This was so much fun! I love all of these boxes. You have the most extraordinary collection of tiny perfect and beautiful treasures! Those people at the exhibition will be very lucky indeed to see all of your gorgeous room boxes!
Thank you so much Jen! I must say it was very busy at my tables. People seemed to love everything and were very interested. I may have recruited a few new miniaturists 😉
Such a treat to see some of your collection up close, the folks at this exhibition are so lucky. I love how the curated boxes are unique but work in harmony as a set, that’s your eye for colour and interiors. You truly have one of the finest collections of miniatures made by talented crafts people, yourself included. Thank you for making this accessible and sharing with enthusiasts who cannot afford or are unable to collect themselves. Your vlogs are a delight and I love to watch and learn. Thank you ❤❤❤
My pleasure Wendy! That is so nice of you. I am happy to share my collection this way with you, the RUclips viewers and the exhibition visitors. I think they enjoyed it too! 😃
My goodness, the wonderful things you have to share with us! Thank you so much! So glad we got to sell all the boxes...each one as beautiful and creative as the next.
such beautiful beautiful pieces you have!!! And so miraculously detailed (like those WORKING clothes pegs!! My word!). I love the little cat in the basket - I almost expected you to have a fish on the table or drying on the rope above, that she would be staring at, ready to steal and hide somewhere! I think my favourite roomboxes were the pink sewing room and the blue 17th-century inspired one: the oysters and the glass goblet (with typical 17th-century prunts!! amazing!) are gorgeous, and the painting (looks like a Vermeer, but close up and backwards - who did you say it was by?) is wonderful! I bet the visitors to the show will be delighted to have a closer look at all these treasures! Kindest regards, k
Oh those clothes pegs...those are amazing! I think they came from Dieter Dorsch in Germany. Great idea to have the cat staring at some fish 😂 Yes, many people seemed to like those two roomboxes. The oil painting is by Jaap Wijtenburg. He paints original paintings, mostly in the style of 17th-century masters. He's really good. I love his work. 😃
A beautiful lesson. I really enjoyed learning from your creative process. All the rooms are just so well-crafted. The 37 minutes flew by! Thank you for taking the time to post!
Very much enjoyed this one. I am working on a small room box in the 1:144 scale. Your video gave the the thought of putting a tapestry on the wall instead of wallpaper.
I love this video. It's so interesting to follow your thoughts about what goes where and why, and you have so many lovely miniatures. What a lot of work, though, for such a short exebition i'm very impressed 😊
Thank you so much! Yes it was a bit of work, but the visitors really seemed to enjoy it. And I maybe even inspired some people to start making miniatures 😃
I love the sewing and knitting. Its such a lost art. Its also very historically revelant in minatures. Thank you again Josje. 💓 Oh my, I absolutely love those socks. What a piece of art history.
My pleasure Tara. I think sewing and knitting, especially here in the northern part of Europe, has been making a huge comeback. Much helped by RUclips I believe. I follow a few sewing channels of people who use old sewing techniques and research and create historical clothing. I've always found it fascinating. 😃
Thank you Beverly! My friend, who came to see the show, said the same thing about the baskets. I like it too. Simple but effective. A while ago I saw a 'basket tree' on Pinterest I believe. Also really nice! I intend to make one of those one day. 😃
Alison Davies has some incredible wallpaper this year. You can also download. But her finished wallpaper I ordered is better than any other. Susan Bembridge has amazing wallpapers. But I really appreciate the print quality of Alison. She prints on a very high resolution and looks very realistic. Something about the ink she uses.
Hello Josje, I can't choose a favourite they are all beautiful, but I do really like the small one with the table with the food. you have some beautiful pieces, what will you do with them after the exhibition ? They would make lovely temporary seasonal display boxes, or a way to display some of your miniature stash . Have a lovely weekend. Best Wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊
Hi Diane, that small one was also popular at the show today. Most of the pieces live in my dolls' houses normally and I just put them in the display boxes so I could bring them to the show. I'll probably keep them in the boxes for a few months and display them like that before I put them back. They are nice boxes for temporary displays. It will be very nice to display some of my miniature stash that hasn't found a home yet! Especially since they have glass fronts, that will keep everything safe and clean. 😃
Hi Dorothy! Thank you 😃 I was late publishing as I was at the show and I forgot. But I immediately thought of you as you are always one of the first to comment. I thought you might be waiting for the vlog, haha! 😃
Thank you Russel! It was popular at the show as well. I have been collecting for about 21 years. Are you referring to the date on Alan McKirdy's table, 1996? That is a piece I bought from another collection. I wasn't collecting then yet. 😃
Thank you for letting us into your exquisite miniature world 😊
My pleasure 😊

@@MakeMiniatures I’m sure that they were very interested! You were probably the highlight of the whole event!
Well, I wouldn't say that, but I had a busy afternoon. 😃

@@MakeMiniaturesI thought this lovely little painting felt like a mirror in this space, and we were eavesdropping on a private moment, lol.❤❤❤
@@PaintpalSue Oh, I love that! And the eavesdropping on a private moment is spot on, as that is part of the intention of this painting I think. 😃
Thank you Josje, enjoyed this so much. J
Thank you Janine. Glad you enjoyed it 😃
It's all so beautiful..I love the way the baskets hang... loved every minute..❤❤❤

Every video of yours is so calming, inspiring and a treasure for the eyes and heart.
Thank you for creating these for us! ❤ Kathleen, USA
My pleasure Kathleen! Thank you 😃
What a wonderful opportunity to admire your special pieces in a new setting, albeit temporarily. Lucky viewers at the exhibition👏
Many thanks Coby! I think the visitors enjoyed it. 😃

Wonderful Heather, thank you!
I love the marquetry work on the table. Inlay wood work is wonderful.
I agree! It's so beautifully done. I love that little table. 😃
This might be one of my favorites - the variety made it so rich.
Thank you Melissa! 😃

Thank you! 😃
I took a class from Pete and Pam Boorum in Chicago in April!
That must have been good! I found them to be excellent teachers. 😃
I liked box #3 the best. How long have you been collecting?
Thank you Russel! It was popular at the show as well. I have been collecting for about 21 years. Are you referring to the date on Alan McKirdy's table, 1996? That is a piece I bought from another collection. I wasn't collecting then yet. 😃
Pots of flowers somewhere???
I did bring a few pots of flowers out of storage, but they didn't fit into the scenes. Next time! 😉
I noticed you didn't add baseboards? Any thoughts or reasons?
You mean in these display boxes? Well, I didn't have much time and they are just temporary display boxes so I didn't bother. 😃
@@MakeMiniatures ah, makes perfect sense! I love watching your videos. Thank you!
My pleasure! 😃
