Steve, just wanted to say thanks for the content. I know you don't have to pay videos and it's often thankless, but I appreciate your informative content as someone still navigating into kayak fishing.
I use a Nite Ize figure 9 carabiner clipped to my seat instead of a cleat to hold the anchor rope. It works fine and saves drilling two holes in the hull. Thanks for the demo. Keep up the good work!
Just found your channel looking for hacks for my old tarpon wilderness 100. You have a new subscriber from south Spain. Definetely going to follow several of your DIY projects. Thanks!
Good idea using a piece of plastic to test out the hole sizing. The way I did it for my paddle clip I began with a very small drill bit to make the pilot hole then incrementally used larger and larger drill bits. Each time I tried inserting the well nut into the hole. Once I got to the hole size that made for a very snug fit I added some E6000 then reinserted the well nut and finished the installation. Gotta say I prefer doing a test on a piece plastic which is what I'll do next time. Less risk... Prefer ruining a dollar store cutting board than dealing with an oversize hole on my boat. BTW, love the idea of using a dab of glue on the rope knots👍
I enjoy your practical and informative videos ! Have you consider making one that concerns clothing to wear while warm and cold kayaking ? I notice your basically wear the same pant and shirt in most videos . Thanks
I did do a video on why I selected my "uniform." It is for warm weather. I do not kayak in cold weather - but the answer is you should have a dry suit. ruclips.net/video/hACmw39nXS0/видео.html
Forgot to mention, I also use a little rubber cement with it. I used an inner tube patch kit. If you can find the peel and stick ones they work the best.
You can if you want. I think the seal is pretty tight as it is. I tend to worry the sealant will introduce slip - similar to oil - and I want everything as tight as possible.
What's the purpose of running the anchor trolley rope through the ring? I'm not seeing any other guys do this. Just curious, because I did mine like yours.
It is a huge mistake not to use the ring. The trolley will be pulled under your kayak and out of reach. I explain it in this video - ruclips.net/video/q2brpGvhHhk/видео.html

Measure twice and cut once! Well demonstrated.
I agree with the sentiment, but he literally never measured and cut twice. Lol

I really appreciate that! I'll work even harder!

Great tip!
You just helped me a ton. Both of you. Thanks for this comment tho. My perception outlaw dips in right there and cleat doesn’t have a good spot there
Great explanation on how to install! Thanks
My anchor set up is not perfect...but you gave me a brilliant idea on how I can make it more efficient.
Thanks! Appreciate it!

Awesome! Thank you!
Plenty of hints i didn’t know. Thanks

I like the E6000 enhancement! Thanks
You keep putting out great hacks. Thank you!
More to come!
I try and collect the plastic shavings from the drilling as well, those are the perfect size to fill in those kisses from the oyster shells.

I use a little bit of gasket material on all my rivets as well. Haven’t had a leak yet.
Great idea! Thanks

@@alexanderandrews1 Even better!
Great video but I'm curious about something. Shouldn't you put a little sealant around your hardware and holes you drilled?
You can if you want. I think the seal is pretty tight as it is. I tend to worry the sealant will introduce slip - similar to oil - and I want everything as tight as possible.
Nice video !!!
Thanks!
