Why is Lhaksam interested in the GCM controversy? Because I used to be a football player and have played several times in GCM. I am from Darjeeling. That’s why I completely understand the GCM situation and the identity crisis faced within the Tibetan community. I was often called Nepali and bullied numerous times, even though I have had a green book since I was very young. This is a serious issue in our Tibetan community in exile. Long story short, after watching a clarification from the Dhasa team manager, here are my questions: 1. Why does TNSA remain silent? 2. Why did Golathala complain after the game? 3. The Dhasa goalkeeper was not a new player; he already played in last year’s GCM tournament. That tells a lot about his background. Why did Golathala complain after the semi-final? 4. Why is TNSA allowing players’ identification to be rechecked after the semi-final? Organizers and players shouldn’t have any doubts because the documentation of each individual player was already submitted on the first day of the tournament and thoroughly checked by TNSA. 5. Why didn’t TNSA start the final game on time? They should have controlled the situation before the final game. That’s TNSA’s responsibility! There is no point to argue each other who is wrong And right. Afterall the case is over. All the team captains lead by Tnsa board members should cross check all the documents of green book with additional identity cards in order to get smooth verification process before the prestigious tournament kicks off. If still whoever claim false documents after tournament kickstarted, everyone is responsible . So there is no point to hang on the barrier. A show must go on till the final whistle blows.
Don’t tell me the proof for goalkeeper using someone else’ green book was that two gulathala guys talking to a random person on the phone and him claiming his friend was using his green book! That’s not an evidence whatsoever.
All these issues shows the incapability of the TNSA and any other organisations involved in organising the GCM. All the present post holders should be kicked out of their positions and new ones should be appointed. By the way, shame on we Tibetans, since several years we are always involved in unending internal disputes and conflicts. If we spend all our energies in these kind of disputes and conflicts, how are we going to strengthen and unite ourselves to fight for our greater Goal… I personally think that the fame of the GCM is more important than the player’s identity.
