I too, had a friend named Helen that passed last July, Last year she had given me a lot of her lovely old pots that i am so grateful to have. After she passed her husband gave me the Boson Fern she and i always loved. I take very good care of Helen. Your garden is wonderful! Thank you for making it!!!!
Hi Shirley, I am sorry to hear about your friend. It is nice to have something of theirs to remember them by and to know they're always with you in the garden. I hope your pots will soon be full of beautiful flowers
Hi Jeannie, thank you for watching, it's fun learning how to make these videos, content is a little thin on the ground at the moment but as you say everything is beginning to burst back into life, in just a few weeks it will all look so different!
This is such a beautiful garden Justin. We have seen it on photographs over so many years of knowing you and now to finally see it on video, is truly a special gift. Keep up the amazing work with your videos and with your gardening. Its beautiful 🙂😀 I love Rusty the Peacock 🦚 😍
Just when you think you've seen all the beautiful garden videos...there you were. Happy to discover your fabulous garden and cant wait to see more. Cheers from my California garden.
Hello Cynthia, thank you for your lovely words, it means a lot that people are enjoying my channel! I have put a few videos on since then so you're welcome to watch those too :-)
I am amazed at how you take things that are already beautiful and make them even more beautiful. I'm convinced your eyes show you things that most of us don't see. I am so grateful for your videos and the chance to see what you see. BTW...it's already hot here in Florida in the USA.
Hi Jim, I hope you are not too hot, it is quite nice here only 10c/50f but the sun is warm so it feels much nicer, and if you're working hard outside you soon keep warm. I certainly have a creative mind and I think that lends itself to seeing the detail before everything else, so I guess that is a gift - either that or I usually wear glasses but they reflect too much on the camera!! Thank you for watching and your nice comments :-)
This is a beautiful video! The garden you present, the story you tell, and the music you choose make my eyes tear up! It’s beyond the beauty of the garden itself! I feel the soul of it. ❤
Thank you, it's a living garden full of memories and future memories to be made. That's what I love about gardening. So nice of you to comment and watch my videos!
Just discovered your channel Justin and loving it - it's great to see both gardens but I especially love your 'little' garden (bigger than mine!). I am looking forward to catching up with previous videos and crossing my fingers for lots of new ones. Thanks so much for posting. Take care.
Hi Suzanne, I always thought of it as little, but a lot of new houses now have really tiny spaces, but you can still make them equally if not more beautiful. I should be posting more of the other garden, acre and a half so it really is a different style of gardening! Keep an eye out for the next update, plenty going on at the moment :-)
What a beautiful oasis you have created! I love that you have provided so many homes for the mason bee's. I am looking forward to seeing the Wisteria in bloom. What an amazing trunk structure. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Erlinda, it is quite wet here most of the time so everything grows very well, I imagine it is very difficult gardening in Texas. I do have a friend there who tries really hard to create the cottage garden look and he does very well.
As soon as I found your channel I knew I would be a regular 🥰. Your voice is so calm and peaceful and much needed in this crazy world. Your garden Is truly beautiful with the classical statues and secret areas….so pretty. I also like how you don’t chatter on throughout the entire video but share special stories ( ie: your friend Barbara). Thanks for these lovely videos. 🥰 Grace from Ohio,U.S.
Thanks Grace, I had hoped to reply earlier but the garden has been taking all my attention! I'm so pleased you like my videos and all the friends who reside in the garden!
This was such a delight. Thank you for telling us about the plants and introducing us to the ladies in your garden. I liked seeing the garden a bit bare, as I was able to see the different layers and levels you use for planting. The music was lovely as well. Looking forward to seeing the garden fill out as the season progresses.
I was thinking it looked a bit bare but this time of year does show all the corners you might not see in the summer. It will soon be green and the borders full again, the Old Manor House gardens are going to look spectacular soon so hoping I can post about that. Thanks for watching and your kind comments :-)
Hello Patrick, thank you for watching my video, there will be more to come and I'm looking forward to sharing the garden as it grows and becomes even more of an oasis!
Wow, it's very beautiful. All plants are beautifully arranged. I feel it's like a heaven at home.very peaceful and very eco-friendly. Love ur garden and gardening ideas. Greetings from India.
Hi Ajit thank you for watching my video, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. I have just subscribed to you it looks like you have some wonderful videos to watch. I hope to visit India again one day!
An utterly charming garden. I love the urn and Ruth, she certaintly was worth £25. Please keep your videos coming as I want to see it flourish from spring to summer. Thank you.
Thanks Norma, she is a lovely addition to the garden, I must have known her for over 20 years. It will soon be coming back to life and in late May I plant it for the summer. 😊
Justin your Spring garden is wonderful and I love the ladies in your garden. You have so many unusual and beautiful violas. We have a hard time getting the more unusual ones here. I’m envious of your greenhouse. I am going to give you a shoutout on one of my videos on my channel which isn’t a garden video but a haul and gift video. We just celebrated my husband John’s 80th birthday. I will be doing a garden video soon. Happy gardening❤️❤️❤️
Hi Jean, I'm sorry I took so long to reply to your comment. I hope your husband had a happy birthday, that's a great age to achieve! I bought another viola the other day (native type), we are fortunate the garden centres here have a brilliant choice of them. You know that greenhouse still isn't big enough for all my plants! Happy gardening too!
Your small garden is so quaint! I love small spaces, and yours is simply sweet. It's a great example of what we can do with a small garden. You've given me some great ideas! Love your garden friends. Also, the walled garden is lovely.
Hi Anna, I like to make the most of every space in the garden so it's nice and full of interest. I hope you can re-create some of the ideas and make them fit into your space. The walled garden should be making an appearance soon, it's starting to look lovely (when it's not raining!)
Hi Gayle, thank you for your nice comments, I was always told I needed to 'speak up' when I was younger but then I learned that was to make other people happy and not myself, so I stayed quiet and very happy that way, it has paid off :-)
From now on we should say "see how it grows!" Instead of "see how it goes"!!!thank you for offering us this video💕🌸🌼🪴💖🌺🌹🌻have you grown snapdragons from seeds before?they are so tiny....trying them for the first time this year.I do love the way the fluffy bumblebees get right into those flowers to get a good feed!!such a gorgeous sight!!
I like that, can I borrow it?!! I did last year, a variety called Night and Day, they were beautiful and another variety called Madame Butteryfly Cherry Bronze, stunning flowers! It's so funny watching the bees going in and out!
This was really nice to hear your stories & thank you for putting some flower names on screen. Did I see a pond or a water feature too? Wasn’t sure. Lovely garden!
I have made some more videos today at the old manor house so that will be exciting to share. Yes there is a pond which needs some attention, and a water feature as well - lots of things to drown out background noise and focus the mind in the garden. Glad you liked it! 😊
Hi Justin, I have a new place and I also have to get my lawn back. Would you please do a video showing the steps, what gets put down first, when to water, and when to make the first cut? I love your garden!
Hi, late reply but I will do a little video about it or with it in, I have to sort my lawn out in a few days. Everything is growing so fast I can't keep up!
I love your garden, I’m very keen on hellebore do you take your leaves off.? The pulmonaria we call it soldiers and sailors because it flowers blue and red.xx🐝🐝
Hi Linda, I do if they are looking weather beaten, and when I see the new leaves coming up I chop them all off so it looks nice and tidy. I love Pulmonarias, you're right about the colours! I have a new one called Blue Ensign, its quite different to the others.
Hello, I'm from Trinidad in d Caribbean. How long did it take to create your garden. I know it would b some years. I am now starting so d yard looks a mess at d moment. I hope it will look like yours ones day. Simply beautiful.
Hello Justin, What a lovely garden you have you are very creative !! Justin can I ask if you could turn down the background music to your videos in some places I could not hear what you were saying many thanks. What size is your garden? I have a small garden and am trying to get ideas for trees with non-invasive roots or large shrubs for the boundary fence to block houses from view. I hope to get lots of ideas from your channel as I have now subscribed.
Hi Joanna, thank you I'm really excited you like my garden and the video. I will take note about the music, with it being the first video I wasn't sure how it would sound, I am quietly spoken most of the time so I will be a bit clearer on the next video. The garden at home is quite small, and I have a few plants/shrubs for the same purpose that don't mind being 'pruned' or chopped but I think the varieties of plants might be different depending where you are in the world. Plenty more ideas coming soon, and from the Old Manor House which has a huge garden!
I made it from pieces of tanalised wood and fastened chicken wire to them, they are quite old now so I am going to have to make some new ones otherwise like you our fish would all get eaten! Herons catch ours.
You might have to search for it nearby, there is another one called silver laced which I have but it isn't flowering yet. I had a look to see if you could buy seeds but I think it's easier to get the plant, do you have online places in the US where you could look for one? Once you have them they are easy to divide and create more plants .
