---------------------------------------------------------------------
We needed a creative low-cost way to remove the concrete encasement around a night drop box at an old bank. This $180 electric demolition hammer was worth the chance and it turned out to be a lifesaver. The cost was well worth us not swinging a 16-pound sledgehammer for a full day. This is a DIY solution IMHO as we do not know how long this tool will last, although it is still running just fine after us using it for 4 hours straight.
We are not jackhammer experts and our attachments are starting to look worn. I believe we can take a grinder to them and make them like new, but that may not be true. If we had to buy new attachments, I am unsure if we could easily find them. I am unsure if these are universal jackhammer attachments.
For our use, and maybe your small job, this is an excellent deal! It is nice to find affordable tools that work for the purpose they are intended. To note, you can get a smaller unit for about $50 less than our model. We chose the 3600 watts thinking it would give us the most power possible. BUT, this is a 110-volt tool, so in reality, we can only pull 15 amps at 120-volts equalling 1800 watts. So there might be a bit of a fudge factor on the watts. We see a lot of that in the electric pressure washers on Amazon.
At $180 you are even money just making it through the testing!
This tool is still working as expected after about 6 hours of run time. The tools are getting dull, but all else is perfect. Best Amazon purchase ever.
@@WorkshopAddict Was wondering if replacement bits are standard and available. 6 hours is 20 years of use for an Amazon tool. 😂
@@WorkshopAddict do they sell the tools themselves so you could replace them if you needed?
@@lukesalazar9283 I have not looked into that yet.
i brought one in the uk broke within 3 days with less than 4 hours use brought it on the 5th delivered on the 7th dead on the 8th company wont help even thought its under warranty
I bought pretty much the same tool except under a different name a couple years back for under $150, back then I worked as a carpenter and needed it for one single job. It was probably going to cost more to rent, so I figured I could buy this and even if I threw it in the trash afterward I would still come out ahead. Since then I've used it on numerous jobs breaking up thin slabs, walls, and where it really shines is using a clay spade for trenching. The soil we have here is clay mixed with river rock and it's an invaluable tool. I'm actually probably going to buy another one not because mine broke, but only because my awful ex-wife stole it.
This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool ruclips.net/user/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.
Bad link.
Great for the DIY - I bought this tool during Amazon Prime Days recently for $147 with two extra bits: One wide chisel and one small shovel bit. I used the shovel bit to excavate and terrace a small compacted rocky section of my yard where I could not access with heavier equipment. It worked like a charm. Saved me $$ and time. Now I am thinking of new ways to put it to good use!
I bought pretty much the same thing also for under $150 except it was called Stark, I used to be a carpenter and needed it for one single job and thought since it was the same price or more to rent one I could throw it in the trash afterword and still come out ahead. Since then I've used it on countless jobs, I switched careers and became a plumber and used it with a clay spade for trenching and digging out main lines, in the San Diego clay and rock soil it works amazing.
This video is not at all what I was looking for.... Subscribed for more of this anyway. Very chill
I ended up buying one of these for next to nothing. I've been impressed. Other than the bolt falling out of the grip (which would be fixed with a little loctite but of course we just tighten it back up and wait for it to fall off again. lol) it's holding up way better than I would have ever expected. I'm a contractor but It's not something that gets used every day but probably a couple hours a week of fairly hard work usually. I have a couple vevor tools for things like this that get used a couple times a week and they're not pretty, ergonomic, or well built but they work quite well really.
Thanks, I will be getting this one to break up the left-over concrete after cutting down the posts. This is sure to make the job easy and enjoyable.
Do you think a digging bar could be cut to 4' in length (and modified to fit in the chuck) and be used in this Demoltion Drill to break up rock in post holes in areas that have rocks at the 3' depth?
I used a similar device to break down a chimney in our house, it worked wonders for the money, i was just as surprised as you were.
Have not seen any wear on it, seems to work fine still and right now, im using it to remove a tree stump (tip). Its amazing what these things can do for the money.
Definitely worth the € 120,- i payed for it :D
mine just arrived, I put 30 weight oil, thats all I have.
It works fine on 4+ inch deep concrete garage floors, gonna take a while though.
Glad I bought it.
Hey thanks man just bought one for some concrete demo work.
Just used it. Wow! It kicks the shit out of concrete and got the job done fast. Thanks for your videos saved me time and money.
How's it holding up?
I bought a wire stripper on ebay that's branded Vevor, the tolerances are a little loose but it doesn't take long to adapt. It was made to be either hand cranked or chucked into a drill and did a fantastic job after the learning curve at stripping wire. I mean, CA$80 for it vs CA$200 for a StripMeister.
Thank you very much. I need to remove a 12'x12' feet concrete patio floor. Looks like this tool is the chosen one.
Thanks a lot for this timely video. I just bought the same one. It says '' add oil', but I noticed that there is already some oil inside. Was it the same for yours? I don't want to overfill it in case that could cause it to leak. So once again, my question is: Did your Vevor jack hammer already have some oil in it? I would really appreciate it if you have the time to reply. Thanks again for the video, and I'll subscribe and come back to watch more videos.
I have the Harbor Freight Bauer version of that tool, and it's a huge time saver.
It actually uses the collared pnuematic jack hammer bits, though.
Thanks for the video! Picking one up so I can demo a short sidewalk
the instructions talk about grease and also oil. is that interchangable? i noticed that there's grease where you insert the bits so I'm wondering if you're supposed to add grease there also??
I just bought one for myself. Price was excellent.
great demo lets us know how it worked on the bank…...
is it normal that the air outlet (that round black vent) gets pretty hot?
I got one for $150 with 4 attachments a year ago, pro tip never push hard unless you use your foot, if you push hard over say an hr. it will destroy your wrist I was sore for 2 days. Never knew it took hydraulic oil I've been filling mine with rotella 15w-40 and it's been through a bunch of use, guess the oil type doesn't matter, only 2 ways you'll destroy it, if you overheat them(over use or use to small an extension cord) or drop them(they are known to crack)
I’m wondering about the extension cords one would use for this. It’s 3600 watts if I’m correct.
Will it run on a standard 120v home outlet? 15A or 20A?
Its a start we can have nice side walks❤
I just bought one, just to do planting in AZ desert soil, which sometimes is a lot like cement, mine cama with a very heavy duty shovel shaped cast iron chisel too which may be handy, this tool may be OK for home duty !!!
I thought I heard you say you were going to use it on a vault in another building. Forgive me if I missed your follow up, but did it do the job better or worse, all things being equal, than your first attempt?
About the same.
I dug a well about 15ft and i saw a rock. Will this remove the heavy and large rock from a well?
It would bust it up.
I have exactly same 1 for 6 years just in blue color. Must be 1 type they make as OEM. It takes engine oil it is heavy like hell but it works and it is reliable
I read some of the reviews in the link... and you can clearly tell that the people who had a bad experience totally didn't put the oil in before running it...🤦♂️
Not surprising because the instructions say nothing about it.
I have the same one coming from amazon for my garage floor.
Can you use this horizontally on a wall?
I don't used my on concrete i used it to drive wooden pegs and steal pins in ground i make my own bits it works great better than using a hammer when driving pins in grounds fill off stones
Shit yeah! Just bought one to rip up some old slabs. Glad to hear it exceeded expectations!
How to change the engine oil
Just bought one to address broken fence posts myself after a massive wind storm in Colorado with 100 mph wind gusts. Maybe talk over the hydraulic fluid and show adding it and whatever you’ve done maintenance wise. The brushes as well… agreed its a horrid manual… … good video and hoping it saves me money doing it given rhe $1600 bill a repair guy wamts….
Would this be good to lift up ceramic tile floor in house. Or is it to heavy to use in horizontal position? What does it weigh?
It will get heavy quick im sure. If you have a compressor big enough or rent one, you would be better off with a long reach pneumatic scraper.
It would be a good work out and be quick.
Any chance of finding out the weight? lbs or kg?
It's about 18kg
WorkshopAddict Didn’t You Test The Ryobi 18v HP Vs Milwaukee M18 On This Concrete Lock Box
On the box in the pictures, yes. By no means did those small tools do all of that work. We had a similar box to remove and that is why we bought the tool.
For $180 that seems like a good buy.
You should have called me. I would have brought over my Bosch I used on the Bank job.
You could have compared them.
There was no comparison. This was 100 times stronger than the bosch. But it would have been good to show. Too many things happening. Will catch up soon.
For 180 cool
Maybe a problem is to get the chisel🤔
It looks like the chisels have SDS-Hex fittings but I could be wrong.
@ it's bigger than SDS or SDS plus
@@robertfischer2281 It probably uses SDS Max or Spline. Those fittings are larger, SDS Max is the standard for most demolition hammers that size so it's most likely that.
oil all over mine when i first opened it
Why are you and your friends in the business of buying bank buildings? Are banks not needed anymore? What specific value do those sort of buildings have for y'all?
We both made an office out of them.
Ebay $129
I’ll need to see torquetestchannels opinion on this 🤣
This tool has the beans. I really respect what Torque Test Channel does.
@@WorkshopAddict hello
What type of oil do you put in this thing
