Why not ban anyone born after 2010 from being given socialist material?
Everyone born after 2010 from being propagandized to become vegetarian?
Everyone born after 2010 from being able to access any internet systems not made for education or work?
Good idea
Well, because none of those have any actual health benefits. In fact, the last two could actually be detrimental to health.
@@dewilew2137 Socialism has irrefutably been proven, countless times, to reduce peoples' life expectancy, quality of life, etc. not to mention the massive amounts of 'life endings' cause directly and indirectly in many ways by socialist regimes whenever they're finally powerful enough to do what they always intended to do.
This has worked so well for drugs. There will be tobacco pushers outside every school.
Drugs are illegal except when they're legal I guess.
The hypocrisy of politicians is stunning.
You really don't hear anyone say 'it's a free country' anymore. That means that this madness has permeated it's way through both media and entertainment.
Y’all never had a “free country”.
Did they consider at all what this does to tourism? Do they think smokers will come to the UK as tourists if they're not allowed to buy any tobacco? I'm guessing they won't be allowed to import cigarettes either? Do they think smokers will quit smoking just to visit the UK?
Personally, I don't believe any substance should be banned, whether it's tobacco or heroin. I'm a believer in personal responsibility and prohibition creates criminal networks, not sobriety. I do not condone cigarettes or narcotics I just think a government naughty list is both pointless and potentially harmful.
But then again when they ban something people might wanna use it more because its banned so you might be right 😂
I agree. However, just because something is legal it does not mean there will not be any criminal network also selling the same product(s). Typically when something 'controversial' is legalized it is heavily taxed and heavily regulated which opens the door to a 'black market'. Also, in the US at least, legal (on the state level) dispensaries find it extremely difficult or impossible to operate within the traditional banking framework and that creates a host of problems. Gov't needs to get all the way out of it for legalization to be meaningful.....and they never will. There is far too much potential revenue at stake.
Well that’s not working out so well in Portland and Seattle.
@@dewilew2137 so, what would? I believe their societal issues go beyond drugs. They're just the symptom, in this case.
@@j.joseph5353 I agree, but the stakes are far lower.
I'm from the left but agree with Spiked on this. Britain is a highly puritanical country now. You miss out the class aspect to this though. Even Chomsky once commented that if it was the middle class doing all the smoking there would be no bans and also pointed to the hypocrisy in their alcohol use. There has always been a puritanical aspect to the left that Orwell criticised in the essays and Road to Wigan Pier that isn't in the proles that Orwell saw freedom in. Although Sunak has brought this law in its origins are more from the authoritarian liberal 'left' and puritanical socialists. Merry England is dead and it died a long time ago.
There's another new revenue stream for the Albanians.
I am happy for people to have the freedom to smoke. As long as they don't get upset when I complain about them smoking near me. That is something that I should be just as free to do.
So You are allowed to be upset by other peoples behaviour but others aren't allowed to get upset by your behaviour.
3:45 Bad Macarena.
What about alcohol ? It’s always the smokers to be targeted 😡😡😡😡
Don't worry, that will be next, followed by food.
This is going to happen in NZ as well.
Actually they have just repealed that proposal
I'm am surprised because that is killing people
This needs resisting.
My body, my choice......
We have gone stark raving mad. Jasmin Alibi-Brown, the most annoying person on TV said opined on air that drinking alcohol was obnoxious and should banned. Sunak is finished as a prime minister in any case and has taken his party into oblivion for at least a generation. Anyway what dies he care, he’s had a Green Card in his pocket for a while and a lucrative position in the US awaits with such as JP Morgan or Goldman Sachs. 😂
Look up Falstad Act!
Alcohol next? Then sugar and meat?
Politicians will never ban alcohol
Hands
Can you do a video about Sunak wanting to make it impossible to get a fit note from your GP if you have anxiety or depression
I miss the days of going to the pub, drinking shit beer and smoking cigs. Shit for the health, I suppose, but a necessary respite from the tedium of daily life.
"CONSERVATIVE" party?!
In 2016, it was estimated that the NHS spent £2.6 billion on smoking related healthcare. What is freedom for the smoker, means lack of freedom for non smokers for treatments where there could be on a long waiting list for non-smoking illnesses, due to lack of funds. I am an ex smoker.
Using healthcare costs as an argument leads to extremely dangerous slippery slope, as then sky is the limit in what government could and would control. Would you like government mandated/regulated diet, exercise, consumables, sleeping times and condition? Everything we do in life affects health one way or another, so giving away freedom and making government responsible for our health would lead to unprecedented tyranny.
And how much do we pay for you eating cancer seed oils and sugar
get used to the idea that you are just cattle to these politicians,
We should focus on being free of illegal immigration.
Who is immigrating to the UK illegally? I thought y’all just hated immigrants in general.
I do not want to breathe second hand smoke unless I am at a cigar bar....what about vaping....I dont like that either
Stay at home then Tinkerbell.
@@Peterbrendanalbert You're only to blame when you get lung cancer Princess
As much as hate this authoritarian crap, seeing the way smokers chuck this toxic shit on the floor and they then end up in waterways being eaten by wildlife, has me agreeing with this ban.
It's just a market ban. Yes it should be banned. Not illegal. Just banned from stores
Crisp packets.. BAN CRISPS.
We might actually have a functioning NHS if this works. Whatever the contraband argument is it’s less accessible and that can’t be underestimated.
Say goodbye to your tourism industry. 😂
