean meat and eggs. Coffee.

Ha! Not as much dairy these days but I’m not against it 😊
You think Chevy Chase kept his Million s ? I don't recall him being in any scandals.
Not sure but I always heard sketchy things about him. He was great in these movies though!
Coach, was you really running that fast or did you speed up the video...tell the truth now. 😉
Ha! Hard to believe but that was actual speed - but if it were me running today I would have to speed it up x10!
