The VO on the merc leader is terrible :p. It sounds hollow and echoes like he is talking into a tiny box. Contrasted with Baranor, it's like they aren't even on the same planet.
You should totally make an Orc expansion, where we'd play as an uruk. Gang up abilities, sending minions into their deaths to gain advantage, torturing humans to learn information on our enemies, uruk rivalries. Upon defeat, we'd gain scars that would be implemented into gameplay, like a claw hand would give some strengths and some weaknesses. Upon death, we'd play as another uruk, ready to gather the scattered forces of his predecessor. We'd need to prove our strength to gain allies, who'd only follow us until a stronger one came.
Alternative Idea. Ratbag and Forthog, After Return of the King, Gather up what's left of Sauron's Forces to build a new nation and try and keep them in line so they don't all get massacred out of existance. Forcing reforms to try and.......reform them.
Don't care if people think that this DLC is not too Mordor-ish. It isn't, but it still looks hella good. Also props for the really good voice acting. Especially for the leader of those mercenaries.
I've already seen some people arguing that it's not Shadow of Mordor anymore and that it's strange not having a character with magic and godlike powers. Whining community i say.
I think nobody would be too dumb to think it's a AC:Origins DLC if they weren't trolling. There is a character from the base game who's been seen multiple times when playing as Talion through the main questline. Also there is orcs so someone with absolutely no knowledge and low IQ would still guess it's a completely different game.
Minas ithil has fallen... sometime ago i believe. Random guy: this text written by Tolkien the Lore Master says it fell 1000 years ago! Baranor: 0_0 Jokes aside, i will be waiting to play this DLC.
I would have actually preferred if the entire game series was set around this time period, ditching Gollum who wasn't even born back then, of course also altering the beginning, for example instead of the Black Gate being where Talion was stationed, make him one of the garrison of Cirith Ungol, and as we know: "As with Narchost and Carchost, the Towers of the Teeth, so here too the vigilance had failed, and treachery had yielded up the Tower to the Lord of the Ringwraiths." Then we could have entire subplot about hunting down the traitor who was directly responsible for death of the garrison and Talion's family. Of course the specific time period feel should have to be build, the siege and fall of Minas Ithil is the reign of king Earnil II, just about 20 years before Witch-king returned to Mordor from his defeat at Angmar (and Earnur, king's son took part in it) in year 1980 T.A. (which is curiously also the year when Balrog is unleashed in Moria), other Nazgul were gathered already centuries earlier, but all other strongholds of the watch over Mordor were abandoned after the Great Plague, 360 years earlier than the Minas Ithil siege started. "1980: The Witch-king comes to Mordor and there gathers the Nazgûl." The Return of the King, LoTR Appendix B, The Tale of Years: The Third Age "It was thus in the reign of King Eärnil, as later became clear, that the Witch-king escaping from the North came to Mordor, and there gathered the other Ringwraiths, of whom he was the chief." The Return of the King, LoTR Appendix A, Annals of the Kings and Rulers: The Realms in Exile: The Southern Line: Heirs of Anárion "Atanatar Alcarin son of Hyarmendacil lived in great splendour, so that men said precious stones are pebbles in Gondor for children to play with. The waning of Gondor had already begun before he died, and was doubtless observed by its enemies. The watch upon Mordor was neglected. ... The second and greatest evil came upon Gondor in the reign of Telemnar, the twenty-sixth king, whose father Minardil, son of Eldacar, was slain at Pelargir by the Corsairs of Umbar. Soon after a deadly plague came with dark winds out of the East The King and all his children died, and great numbers of the people of Gondor, especially those that lived in Osgiliath. Then for weariness and fewness of men the watch on the borders of Mordor ceased and the fortresses that guarded the passes were unmanned." Return of the King Appendix A: "Annals of the Kings and Rulers" I The Númenorean Kings (iv) Gondor and the Heirs of Anárion ... "The third evil was the invasion of the Wainriders, which sapped the waning strength of Gondor in wars that lasted for almost a hundred years. The Wainriders were a people, or a confederacy of many peoples, that came from the East; but they were stronger and better armed than any that had appeared before. They journeyed in great wains, and their chieftains fought in chariots. Stirred up, as was afterwards seen, by the emissaries of Sauron, they made a sudden assault upon Gondor, and King Narmacil II was slain in battle with them beyond Anduin in 1856. I know a lot of people dislike the gondorians, but I love Baranor in this game. He had some alright character exploration and now we get to see it develop here in Desolation of Mordor
Victor Burhoi some say they're mostly bland and one dimensional. I see where they're coming from, but I still love Baranor since he's most interesting XD
I think this xpac will be good because he’s really similar to Talion. He works better when interacting with interesting characters, so he’ll make for a great protagonist.
I was expecting the black character to feel forced and not really flushed out, in a LOTR story. But I actually really enjoy Baranor's character and look forward to this expansion.
he is from the south, he probably knows they fight and will continue to fight for sauron. these guys are mercenaries so at least he can have some room to negotiate with him
Nathaniel Claw, exactly from the south wouldn't have much information on the men of the east. Though it seems coin defeats all loyalties for these guys.
Serka/Jigai/Bro-anor's voice sounds SO familiar, but I can't quite place it. I love it, though, and can't wait for next Tuesday. Between Brigitte in Overwatch and Baranor in SoW:DoM, there's going to be a lot of shield-bashing in my immediate future! XD
Did they record the brothers' lines in a metal tube? Sounds terrible and echo-ey. If they wanna say it's because of the room they're in then sure, but then why doesn't Baranor echo? Also how did he not realize it was his brother sooner lmao, had to get two obvious hints and he still had to think about it.
Big room but only the brothers' audio sounds kinda gargly and echo-ey, Baranor sounds stellar and crisp as usual. And I meant moreso how he alluded to remembering a young boy, and then the caragors, and Barry was like "Caragors? Hmmmmmmmmmmm..................................................OMG MY BROTHER!"
Looks interesting. This is a very good game, plagued by micro transactions and loot boxes. If it had none of these from the beginning it would have been a strong candidate for game of the year.
I bought this game thinking it would be awesome. Now it just seems like a bunch of developers got together to create an overpriced meme. What even is his voice? 0:25
Rayclaw Icefire lies!! Do not name the month I was born on like that!! And if that were true, you are apart of a small group that knows of its existence, and I do hope the very same group in the future will vanish
Everything about this DLC looks great, I'm absolutely hyped for it! My only hope is that the storyline is a LOT longer than the Blade of Galadriel's: that shit was too short for my liking. EDIT: I didn't quite hear what Baranor's brother had said at 0:14, if anyone could tell me I would be very grateful.
Baranor: "I'm planning to take Shindrâm..." Merc leader: "...Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?" Alas, the voice actor is apparently not Michael Mando.
Hey guys little tip. If you’re going to cast an American for the role of a British sounding person. Make sure he can keep an accent for more than like, 2 seconds
Im weirded out about how he doesn't say that he was working with a dead guy who he could probably see thousands of orcs coming out of a stadium in a burst of light a few hours after he saw him later
would you believe him? baranor: you know the Black Gate? that one place that fell even before minas ithil? so, there is a undead ranger that came from there, sometimes he looks human, sometimes he looks like an elf, he uses a ghost bow, explode fire, ice and poison with his hands, he can control the mind of orcs and calls himself "the bright lord". also he says he can talk to celebrimbor, dead before the last alliance war.
While I still really would much prefer an expansion as an Orc, Nazgul or Black Captain, this looks promising. Especially as I love Easterlings and we rarely get to see this kind of "lore" relating to Middle Earth. I'm hoping for a little less stealth and assassination in this dlc as I'm kind of over that with Talion (RIP) and Elf bitch who's name escapes me.
Even after all these months you guys still manage t write a good twist. I can't wait for Jarred to play it while I wait for the complete edition of the game
So I killed my nemesis in the arena mission but when I return to minus morgul he doesn't ambush me. So how do I get him to cheat death? Someone pls help me, I really want to recruit him:(

The Blade of Galadriel was bad in all and this one still bad but almost this dlc is funny. Baranor is a Fucking Robocop and his design remember me to the Character of Berserk. You see those warriors from Hammerfell? They’ve got curved swords. Curved. Swords.
0:25 Well I wasn't expecting that voice to come from him. Lol
OctoberHourglass Same.
Ikr its cah
OctoberHourglass exactly no blk man sounds like that lol
The VO on the merc leader is terrible :p. It sounds hollow and echoes like he is talking into a tiny box. Contrasted with Baranor, it's like they aren't even on the same planet.
did the bald guy win a contest to be in a video game or something? sounds like an 18 year old white guy recording on a consumer microphone.
You should totally make an Orc expansion, where we'd play as an uruk. Or how about we play as Sauron? Nice Idea though:)
Or play as Ratbag and Ranger.
Ratbag is best character.
This is a good idea but it’ll probably never happen
Alternative Idea.
Ratbag and Forthog, After Return of the King, Gather up what's left of Sauron's Forces to build a new nation and try and keep them in line so they don't all get massacred out of existance.
Forcing reforms to try and.......reform them.
Brilliant idea.
Don't care if people think that this DLC is not too Mordor-ish.
It isn't, but it still looks hella good.
Also props for the really good voice acting. Especially for the leader of those mercenaries.
Rundurino I don't care...why? Because its better...many fans wanted to fight alongside men! Look, now it will be true
Yeah also they brought MANY new things and features. No Talion reskins or anything like that, actual new original gameplay
I've already seen some people arguing that it's not Shadow of Mordor anymore and that it's strange not having a character with magic and godlike powers.
Whining community i say.
If there wasn’t a title I wonder how many people would think this is an assassins creed origins dlc
Baranor: 0_0
Jokes aside, i will be waiting to play this DLC.
Nathaniel Claw You have to remember, this story takes place around TA 2002, a LONG time before the War of the Ring
Wolfgang Rutherford some decades actually
50 years before the War of the Ring
that's abit harsh
I would have actually preferred if the entire game series was set around this time period, ditching Gollum who wasn't even born back then, of course also altering the beginning, for example instead of the Black Gate being where Talion was stationed, make him one of the garrison of Cirith Ungol, and as we know:

The Nethral King Why the would anyone dislike the gondorians?
Victor Burhoi some say they're mostly bland and one dimensional. I see where they're coming from, but I still love Baranor since he's most interesting XD
The Nethral King he isnt gondorian, he is from the lands in the south
I think this xpac will be good because he’s really similar to Talion. He works better when interacting with interesting characters, so he’ll make for a great protagonist.
Remco Assink splitting hairs really
Desolation of Mordor is available this upcoming Tuesday, May 8th, 2018!
Shadow of War I can’t fucking wait I have already bought it
Next shadow game i wanna play as an uruk. Fully customosable
*gimli voice*
YES!
Shadow of War why is there a baranor expansion but not idril
Superslash my orc would be such a fat turd.
All you had to do was hire the damn mercenaries, CJ!
Good but we need an open world game like the witcher 3 or skyrim where you can explore all of middle earth, just saying
Lord of the Rings Online
twistedmetalplayer21 would be amazing with todays grafics and character interactions!
Graphics*
Liam Samuels I agree with you on that but Monolith has no experience in creating in-depth RPG's.
Eric Nick Let's make it in Unreal Engine 4
I loved getting to know the Men of the East always wanted to know what they were like. Also they look so freaking cool with their armor and weaponry
So this is wakanda in ancient times
More like AC Origins in Fantasy times.
srbnsn Which, after Curse of the Pharaohs, is just AC Origins.
Make talion a stallion
With the way their going, it could very well be the Ultra 1000% completion hidden ending
Gleebroyable neigh
I was expecting the black character to feel forced and not really flushed out, in a LOTR story. But I actually really enjoy Baranor's character and look forward to this expansion.
Oh no. They're Easterlings. Poor Baranor has no idea for what is to come eventually.
he is from the south, he probably knows they fight and will continue to fight for sauron. these guys are mercenaries so at least he can have some room to negotiate with him
Nathaniel Claw, exactly from the south wouldn't have much information on the men of the east. Though it seems coin defeats all loyalties for these guys.
mercenaries of course. but the leader is baranor older brother, so that will make things easy
During the War of the ring, weren't there Easterlings who were resisting and fighting Sauron?
they were fighting for sauron. they were the guys that frodo and sam saw entering the black gate
This dlc is going to be amazing
Like the last one was right?
JPG I loved the last one. Short though. . .
That's what gets me, it was way too short for the price theyre charging for their DLC. If this one is the same length I'll be spewing.
Well now that it is out, how long would you say it is?
Cobble Pot Well, it depends on how you play if you are exclusively doing story missions you will play around 2-3 hours
I like him already!
"This one, I like."
-Celebrimbor
still hopin we can go to lithlad with talion i need a new fort
K9vendetta The wolf of mordor we can when the dlc is out, it’s just to the east of seregost.
K9vendetta The wolf of mordor, confined in the latest stream no mercs though.
If you own the DLC, you can go to Lithlad with Talion and take the fortress.
XD
It belongs to that crazy boss from Far Cry 3
Did they record the brothers' lines in a metal tube? Sounds terrible and echo-ey. If they wanna say it's because of the room they're in then sure, but then why doesn't Baranor echo? Also how did he not realize it was his brother sooner lmao, had to get two obvious hints and he still had to think about it.
YEET Big room what do you expect, and separation from a decently young age.
This is sick
Sick in the stomach, maybe
So where’s Idril in all this?
Awesome Productions I think she will be soon enough in this
Baranor probably went alone to the mercenaries while Idril stayed with the surviving soldiers.
Hopefully dead and buried
Who tf cares about her
TheDarkWut Ok Mr.12 year old boy.
Please ! Please! Can you put 3 GAMES FILES insteans of one file ????
The voice acting is freaking amazing
Looks interesting. This is a very good game, plagued by micro transactions and loot boxes.
If it had none of these from the beginning it would have been a strong candidate for game of the year.
Avi FiBe Wasn't really an issue to begin with.
Yea and it along with origins doesn't harm your experience.
I bought this game thinking it would be awesome. Now it just seems like a bunch of developers got together to create an overpriced meme. What even is his voice? 0:25
bob bobson k
His voice is part of his character. Lol
Finally the Easternlings get a really good spotlight I have always like their armor
looks really promising i really like the story thats coming up here and the voice actor is really good hope itll be a succes
This looks really good
Fascinating
Rayclaw Icefire I am ashamed to know where your profile picture is from
Ilija Kovachevich I see your gentleman of culture as well.
Rayclaw Icefire no... just..... no. Why did you even make that as your profile pic, what thoughts led to such a mistake?
May is Lewd Anime Avatar month no mistakes my good sir.

This sounds like a dubbed over parody
I skipped Blade of Galadriel...But this looks frickin AMAZING!!! Can't wait.
I demand to know more about the Torvin Werewyrm Romance >:(
why does baranor look like the shaved head guy on the throne, i swear they are twins
i should watch the whole video before commenting
Yes you should my friend
Tank lol
And here I was hoping we'd get to play as orcs for once.
So baranor has a brother
Nice to see that Baranor has a brother
Baranor: "I'm planning to take Shindrâm..."
Merc leader: "...Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?"
Alas, the voice actor is apparently not Michael Mando.
Is it me or does the mercenary leader sound like he was recorded with a low quality mic?
Hey guys little tip. If you’re going to cast an American for the role of a British sounding person. Make sure he can keep an accent for more than like, 2 seconds
Watch him get sold out by his brother. We all know Easterlings are mercs and Sauron has unlimited amounts of coin.
apoctriforce easterlings are not mercs. There are fanatics fighting for sauron cause they think he is god
AWESOME!
Please make the next game about Talion again. At least include Celebrimbor
Gabbe The Lord No he's dead.
He's been dead in every game
Monolith said that this would be their last game in the shadow series.
Ian Bailey. Truly sad. And it was just becoming my favorite game series
Gabbe The Lord talion is dead for good. It's gonna be eltariel and celebrimor
0:25 "Meenis Eetheel heas falleen."
bob bobson k
SOOOOO EXCITED!!
I really like this cutscene.
This is gonna be good
There were no black guys in Gondor.
master steeler its not Gondor
Good job it's not Gondor then.
@@michiev he's not even from gondor he is haradrim but his family gave him away to a family in mordor
Is that Donald Glover as Serka? God that voice is so familiar.
Can't wait for this :)
Nathaniel Claw well if i know that sauron exists I'd absolutely believe him
touche
BARANORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR collecting the credit and gathering the Mercenaries
I’ll be getting this, in the goty edition which will ship without mtx
thats amazing
WE WUZ GONDORIANGZ!
WE
That Guy you must love this wonderful futuristic society we live in.
THEY NEED TO PUT THE LOTR SOUNDTRACK IN THE GAME! So...get permission!
Damn finally
Welcome to america and Black panther having a baby
Was this in the game?
Even after all these months you guys still manage t write a good twist. I can't wait for Jarred to play it while I wait for the complete edition of the game
0:27 I'm laughed so hard xd
So I killed my nemesis in the arena mission but when I return to minus morgul he doesn't ambush me. So how do I get him to cheat death? Someone pls help me, I really want to recruit him:(
Thank You!
So they're basically throwing the Second Sons into Middle Earth
primepm but useful.
No that's a different game series.
Awesome
Is it me or are the animations for the mercenary leader in the very beginning super not synced to his voice.
Hell yeah
I NEED THIS!
FORR WAKANDAAAAAAAA
Game of Zones feel.
This is a cinematic? Why do the graphics look like they're from last gen?
Sander Cohen Get some fresh air kid.
Because it’s shadow of war. The graphics look like they pulled the skin from the inside of somebody’s asshole and glued it onto the lens.
Sander Cohen it isnt cinematic, dunno why they wrote that
this is fanfiction tier
not that the base games are much better
Cant wait
BOI!
Hey I have a problem with my game I maxed out all orc followers in gorgoroth army and my fortress was taken so my warchiefs went back to the just captains so some of my captains just disapeared does anyone know how to fix that and get my orcs back because they were the blade of Galadriel unique ones
Aidan Taylor Don't have so many fucking captains
It’s hard I got a lot of cool looking captains in my game and I thought I would just kill a few but it take for fucking ever just to kill one
During the fortress assault there will be a human army ? Nice
Will they even have fort assaults in this DLC? I havent heard.
JPG Baranor said that he want to storm shindram
Is this the last dlc ?
I still don't really understand why Talion and Celebrimbor didn't conquer Lithlad. I guess the DLC will explain.
The devs said something about it not being that important of a place in the grand scheme of conquering and holding mordor.
Ah... ok.
and it kinda is true. this region is basically north africa under roman rule.
The Tark Lord well they will now talion goes to lithlad.
Nathaniel Claw, except North Africa was west romes richest province and fertile this is just desert and killer worms.
I dont even know what this is about
Why is the animation on his mouth so stiff? 1:50 cheesy dramatic zoom only possible in videogames ....
The guy reminds me of brûz hope he wont end up like him tho
oh my....
The Blade of Galadriel was bad in all and this one still bad but almost this dlc is funny. Baranor is a Fucking Robocop and his design remember me to the Character of Berserk. Is stupid how baranor is more strenght than Talion but looks very funny to play.
Anyway I'm excited and waiting for him. I have the season pass already.
FOKING YES
Looks good
Where is Idril?
Bring MDP for the last stream b4 the launch
Why did the beginning sounded the beginning of a porno.
I wonder what book Barranors brother is reading at the start
Finrien Of Devan
'The lusty numenorian maid'
50 shades of Numenor
i wonder what names tolkien would give to porn books on middle earth, i bet he would have some hilarious chices
Oh god, i dont wanna know XD
Is this voice acting a joke?
Pronkman666 It sounds like they got some random ass guy from the programming department and forced him to read these lines into a laptop microphone
Wait Min I thought human Mercenaries can't betray and this guy saying well they can?!?!?!?!? I'm confused
Is this Canon?
Regardless, it's still fun to play.
Plz say there is an arena for merceneries.
I don't think Baranor would force people to kill each other, lol.
Nor do I think the Mercenaries would murder each other on somebody else's orders. These guys aren't dominated like Talion's Orcs.
So wait, is he his brother? I got confused.
That voice acting is on point
Oh look, more orcs.
that moment you realize this is avaliable on the same day as D2's Warmind.
Hmm, I'm not quite sure which I care about more. This game is fucking great, but at the same time I'm kind of bored with it and I want to give bungie one last chance.... so much content, so little time.
Dude i watched LOTR films and none of the gondorians were black not being racist but seriously look through all the cutscenes if you spot one tell me.
They say in game hes not gondorian
I never saw no dark skin vassals either
czerka?
K A N G Z
