    I’ve had both of these bikes. A 2004 VTR-1000 and a K7 GSX-R 1000.
So I know there’s about a 60+bhp differential in favor of the Suzuki (stock anyway) and you still kept up pretty good. But no Gixer will sound as cool as a SuperHawk. As long as that pesky cam chain is working right. Lol.

Nothing wrong with the chains its the tensioners but that goes with lots of bikes

I've had both bikes as well and many more I think the VTR 996 the way it delivers its power I think it's one of the funnest bikes out there it's definitely a quick bike and that sound can't b beat it's the best sound ever but the way the power comes on at any time makes it seem faster than it actually is.. don't get me wrong nothing slow about the bike but if you own one you know what I'm talking about .. I love the bike and it freaking handles good for its year mine is a 2001 but I would like to upgrade to a set of CBR 1000 front shocks I have CBR 600 and CBR 1000 it actually reminds me more of the 600 in the twisties the bike really does handle well I just slap new dunlaps on there and of course that made a huge difference bike dry is only 427 lb wet for 60 takes a gallon of oil huge crankcase and we got almost 3 gallons for the tank horrible gas mileage is the only thing I can say bad about the bike about 130 miles to a tank yeah it's enough though I can go deep into the Sierras and have nothing to worry about I can always find a station somewhere hasn't been an issue yet the VTR 1000 legendary status in my book

Nice run. Looks like a nice sport bike verses a race bike, but you did well. Nice to see the old Fox body gap that POS ahead of you too.

Superhawk sounds great but I can't believe they let you do a burnout with another vehicle at the starting line.

I thought all tracks did that. My local track does at least sometimes

Wish i could set off like that on my vtr. my cluch is awful on drag style getaways, the clutch bites then disengages and i have to re clutch. i thought all vtr 1000s did it

Love to know what your ET was and what mods?..
I just stepped down from a CBR929 down to a 996. The 929 ran great but had 250,000 miles and all the little problems that come with it, like electrical gremlins and parts are scarce.
I like the 996, but other than gearing, there isn't a lot mod wise for it that makes big power inexpensively...

Pretty sure the VTR can’t do it that quick
So I’m guessing your talking about the gsxr ? Only because a normal VTR does it in around 11 secs ..

My 98 is running strong at 48k miles. I absolutely love the torque band and I can keep that front wheel up all the way to 100mph+ if I'm really feeling froggy.
