This is easily the best MJF interview I've seen. Semi-kayfabe MJF is amazing. Yes he's still in character but he's not hamming it up so much that it feels like a joke. Yes he's arrogant and smug but he's actually answering questions and going on with the interview. I think he's great but I feel he can often go over the top with the character work. This was the PERFECT balance. Hoping something like this translates over to TV.
I have to say, whenever I see MJF and know that AEW also has Eddie Kingston under contract, even though their worlds are completely different, I'd really love to see a promo battle between them. It doesn't have to be a huge storyline, but I just want to see them go head-to-head on the mic, I don't know why.
Finally found some time to watch this with all the wrestling on television. Really good interview. Great restraint that Shawn kept the spoiler part of this under wraps until MJF was ready to return to AEW.
