    Thanks for this and the code! After initial success with the Trigorilla board, for some reason I had difficulty getting the CNC shield to work with other examples.

    is it possible to use the CNC shield V3 with both arduino UNO and Arduino UNO Rev3?

      @WilliamLWeaver  2 месяца назад

      Google Gemini Advanced says Yes, absolutely! A CNC shield designed for the Arduino Uno will typically work seamlessly with the Arduino Uno Rev3. Here's why:
      * **Pin Compatibility:** The Arduino Uno and Uno Rev3 share the same pin configuration and electrical characteristics. This means shields designed for one will fit and function correctly on the other.
      * **Standard Headers:** CNC shields and Arduino boards use standard header pins, ensuring a reliable physical and electrical connection.
      * **Software Compatibility:** The Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) treats both the Uno and Uno Rev3 essentially the same way. Any code written for a CNC shield on an Uno will also work on an Uno Rev3.
      **Key Points to Remember:**
      * **Shield Version:** Make sure the CNC shield is compatible with the version of GRBL you intend to use. GRBL is the software that controls the CNC machine.
      * **Power Requirements:** CNC shields and stepper motors may require more power than the Arduino can provide through its USB connection. You might need an external power supply, especially if you're driving larger motors.
      * **Driver Modules:** CNC shields often require separate stepper motor driver modules (like the A4988). Ensure these are correctly installed and configured.
      **In Summary:** You can confidently use a CNC shield designed for the Arduino Uno with your Arduino Uno Rev3. Just double-check the shield's documentation and power requirements to ensure smooth operation.
      **Additional Tips:**
      * **Cooling:** Stepper motor drivers can get hot, especially under heavy load. Consider adding heatsinks to the drivers to prevent overheating.
      * **Wiring:** Pay close attention to the wiring instructions for your CNC shield and stepper motors. Incorrect wiring can damage your components.
      * **Community Support:** The Arduino community is vast and helpful. If you encounter any problems, online forums and resources can be invaluable.
      I hope this information is helpful! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

    Hola, se puede armar una impresora 3D con este kit?

    • @WilliamLWeaver
      @WilliamLWeaver  5 месяцев назад

      ¡Sí! Este kit está disponible en Amazon "Kit de controlador CNC para impresora 3D Arduino CNC con ArduinoIDE, placa de protección CNC GRBL Longruner + interruptor mecánico RAMPS 1.4, tope final DRV8825, controlador de motor paso a paso A4988, motor paso a paso Nema17 LKB02, negro". Tiene cuatro controladores de motor para los motores X, Y, Z y del extrusor que puedes usar para construir tu propia impresora 3D. ¡Es increíble! =]

      @@WilliamLWeaver gracias por responder. Tengo entendido que le faltan conexiones para poder conectar el hotend y el termistor , pero bueno no encuentro nada sobre el tema en internet

      Encontré este video en RUclips que muestra cómo incorporar motores paso a paso en una impresora 3D. Espero que te sea útil. Utilicé el kit de motor paso a paso y el protector CNC para un proyecto que necesitaba movimiento y no los usé para reparar o construir una impresora 3D. ¡Espero que este video te sea útil! ruclips.net/video/qub5chyIQ0s/видео.htmlsi=vqlWTJCpX2TNfV55

    I honestly can't see the point of this video, it explains nothing.

      Not a tutorial. Just "Proof of Life" that it works. I use it to explain the setup to students and colleagues.

      On the contrary it has all the wiring, stepper driver orientation (which is different to mine, but something to keep in mind in future), proof that it functions and more importantly working code. I was not able to find working test code until I found this video.

    Being a two years of experience person, please don't use grbl based control boards, it gets random stop problem which is highly irritating and time wasting problem in grbl based cnc, even after upgrading the stepper driver to bt6600, still problem exist, I've done all the solutiona, but problem persist, which no one discusses on online platforms, it will blow your mind while cutting by stopping randomly on the job!

      Thanks for the comment @moinshaikh6684 I have been using these control boards that are attached to four stepper motors each for two systems. It is a continuous motion system that moves 3D printed sample holders in a specific pattern while submerged into a tank. All eight motors have been running continuously (24/7 except for sample changes) for the past 10 months. I'm thankful that we have not suffered from the random stop problem you describe. Best of luck!
