I’ve seen this opera twice onstage - once with Birgit Nilsson & Eva Marton; next with Christine Goerke & Meagan Miller. All sang splendidly. But I still have no idea what this opera is about. So convoluted, it makes Il Trovatore seem like a model of clarity.
