Oasis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Clash, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, The Stone Roses, Eric Clapton, The Smiths... No one comes even close to us in terms of musical history and its one of the few reasons I am proud to be British
+Declan Madina radiohead, jesus and the mary chain, belle and sebastian, T.Rex, wire, the stranglers, small faces, the zombies, Van morrison, cream, deep purple, supergrass, the verve, super furry animals, XTC, Manic street preachers, the charlatans, the happy mondays, Spiritualized, teenage fanclub
I love everything about this song. The lyrics are superb, the chords I love and this is some of the best drumming of Tony. Too many Oasis song were wasted by being on B-sides. Thank god The Masterplan was released, otherwise songs like Fade Away, Listen Up, Talk Tonight, Headshrinker, Rockin Chair (the list goes on) wouldn't be nearly as known.
My interpretation of this is that despite all the wild fantasies we have as children about being astronauts and inventors and changing the world, they all fade away as we grow up to realise that we're just a normal part of society.
When I was young I thought I had my own key I knew exactly What I wanted to be Now I'm sure You've boarded up every door Lived in a bubble Days were never ending Was not concerned About what life was sending Fantasy was real Now I know much about the way I feel I'll paint you the picture 'Cause I don't think You live round here no more I've never even seen The key to the door We only get what we will settle for While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away away away They fade away away away Now my life has turned Another corner I think it's only best That I should warn you Dream it while you can Maybe someday I'll make you understand I'll paint you the picture 'Cause I don't think You live round here no more I've never even seen The key to the door We only get what we will settle for While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away away away They fade away away away They fade away away away Fade away away away
Lol no I didn't mean it that way I just meant they were for me personaly the band I loved growing up in the 90's. Nobody came close to them my opinion though
Crawford Baptie Haha sorry, I only asked because John Lennon used the very same phrase in his music, and Oasis fans generally are Beatles fans too and vice -versa(at least I am), so I thought it was a refference.
I have the 2 " Benson + Hedges " style box set's, silver and gold with 5 disc's in each with all the B-sides, 20 yrs later and im you tubing the same songs ! Timeless classics never get old
Irrefutable fact, they changed my life NOT a single day passes without Me soaking in the gift of they're music... ABSOLUTELY MAD FER IT AS FK!!! ( from america)
A very rare heavy Oasis song. He's played the drums like those of grunge bands like Dave Grohl, just smashes the cymbals like a bitch spank. This truly defines the 90's grungy era
Cool list. Mine would be quite similar but definitely include "shock of the lightning". I think that one although more modern has the proper oasis vibe to it. Mad fer it.
This list has now changed, you just can't pick a top 5 and keep it the same, this band have so many good songs. Listen up, Stay young, Fade In-Out, headshrinker & thank you for the good times are all up there now. All massively underrated, thank you oasis.
While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away While we're living The dreams we have as children fade away away away away Live Forever Oasis
It's about the dreams you have as a child slipping away as you become older and realise that you probably won't be what you wanted to be as a kid. However, Noel writes 'Dream it while you can, maybe someday I'll make you understand' which I think says if you dream hard enough, they might come true. That's my interpretation anyway pal.
The biggest and only mistake oasis ever made was getting rid of tony mccarroll. Definitely maybe was the best album they ever had. Doesn't sound the same without him
Another Oasis B side that is better than most A sides that get churned out these days. There has never been or will ever be a better band than Oasis.....FACT!
the dress sense of these lads...ages them 20 years to the beatles era just in colour. You think they had that in mind back when they were dressing like this? Genius in my eyes
+iSynthh "looks like sometime in 96' " :D and how do you come to that conclusion?? it was actually 1995 on the 31st of december at 11:59 PM. 1996??? Sure thing pal.
"While we living, the dreams we have as children fade away" If Noels dream was to become a respected musician, he is a funny guy thinking that he makes his dreams come true by telling others their dreams are fading away. :)
@jeyson2203 I have The Masterplan CD on my radio hard drive & as soon as the gentle & actually emotional song of Going Nowhere bringing back memories, the 5th track came on & on this occasion I forgot about the listing & didn't think that Fade Away was coming up. The tempo was different and I just gunned the car 4 no gd reason other than listen 2 the track & a gd excuse to speed. Its a Mazda 6 MPS with a Bose sound system. Its just pure quality music been blasted out of a quality sound system.
It sounds like PRETTY VACANT INTRO by the Sex Pistols & FREEDOM the whole tune by WHAM. Noel Galagher is a master of innovating music covers, mostly Beatles
I was driving to this earler this morning and I went crazy! I hammered the car like a crazy motherfucking bitch and it was brilliant! A fantastic song to drive with, make a usually dull drive feel like been struck by lightning. Oasis represents excellence and quality in music and don't forget that!
+Declan Madina God save the queen mate
That's what the ellipses is for
Yep and even new bands are great : Royal Blood and Darlia ;) 👍
Thanks, I also love most of them to, was just trying to get the point across that we have produced the best musical minds in the world
+Declan Madina radiohead, jesus and the mary chain, belle and sebastian, T.Rex, wire, the stranglers, small faces, the zombies, Van morrison, cream, deep purple, supergrass, the verve, super furry animals, XTC, Manic street preachers, the charlatans, the happy mondays, Spiritualized, teenage fanclub
While we're living everyone's taste of music fades awaaaay
disposable music fades away.
Real
Got that right bro
Fade Away and Listen Up in my opinion are the most beautiful and underrated songs of Oasis!!
silverarrow1981 fully agree
Can't argue with that
Imagine thinking this isn't one of the greatest Oasis songs of all time.
So good.
I agree, this is one of my favorite Oasis songs
I love everything about this song. The lyrics are superb, the chords I love and this is some of the best drumming of Tony. Too many Oasis song were wasted by being on B-sides. Thank god The Masterplan was released, otherwise songs like Fade Away, Listen Up, Talk Tonight, Headshrinker, Rockin Chair (the list goes on) wouldn't be nearly as known.
Adam Andrews I agree. I rate the Master plan album right up there
Yeah. George Michael was a genius m8
amen brotoasis b sides are the best lol
it's also the most punk
the first drummer dictates it thought
As Noel Gallagher said: "we write songs, not B sides".
1. Slide away
2. Don't go away
3. Fade away
4. Half the world away
5. Take me away
6. You've got to hide your love away (Beatles cover)
Victor Almeida all the "aways" are some of the best
My interpretation of this is that despite all the wild fantasies we have as children about being astronauts and inventors and changing the world, they all fade away as we grow up to realise that we're just a normal part of society.
"We only get what we settle for" though
Every song, you listen too, is your crossword puzzle.
Art is a very subjective thing.
Alright Columbo.
Not me crying to this comment
I'm Russian, i don't know about what he sings, but the melody and voise explodes my brain.
While we're living, the dreams we had as children fade away.
@@onlyinmiles9195 he understands a bit from what he wrote genius :)
Здорова, епта, чувачок
this is worth learning the whole english language for
When I was young
I thought I had my own key
I knew exactly
What I wanted to be
Now I'm sure
You've boarded up every door
Lived in a bubble
Days were never ending
Was not concerned
About what life was sending
Fantasy was real
Now I know much about the way I feel
I'll paint you the picture
'Cause I don't think
You live round here no more
I've never even seen
The key to the door
We only get what we will settle for
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away away away
They fade away away away
Now my life has turned
Another corner
I think it's only best
That I should warn you
Dream it while you can
Maybe someday I'll make you understand
I'll paint you the picture
'Cause I don't think
You live round here no more
I've never even seen
The key to the door
We only get what we will settle for
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children fade away away away
They fade away away away
They fade away away away
Fade away away away
Fucking Tune!!!! No band as came close to Oasis in past twenty odd years. Liam's a legend, one of best singers/frontmen since Freddie mercury.
''Twenty odd years''. Is that a reference to John Lennon and his song Working Class Hero?
Lol no I didn't mean it that way I just meant they were for me personaly the band I loved growing up in the 90's. Nobody came close to them my opinion though
Crawford Baptie Haha sorry, I only asked because John Lennon used the very same phrase in his music, and Oasis fans generally are Beatles fans too and vice -versa(at least I am), so I thought it was a refference.
I love them so much it's unbelievable
I love them more! I need my hourly fix
I have the 2 " Benson + Hedges " style box set's, silver and gold with 5 disc's in each with all the B-sides, 20 yrs later and im you tubing the same songs ! Timeless classics never get old
thee jambo o
Tony McCarroll nailed this one. Fair play to the lad
The Pete Best of Oasis...
This song is fucking brilliant. Just heard it for the first time.
Out of all Oasis songs, I think this is my favourite; not sure though.
Slide away, aquience or champagne supernova
Adam Andrews I hope, I think I know is one of the best to me, Do'yer wanna be a spaceman and some live versions of slide away. Love Oasis.
Bring it on down
I really think this track is incredibly underrated! I love it, to be honest everyone's child hood dreams 'Fade Away' aha
Oasis the best band there ever was is and ever will be
Better than The Beatles?
+Neil Carroll yes.
Irrefutable fact, they changed my life NOT a single day passes without Me soaking in the gift of they're music... ABSOLUTELY MAD FER IT AS FK!!! ( from america)
Oasis is like an endless rollercoaster, you just find and find more epic songs from them
Omg it's you!!!
Ain’t heard this one☝️in like over 20 yrs. Itz still the bollocks!!!!
One of the most underrated Oasis songs.
A very rare heavy Oasis song. He's played the drums like those of grunge bands like Dave Grohl, just smashes the cymbals like a bitch spank. This truly defines the 90's grungy era
Lulen Luwang Definitely wouldn't call the song heavy, just the drums are a lot more interesting than most Oasis songs. Absolutely love this song.
The heaviest in my opinion, is Headshrinker. Tune mate
Oasis songs are timeless!
Not to say tuneless...
underrated!!
This was the best Oasis song in 1994 and it’s still their best work. Absolute epic.
"Fuckin' rockn roll. fuckin fuckers fuck fuck..fuck yea" -Liam Gallagher
oh man....this takes me back to the goold old days...
1. Slide Away
2. Fade Away
3. Live Forever
4. The Hindu Times
5. Colombia
Cool list. Mine would be quite similar but definitely include "shock of the lightning". I think that one although more modern has the proper oasis vibe to it. Mad fer it.

one of the many great Oasis B-sides!
The changes...come on. Its unfortunate we don't have this anymore.
used to listen to this song when i was a kid, amusing to find it basically explains my life haha
looking back the childhood time, the dream exactly fade away,
Fantastic song
This song was prescribed for me to cure my depression.
It works.
Weird, my GP also prescribed this song..

while we're livin the dreams we have as children fade away!!! Genius
I remember hearing this first on a free 'tape' with VOX mag and thought brilliant and still is
Amazing mate i had still got
The biggest and only mistake oasis ever made was getting rid of tony mccarroll. Definitely maybe was the best album they ever had. Doesn't sound the same without him
mary munding he couldn't play consistently for his fucking life man
After getting stuff right on studio, sure
Alan white is WAY better than him, sorry but that's the truth
Arlenea Yeah, because Oasis was all about being technically proficient musicians like the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Tony put pure passion into his drumming but Alan sounds really artificial
Spot on - the first line says it all.
Another Oasis B side that is better than most A sides that get churned out these days. There has never been or will ever be a better band than Oasis.....FACT!
James*, the cure, joy division, mondays, all better.
the dress sense of these lads...ages them 20 years to the beatles era just in colour. You think they had that in mind back when they were dressing like this? Genius in my eyes
one of the most underrated songs of all time
Probably my favourite Oasis song ever, just ahead of Cast no Shadow. If only it was those days again now!

Amazing.
The Best Liam Vocal Performance
"While we living, the dreams we have as children fade away"
If Noels dream was to become a respected musician, he is a funny guy thinking that he makes his dreams come true by telling others their dreams are fading away. :)
I love this song! :D
Do you still though?
Funny, a song about nostalgia is literally like a time machine for me...
Intro sounds like the sex pistols it's fucking mega
Les rêves que nous faisions enfants ont disparu alors que nous sommes toujours de ce monde.
Great song.
@jeyson2203 I have The Masterplan CD on my radio hard drive & as soon as the gentle & actually emotional song of Going Nowhere bringing back memories, the 5th track came on & on this occasion I forgot about the listing & didn't think that Fade Away was coming up. It sounds like PRETTY VACANT INTRO by the Sex Pistols & FREEDOM the whole tune by WHAM. Noel Galagher is a master of innovating music covers, mostly Beatles
