Since the Heroes and Generals is died I started to look for an another ww2 shooter. I considered playing ww2 online but the subscription is a big no for me. very cool game and gameplay nonetheless.
The subscription system does kinda blow compared to buy to own games, but the money goes to upgrading the current game and upgrading it to unreal engine 5.
I played this game for 10yrs. "04-'14. They were promising improvements constantly during those 10yrs if we would just donate money to their cause. 10yrs after I quit playing because of all the failed promises (aka lies) by CRS and it STILL looks exactly like the same game. Except now, they charge you something like $18 a month to have access to all the the same 20yr old equipment. Wow.

Red orchestra scratched the ww2 game itch for me after H&G, especially with the darkest hour Europe mod on steam.
