1000 baht a night is a low price for a hotel in Patong Phuket. But it is not a low price for a hotel room in Thailand. I can find lower prices in Jomtien and Pattaya for 500 baht to 700 baht for the same standard. But it is Phuket, so you can expect many things to be more expensive here.
