    I love my baroque flutes, especially the feeling you have to play without keys

    the most important difference is the bore: modern flutes are cylindrical, baroque flutes are tapered.

    I imagine that if one blew saliva through Strads, Amatis, Guads, and Guaneris for 300 years they wouldn’t have aged well either.
