Blue cheese was tricky, it’s more of a condiment then a meal ingredient, and you should’ve seasoned it, so it isn’t flavorless, and I don’t mean salt and pepper, the seasoning with flavor.
Blue cheese is flavorless? Tell that to my guts! I mean they do take a peek at the outside world whenever they spot it, by smell, sight, touch, taste, AND hearing! And boy, can I spot it!
Hey hey hey, don’t diss on cabbage, you can make a frickin amazing stew with cabbage. My grandma is German/Russian and she makes this amazing cabbage borscht and it is literally so good.
I honestly agree with everyone defending cabbage, thats literally one of the vegetables i eat the most out of all of them. Like they're so crunchy too! 🥬
You could have bought normal pears and feta cheese. Chop the pears into tiny cubes, boil the pasta for 10 minutes in water. Cut the cabbage into small strips and put the pears and cooked pasta in a salad bowl add the walnuts and make a delicious salad Edit: I forgot the feta cheese cut it into small cubes and add it in the salad thin mix
Blue cheese, walnuts and (fresh) pears are a staple on many Italian / French style cheese boards and a perfect combo. And red cabbage goes very well with these too. I would've used fresh pears to begin with, really charred the cabbage until it has some black bits, the toasted the walnuts, melted the blue cheese put in the pasta with some pasta water (no sugary canned pear juice!) and put in some slices of the pear at the very last. 😋
I agree with almost everything but I am not so sure about the cabbage. Does a meal with 5 ingredients means you have to put everything together? Cabbage seasoned on its own would be good
u should've: 1. carmalised the walnuts in the pear juice 2. while the pasta is cooking add ricotta cheese and the cabbage 3. in the end add the pear for freshness and top it all with the carmalised walnuts
No, no. Cabbage is so good oh my God, my mom and sister love these crab puffs from this Chinese Restaurant we've went to for years and they have this I believe sweet and sour red sauce and I love dipping and eating the cabbage. Usually they don't eat it, and there's usually some sauce left enough for the cabbage and it's just mmm.
Grate the cabbage, season it with a bit of the pear juice. Crumble the blue cheese an walnuts into it. Add cubed pears and cooked pasta. If your allowed also add salt and pepper. Makes for a delicious pasta salad.
I would let the pears and walnuts simmer for a long time creating a sweet, stick, syrup (hopefully), then mix the cabbage into that and have sweet cabbage. Then just out the blue cheese on the side as an extra
Blue cheese is quite difficult to melt, gorgonzola (picante or not) would've been a better option, it has a similar taste too. 😊 Personally here's what I would've done: - Finely chop the blue cheese so it melts easier - Caramelise the pears (only) instead - Save up the pear juice and some pasta water, and mix it all up with the blue cheese to make your sauce - Add cabbage towards the end of the cooking so it has a bit of crunch - Top it all up with chopped walnuts for that *extra* crunch I'd try making this, but I hate walnuts. 😂
Toast ur almonds, put them to the side. Caramelize the pears using the liquid in the can as sugar, tho u might have to reduce it for a while. Take them out. Great! Dissolve the remaining sugar in that pain with water. Boil the living shit out of that cabbage. Take it out. Add salt. Reduce that sugar again while you start your pasta in a separate dish to see if u can get some kinda glaze outta it. Make your pasta. Drain pasta. If the glaze didn't take, MAYBE try ur pasta water to see if that starch helps thicken it. Mix pasta with VERY boiled down cabbage (like. Corned beef and cabbage cooked down), then cover with melted blue cheese (tho I woulda done goat or parmigian), salt, caramelized pears, and toasted walnuts. If the glaze worked out, add that. This would be really good with some lemon juice and balsamic glaze, but, five ingredients, and I already gave you salt 🤷. Congrats! You just made pear walnut and gorgonzola (itallian blue cheese) salad but with pasta!!!
pasta salad would've tasted OK if you could have added other ingredients like vinegar olive oil just salt whatever etc. pickled red cabbage is always very good for salads
I would cook the pasta. Then add the juice from the pears and the cook a few pears to go with it. I would cook he cabbage up and add the cheese over the top and then melt the cheese over it. Then I would put the pasta on a plate and add the pear and juice top with the cabbage cheese mix and sprinkle the walnuts over the top
You could have doe a cabbage salad with pasta. Shred the cabbage finely. Cook pasta mix cheese and nuts. Top with fruit. Much better but I like shredded greens of all kinds. I still have greens growing in my garden and it is5 days after Christmas in Kingsport, Tn
Cabbage is an amazing vegetable if you how how to cook it. Literally just go to Asia. Mmm my favorite is Kol Goreng which is a friend cabbage in Indonesia with a little bit of msg. Or in a soup cabbage is great too!
you should've chose cream cheese mush up the pasta like pastry cool the cabbage wallnuts and peach in sugar make it a filling for your pasta made pastry with the cream chese and you got a weird dessert.
one time when I was little my mom made cabbage and sausage in a crock pot or something and burnt it and LEFT IT AND NEGLECTED TO TAKE IT OUT AND THROW IT AWAY WHILE IT ROTTED AWAY IN THE HOUSE FOR DAYS omg the absolute stench still lingers in my nose

Her pronunciation of “farfalle” is the most American thing I’ve heard all week.
I’m American and I agree...
I've never heard of it before but I know the way she said can't be right
that’s how it’s pronounced
@@purrbs hate to disagree, but it’s not
@@purrbs love to disagree, it’s really not
"I left it to simmer so hopefully it will carmelize…”
It's not going to carmelize if you boil it in pasta water😂😂😂
Well of course you're going to think cabbage is nasty when you barely season anything you eat
😂😂😂yooo that was harsh
Dayum
The only thing wrong here is the cheese.
You could have used ricotta I guess
Not judging, but I really don't like ricotta cheese...
Cabbage is good tho-
It is my favorite food

Walnuts could've been blended into something creamy too.
Fuck, the same dish with damn fresh pears would’ve been AMAZING. In Italy we have blue cheese and pear risotto that’s amazing 😄
