After years of sharing the beauty of Greece, I’ve decided to shift focus. In this video, I reveal the real reason behind this change and reflect on the challenges and truths about promoting life in Greece as a foreigner. It’s time for a more honest conversation.

We need more people like you here in Greece man ! Excellent videos always!
Greek from Montreal Canada love your vids don’t stop
I am Kurdish grew up in Turkey and living in Canada Don't worry about those stupid people that fight over food/drink. It is an education/vision issue.
Sta Paparia sou, keep doing you brother. We are moving from the US back Home permanently. Ready to face the negativity myself can't please everyone and you shouldn't try to either. Enjoy your loved ones and appreciate life, that's all that matters!
Simply put, its about negativity. You did great, do not give attention to haters. That lady was a pessimistic person and filled with negativity. Do not allow her or other hating commentators drag you down. Keep your inspiring and positive vibes, its just radicals and nationalists going overboard. I am a patriot Hellen but i find you quite an interesting person. One of the best philhellenes out there.
Note: Just keep reminding sometimes that you do not care about politics but are mostly interested in the culture of Hellas.
Thats where everyone is going crazy. And for the record for cases like the Halvas thing is just bias conflicts. Regardless of the origin it is now a common food among the people, instead of fighting they could simply discuss about it. Maybe the different variations of these neighbooring countries are interesting for one another.
People are always quick to fight if you give them a reason to, but also helping and kind if you equally give them the motivation.
Everyone who dwelves in the history and past know really well the truths about these silly arguements and origins. I am a history enthusiast myself. Due to Hellenic civilization being older, Turkey barely can have any solid claim over Hellas in almost every aspect.
What's up brother? Great to see you. I'm glad you're taking a stand for your brand. Yes, I know that rhymed 😂. When you get more eyes and more popularity that's when these obnoxious know it all people try to hijack your ship. Brother, trust me I've been there. I was once a very popular producer in the Spoken Word space. Once my clients started treating me like an afterthought and employee I was out. Iwas trailblazer of a new genre and everyone forgot like I was a passing trend. Then one day I remembered who TF I was. I'm an artist. I'm here to create things that I'm passionate about and not appease these fickle ass people. See what I'm getting at?
Bro, these people who are having discussions in your comments have nothing to do with you and your original mission statement. Greeks are wonderful people I'm sure but as soon as the locals found out about you it seems like they want to take the wheel and drive your vehicle. Respectfully to all of these people bringing this weird negative energy IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU.
Daniel has inspired many musicians, content creators, entrepreneurs and dreamers around the world. We've been here for many years supporting this Visionary. Guess what? Once you bandwagon spectators have gone and moved along his true tribe will be here supporting his content. Greece is a beautiful place but the bigger vision isn't about one travel destination or this sacred country you don't want anyone to share. No. It's a mentality and mindset. Because of Daniel my bleak colored urban environment transformed into lush hills and the deepest blue sea when I took walks. That's priceless for someone to give you hope. So all of you negative naysayers ask yourself this. What have you done for the world? I just told you what Daniel did. Marinate on that.
Thanks for everything brother.
P.o.p.
What happened to you about Halva and coffee is crazy. Concerning ''Ottoman heritage'', what people don't understand is that all the conquered peoples of the Ottoman empire created the common shared heritage together. Coffee was brought from Yemen to Constantinople / Istanbul by Syrians. It was arabic not Turkish or Greek. But now it's a shared heritage. Same thing for many things and meals. Now Greeks do them their way, Turks their way, Kurds their way etc. In the palace of the Sultan there were slaves from all over the Empire creating food and music. Nobody knows the genetics of those who created that... Keep up the good work
Dont stop. You inspire me, you inspire us. As a Frenchman (fond of the Greek world and the greek language for 10+ years), living in Finland and planning to move at some point of my life to Greece (yeah I know sounds complicated haha) I really like your videos.
Keep your positive energy please. Greeks and Greece need it.
I love your videos and agree. I'm American and have lived here 40 years with my Greek husband 6 kids and 14 grandchildren. We all love beautiful Greece.
Hi Daniel, I find your videos, positive, enlightening, informational and inspiring. Whilst I have no notion/idea/view to retire in Greece, it doesn't stop me watching your videos.
I know you probably are not going to read this but on the off chance that you do, please keep up the great work. Each person will have their perception of what it is that you are doing and how applicable that it is to them, but often this is coming from smoked covered lenses and a level of bias.
for me it is about attaining knowledge, an interest in someone's journey and someone's opinion. Through my smoke covered lenses, I see a travelled individual with a thirst for life, a well travelled and learned individual an entrepreneur and an overly positive person. The latter is the biggest character trait that is lacking in modern day society where we are transfixed with cancelling anyone with a message that does not suit someone perception.
Keep up the great work, I love watching your videos and if I ever come across to Greece, would love to catch up for a Greek coffee!
for the record with respect to Halva or Halvah or Halwa, the origins of this is Arabic from the word "Halwa" which is translated literally as "sweet confection"- it's origins are old (3000 BCE) quite different from what we eat now being made from gelatinous, grain based mixture including oil, flour and sugar. It became popular in the Byzantine period around 12 century. The first written recipe was in the 13th century in a book called the The book of dishes (Kitab-al-Tabikh) and included 7 variations. As it spread through middle east and europe, the name and ingredients subtily changed. The Egyptians called it Halawa and mixed it with pistachios, almonds or pine nuts while the Indians called it Halva and floavoured it with ghee, coconuts and dates.
The ottomans in the 1500's had up to 30 varieties of it, with one of those being made with sesame tahini (what we all eat today). This was passed to the Romans who shared it with the Jews
The point is not a history lesson, it is to signify that like most things in life we are never really sure of the origins, what we are sure of though is that like most things, it found it's way across the known world with every country picking it up and adapting it as they saw fit......
It is no-ones but it is everyone's, instead of arguing we should be discussing how beautiful it is as a dessert.
You pick the topic and make the video and we’ll watch. No worries. Please don’t let any negativity impact creativity or distract you from your success.
Don’t listen to the haters!
God bless greece
Make Greece Great Again - MGGA!🤣
I am of Slavic heritage and the only thing we know doing is fighting with each other
If not for Greece, we'd still be in middle ages. i mean, what does it even mean not to promote Greece? Does the new testament promote Greece? Our maybe Cyrillic alphabet? How do you even start not promoting Greece?
I think: don't worry about silly people, Daniel. You are not the one promoting Greece, Greece promotes itself and did so for the last three millennia.
It's too late to stop.
Love ALL your videos! I'm a Greek Canadian and visit Greece often. I actually just got back from a month trip to Greece helping my family with the olive harvest. You're 100% authentic and are very well versed on everything about Greece. Please keep the videos coming about Greece!
Please carry on what you do, as a Greek living abroad that cannot go back at the moment it gives me peace and motivation to work harder to be able to go back one day :) I love watching your videos and it warms my heart to see you have embraced my homeland with so much love. Thank you!
You’re a good guy man ! A very sensitive, an artist … I like you ! Stay strong… and yes people suck .. be careful, an artist always gets exposed, and the meanies always try to hurt the ones get exposed
Thanks!
Daniel,
I have been watching your videos for over a year now and I am a fan!
You bring positivity and hope. And DO NOT STOP that. This is what DEFINES YOU!
This is the reason your followers are looking forward to your next video daily!
Some of these miserable people, bottom feeders, will never-ever change! That’s their purpose in life. We all have a place in the society.
You care too much and this is the reason you respond to the negative and miserable people.
You have to stand above them and continue your content. This your place in society. Because you are an inspiration to 95% of us. Unfortunately we, your fans, tend to be the quiet ones but we have your back….
Daniel, you are right. Coffee is coffee whichever way you take it. Why would you care if an idiot called whatever?
Ignore the miserable who always cry wolf, even during fat-cow years!
Please keep your content real and genuine! Greeks above everyone else need your optimistic spirit!
We are blessed to have you!
Thanks for what you do every day!
Θα έκλεινα όλα τα σχόλια ή δεν θα τα διάβαζα ποτέ.
Κάνε αυτό που θες , λεγε αυτά που θες και μην σε νοιάζει τι λένε οι άλλοι εδώ μέσα.
Danny keep your light. I liken it to a ballon. Remember one heavy rock can stop a thousand balloons from flying. Their hate is their fate. Their rife is not your life. Finding your channel is one of the reasons i will relocate in 2025. We support you 10000% leave sh** in the grass. Wipe it off of your shoe don’t bring it in the house my friend. 😊
Hey Danny I will repeat myself again and again and again, stop giving to much attention on negative people, toxic people will be toxic regardless of what you do
Toxicity it's their fuel
Do what you love, you know better than everyone that " this is the way" for personal growth and development
I've never been to Greece so far. I live just outside Birmingham, UK.
There is a lot of mixed foods, songs, music, etc. shared between countries. I enjoy your views of Greece as I live here too. I’m a foreigner as well, but like you love and enjoy this Greek culture as well as the sea and mountains. Some people would not be happy no matter where they are. I am glad you are going to delete the negativity. There is too much of it in our current world. To me, Greece is about the positive. Keep up the good vibes. I still drink drip coffee 😅
I love your videos and your channel is so inspiring......you will always get the negative nellies!
How do you cut your own hair, especially at the back of your head ? Make a video about it
See it in a positive way. This title made me want to follow you,and I am Greek from Thessaloniki😊
❤ stay as you are ❤ lovable ❤ positive ❤ Open-Minded ❤
Come on man.. dont let some old hags comment affect you. Keep doing what ur doing. There's people that talk shit just to talk shit.. they have nothing better to do. You could be doing everything 100% perfect and someone.. someone out there is gonna say stupid shit!!
People are scare of immigrants seeing how beautiful Greece is if the old lady doesn’t like Greeks or Greek culture she shouldn’t be watching..Anyways I’m married to a Pontian Greek so Greece fascinates me it’s a beautiful country and culture as an Italian I enjoy watching don’t let the haters get you down..
U are the best, i like your video's.
Don't listen to that negative persons.
I'm living in holland and make promotion about greece. At the moment for the first time greece make a good posetive economic progres, and i'm happy that greece have a good economie and it have something simular whit your nice video's. Keep going my friend.
You’re right. This video is irrelevant. Don’t waste mental energy on trolls. Curating the audience results in quality subscribers.
Don’t get triggered man, there are so many negative people ….you need to ignore them. You do great content and we love seeing your day to day stories from Greece 🇬🇷
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP
If its made in Greece and made by Greeks then it’s Greek there’s no controversy..
You can talk about Greece without directly promoting it. The "promotion" of Greece will happen naturally if people recognize themselves in what you present to them.
And let's be honest, only maybe one person out of 100 will actually be able to leave their country to live their Greek dream. How could that hurt Greece?! Absolutely not!
What you could do, and I'm sure many would appreciate:
show us everyday life in Greece: shopping, paying rent, paying bills, what to buy and what not to buy, maybe also talk about social life (even if it's more subjective of course)
But above all, don't change anything! And keep making your videos!
Keep ya head up, there will be always someone who dont understand your videos. Greets from Stuttgart Germany
Being an artist… oh my… we always get attacked… critized , hated by the cockroaches
I’ve watched lots of your output.
My opinion, as a past travel writer and lifelong Grecophile, which I give to you freely, for whatever it’s worth, is:
The camera likes you, indeed, but where should you take our podcasts?
I think you would be great at visiting places/islands and presenting a review/travelogue, through your eyes. This is ideally suited to you and your skills.
Ignore the detractors; tourism, as you are aware, is the main income generator, for Greece.
By writing about places in Greece (you are so spoilt for choice in the incredible Peloponnese!🎉), you will be supporting Greek industry.
I think it would be a mistake to follow a different path, although you can still do music output as a sideline.
Best wishes.
I am retiring to Crete next year and as soon as I visit Nafplio I will buy you a coffee!☕️
Bro let's be honest,u do the right think .but to be honest greece not easy to start
How about trimming your beard 😊
❤
I thought your channel "MY Greek Lifestyle" was suppose to be EXACTLY THAT..."YOUR" Greek Lifestyle..... Now that DOESN'T mean it's ALL GREEKS lifestyle... people are SO STUPID... it was interesting to see how YOU were experiencing YOUR LIFE in Greece. Anyways, I personally would have CONTINUED in MY COMMITMENT to continue to show JUST THAT. It was interesting my friend..watching an immigrant IMMERSING himself into a NEW COUNTRY AND CULTURE..Those of us with a brain understood, it was YOUR experiences NOT ALL GREEKS. ANYWAYS, I could go ON AND ON, But let me FINISH ON THIS....There will ALWAYS BE SCOFFERS AND NAY SAYERS , success come from PERSISTENCE AND PERSERVERANCE and STAYING THE COURSE. I thought you were trying to be a Mentor/Motivational Guide..??? Wish you all the Best Man..😊😊😊
There is a european research, I think by Eurostat (the official statiscs agency of the European Union) that compares the percentage of people in European countries that are ind anger of poverty and the pervcentage of people that BELIEVE that are in danger of poverty. While most countries have a few percentage points, like 2-3%, between the two metrics, either pessimisticaly or optimisticaly, in greece the difference is somewhere around 3 TIMES more people thinking they are poor than being. Long story short, the misery and entitlement most Greeks have is huge, due to the false frugality they lived through the times socialists put us in huge debt in order to get votes.
Interesting point! As a Greek living in Greece, I can verify that it is somehow true! Not completely, but we are more miserable in our minds than other nations, for sure !
PASOK needed to maintain a consumer based economy back then. Papandreou created low paying civil service jobs in order to maintain a consumer based economy (civil servants supporting local businesses). This strategy failed and put Greece in debt!
Very mature take on haters. Keep it going. Ignore them.
Anything that you will do that interacts with people you will meet the haters. What you see is a symptom of our current society which is full of bitter Karens. You dont need to explain, Just do what you like!!!
Well...about coffee...of course there is Greek coffee as well as Turkish coffee and French coffee and German coffee and American coffee and (of course) Italian coffee.
These terms roughly express the preferences of each country.
Although French and American coffee are brewed in the same way, French is obviously stronger than American.
Accordingly, Turkish coffee has a darker roast than Greek coffee because that is simply how the Turks and Greeks prefer their coffee.
😀
